Dungeon of Niflheim -
Chapter 804 - 804: Next on the agenda
"Ugh." After passing out for a good fifteen minutes or so Frost finally awoke from his slumber with a groan laced with pain. He wrenched open his eyes with difficulty and felt agony in all his extremities, his body both hot and cold and his head sluggish and ringing.
"Good you're up, how do you feel?" Khione's voice came from above him filled with what appeared to be concern.
"Like complete shit, as though I was hit by a massive boulder, over and over and over…ow!" His side was pinched and twisted, apparently Khione wasn't fond of being compared to a massive boulder.
"Well you're awake now so you can drink this and recover properly." After 'lightly' pinching him she pulled out a high level health potion of excellent quality that was stored in a literal work of art for a container from her storage ring and dangled it over his face.
"This is high quality stuff, a world of difference compared to the slop you've been forcing down your throat so far, so enjoy it and rejoice in my kindness, I won't even charge you." She said with a wide smile on her lips.
"Kindness? Aren't you just showing off your wealth in front of a pauper." Frost replied not buying into her fake kindness in the slightest. She wasn't the type of person to do something so unnecessary just because she could, there had to be an angle. Not necessarily a bad angle but an angle, nonetheless.
"So you don't want the potion?" Khione pulled the bottle away from his face, holding it close to her chest possessively.
"Ugh I didn't say that." He quickly recanted, knowing that even if it meant having his inferiority rubbed in his face it was better to bite the bullet and drink a higher levelled potion instead of a lesser one. Less chance of lingering damage, wasting of potential and the absence of an assault on his tastebuds.
"Then say please." Her smile widened mischievously, getting back at Frost in such a fashion pleased her heart in way that didn't arouse her dark desires, innocent fun.
"Ugh….you do realise that the reason I'm currently indisposed and lying here is because of you right? Didn't you get enough of your aggression out during our training session?" He wasn't against saying please but he made it known that the only reason he was in such a state was because his, so called teacher went way, way too far in her lessons. Treating him more like a punching bag than a student.
"Hmm oh Frost honey that was merely a mild appetizer for me. One time when I got really mad Dad had to redesign half of the palace." She grinned showing off the sharpness of her teeth, like a predator finally revealing how dangerous they truly were.
"…..I think we need to work on some of your anger issues Khione." Said Frost in all seriousness.
"Oh have you been talking to my mother, you sound just like her."
"..."
"….."
"Hahahahaha."
"Hahahaha owowow don't make me laugh it hurts too much." The two laughed without restraint causing Frost to feel pangs of pain throughout his body. Strangely after resting for a period the pain was only worse not better.
Thankfully Khione had had her fun, she popped open the potion with her teeth, used her left hand to support the back of his neck and poured the sparkling contents into his mouth with experienced precision.
This wasn't the first time she was doing such a thing for another person, often when training with the soldiers or her siblings the end result was very similar to Frost's current state therefore she was no stranger to caring for the wounded nor being cared for as one herself.
Glug glug glug.
Frost intermittently swallowed the thick liquid feeling it get to work the very moment it touched the back of his throat. A miracle medicine that closed his wounds at a rapid rate, leaving not even a single scar from the most dire of his injuries all while tasting sweeter than any fruit and stronger than the strongest of ales. Truly a delicious concoction, a work of art completely different from the muck he had gotten used to.
He had to admit Khione certainly had quite the life and now after tasting such luxury he'd find it hard to return to what he had come to consider normal.
"You should be all healed up in a minute or two, after that we can finally get some much needed food in our bellies." Smelling the appetising scent from the potion Khione felt a slight rumble in her stomach, a sound she quickly forced silent for some reason.
Frost however had no such considerations, his belly practically roared at the mention of food, fiercely desiring calories so as to recover from his pain and lack of energy. A health potion was good at fixing wounds, but it didn't fill the belly.
'I wonder what it'll be' He couldn't help but imagine a wonderous feast, the dinner he had with Khione and her parents spoiling his mind. Instead of avoiding being corrupted by the joy of luxury he was jumping in headfirst hoping to get his maximum fill before his inevitable departure.
"Tell your stomach to calm down the food won't go anywhere." The servants would make them food whenever they asked no matter the time so there was no need to for him to worry about missing a set schedule.
"Won't make any difference, you've awoken a beast. Who told you're parents to spoil me with such high class cooking." Frost sat up -his wounds being pretty much healed by this point- and shook his head in defeat, unlike Khione he couldn't reign his stomach in, nor did he see a need to.
His use of the word 'beast' caused a subtle reaction in Khione. She lightly shivered, a minor pink hue growing on her cheeks as her mind thought of the beast she had seen hidden beneath his underwear. A reaction that was almost immediately erased by her own efforts, and thankfully before Frost caught it.
"Let's head off then, we can discuss our next event on the way." As though wanting to move away from the topic of stomach growling and beasts Khione stood up, rising to her impressive three metre height that towered naturally over Frost's two metre frame. She was a large woman, far larger than both Maya and Daki when in her humanoid form hell even the amazonian beauties that had made a name for themselves in the Niflheim city state were of but average build when compared to her.
Frost took this sight in with a new perspective, finding Khione to be an absolute bombshell of a woman, a woman that he now strongly desired.
'Leaving here's going to be a lot harder than I initially thought.' In the beginning he had no reservations in regards to leaving as he knew they'd eventually meet again in his own territory but now seeing her as he did that unknown timeframe felt like an eternity, one that he was struggling to accept.
His courtship of her could take a long period of time, something he was willing to accept as it meant that despite a slow progress their bond would be constantly worked on and strengthened however from the moment he leaves Niflheim and until she eventually arrives at his territory there would be nothing between them other than a friendship and a bond between teacher and student. A period of time wherein he would inevitably long for her yet be unable to sate that burning desire.
Alas moving too quickly could jeopardize the whole thing and possibly make the absence of one another even harder to bear. Frost had no choice but to leave with a heavy heart, looking forward to the day in which Khione would find him herself.
"What's next on the agenda then?" He asked trying not to think about his departure that much.
Since she was his supposed fiancé Khione had been left in charge of attending to him during his stay here in Niflheim, a good chance for the future couple to get to know each other better. To support this endeavour Shivlai ordered her to teach him the Niflheim royal family spear arts, a fighting style which he learned yesterday and managed to achieve some degree of mastery over the first two stances, the third however still alluded him. He managed to fully activate the lunar eyes for a brief moment when his precious family jewels were on the line but that was a life or death situation, hardly proof of achievement.
After that there was a dinner and while Frost left with Shivali to his study Khione received an in depth lecture from her mother, Freyja.
"My mother told me to take you around the city, to let you experience the pride and joy that my father has managed to build after tens of millennia of hard work and effort." Khione spoke with unabashed pride, finding her mother's suggestion very appropriate.
Understanding the magnificence of her hometown was the perfect accompaniment to a rigorous training session. She wasn't so bull headed to ignore the fact that one couldn't train 24/7 they needed to have a period to sleep, eat and relax if they wanted to gain maximum results.
Though for her training was a form of relaxing in itself, a passion rather than a chore but that didn't mean she didn't understand the needs of others. She was a well bred and educated Princess after all, able to put herself in the shoes of her family's subjects to a certain degree.
"Hoh that's sounds like fun." He had to admit that the prospect of getting a better look at the mighty metropolis dwelling below the palace was an intriguing venture. One that could bless him with a wealth of knowledge to use in his own territory.
