Chapter 1047 - Chapter 1047 Chapter 1051 Evil Immortals Seize Lifespan
Chapter 1047: Chapter 1051: Evil Immortals Seize Lifespan Chapter 1047: Chapter 1051: Evil Immortals Seize Lifespan He inspected it carefully with his Divine Sense.
He ensured that this item contained no poisonous substances.
Looking at the sincere smile on the face of the attractive Immortal Peddler, Zhu Minglang eventually decided to try feeding the Yin Sea Divine Ginseng to the Yama Dragon.
The Yama Dragon seemed to be extremely interested in the Divine Ginseng, swallowing it in one gulp despite its size being as small as a piece of green bean skin; however, the Spiritual Energy contained within was something it desperately needed at the moment.
Not long after swallowing it, the Yama Dragon’s back began to emit crackling bone noises. Zhu Minglang checked inside the Spirit Realm and saw that the Death Scythe Wings of the Yama Dragon were indeed growing back, and what was growing appeared to be new bone, of even better quality than before–it was like finely forged Dark Steel!
The tough wing flesh and the smooth, hard skin slowly covered the Dark Steel bones. The Yama Dragon had been asleep for nearly half a year, and its Death God’s Wing had only grown back a small part, but after using this Yin Sea Divine Ginseng, the Yama Dragon’s wings seemed to be undergoing a metamorphosis, regenerating at an astonishingly fast pace.
“Kuu~~~~~~”
The Yama Dragon let out a long Dragon’s Roar, and at the same time, its entire body was enveloped in a scorching dragon light. The light was a silvery-grey, dazzling and majestic.
This dragon light, Zhu Minglang knew all too well.
It was the glow produced when a dragon was advancing!
Zhu Minglang felt it unbelievable.
The Yama Dragon must have already been in a state ready for breakthrough, but its progress had been stymied due to the damage to its Dragon Wings. After all, in the battle with the Flame Maple Dragon God, the Yama Dragon had dared to challenge a Divine Dragon Lord, a battle that granted it enough glory and achievements to potentially transform its Divine form.
And as the Yama Dragon’s most powerful weapon, its Dragon Wings, were repaired, its Cultivation Base also made a breakthrough.
Of course, the Yin Sea Divine Ginseng played a key role as well; the Yama Dragon was in need of a dark Spiritual Root to give it a push, to successfully advance!
Wings repaired!
Promoted to the status of prospective Divine Dragon Lord!
It was truly a case of double happiness, and Zhu Minglang had not expected to encounter such good fortune simply by taking a leisurely stroll.
Quickly, Zhu Minglang realized something and raised his head to check the fortune above.
Sure enough, the purple aura of blessing had disappeared.
Previously, when he entered Wasted Moon, the purple aura of blessing had not changed at all, which meant that everything he had gained was the result of his own hard work.
But this time, the Yama Dragon’s serendipitous encounter was truly a heavenly windfall!
Glancing again at the Immortal Peddler, Zhu Minglang felt him even more comely; if he were a girl, Zhu Minglang might have been tempted to break his vows and kiss him.
“Thank you so much, your Yin Sea Divine Ginseng has been of great help,” Zhu Minglang said with joy on his face.
“What’s the use of thanks? It’s a trade, it’s business, you just need to tell me if you’re satisfied,” said the Immortal Peddler.
“Very satisfied,” Zhu Minglang nodded.
“And with what shall you pay?” asked the Immortal Peddler.
“Liuli,” said Zhu Minglang. The White Dragon Divine Sect had recently sent a large sum of money; however expensive, Zhu Minglang could afford it.
“I don’t take Liuli,” the Immortal Peddler said with a smile.
“An exchange of equivalent Spiritual Roots? I do have some high-quality Soul Beads and some good items brought from Ancient Mountain. Shall I take them out for you to see?” Zhu Minglang suggested.
“I don’t take these things either,” the Immortal Peddler said, his smile even more brilliant.
“What do you take then?” Zhu Minglang asked, completely baffled.
“Life, your lifespan.” As he uttered these words, the smile on the Immortal Peddler’s face began to shift, becoming a touch eerie.
Zhu Minglang was stupefied for a moment and didn’t react immediately.
“For the value of this treasure, a hundred years is not too much, right?” the Immortal Peddler continued.
As he said this, the Immortal Peddler stretched out a hand and reached toward Zhu Minglang’s chest.
Zhu Minglang suddenly became rigid, and just as he was about to resist, he felt his soul being locked by something; he could neither summon the Dragons from the Spirit Realm nor control the Sword Spirit Dragon.
Zhu Minglang had never encountered such a thing before. He stared at the Immortal Peddler who seemed to be grasping at his heart, at his face that was becoming increasingly cold and indifferent.
Unable to resist or even speak.
Zhu Minglang could only watch helplessly as the peddler snatched something from his soul.
When it landed in his hand, Zhu Minglang saw a disembodied ghost, missing its lower half, while the upper half looked like a death row inmate, being dragged away by one hand of the peddler.
“Phew~ phew~ phew~~~~~”
Whistling a cheerful, triumphant tune, the Immortal Peddler dragged Zhu Minglang’s disembodied ghost into the distance, resembling a small vendor who had sold a basket of mountain goods for a high price and was happily heading home for a meal.
Zhu Minglang stood still, gazing at the happy figure walking away. After a brief moment of shock and horror, his face didn’t show anger or discontent but slowly revealed a smile instead; it was as if a bored, lonely boy had suddenly discovered a mouse stealing oil, catching the mouse had become the greatest pleasure for him to pass the time!
He calmed his emotions for a moment.
Suddenly, Zhu Minglang felt his cheeks damp, as if something was licking his face.
It was at that moment, Zhu Minglang awoke.
He opened his eyes and saw Little Purple Dragon, who had returned from hunting, by his side, tenderly licking his cheek with its tongue.
Zhu Minglang patted Little Purple Dragon and looked around to find that the sky had darkened.
A midday dream??
Was that just a dream?
Zhu Minglang shook his head, he checked the Spirit Realm, and found that the Yama Dragon with the Death Scythe Wings had grown, and even his Cultivation Base had reached the level of a quasi-Divine Dragon Lord.
Zhu Minglang immediately checked his own soul.
Indeed, a part of his human soul was missing!
Damage to the human soul affects many aspects of a person, it leads to weakness, slow cultivation progress, and most notably, a reduction in lifespan!
“No wonder I couldn’t resist, it was stolen in the dream,” Zhu Minglang scoffed.
Being a highly ranked Divine form himself, Zhu Minglang could slay Immortals in his dreams, which meant that certain Immortal beings with special powers also possessed similar abilities.
This Immortal Peddler, obviously, did business with others in dreams too. Once you used his goods, it was like signing some sort of soul contract with him. When he demanded payment, you couldn’t resist!
Coercive buying and selling!
And the cost was exorbitant!
Moreover, lifespan is priceless, many Cultivators would disown their kin and slaughter thousands just to extend their lifespan. Especially for Divine beings, those who had not received the blessing of becoming a True God had no increase in their lifespan. A mere hundred years for those who had cultivated to the levels of God will, God principal, and Divine Monarch was a great humiliation, an injustice from the heavens!
