Chapter 1044 - Chapter 1044 Chapter 1048 The Long Night
Chapter 1044: Chapter 1048: The Long Night Chapter 1044: Chapter 1048: The Long Night Practicing swordsmanship while taming dragons without neglecting either.
The flow of the spinning sword seemed simple; however, achieving success every time was actually challenging, requiring many hours of practice.
During these days when Zhu Minglang had withdrawn from the world for dedicated cultivation, a bloody storm had raged across Yuheng Fairy City’s White Dragon Divine Sect.
The White Dragon Divine Sect owned the richest part of Pingbo Cloud Plains in Yuheng Fairy City, which held hundreds of villas, ranches, and also boasted a city of their own, Pingbo City.
Wu Yan and Du Pan joined forces, convening numerous elders of the White Dragon Divine Sect for an impeachment of the Grand Sect Master, Chen Ji. Both factions remained rational, opting for a duel to the death atop the Pingbo Cloud Plains to avoid destabilizing the sect’s foundation from external forces.
The key to the duel, of course, lay on the god-level powerhouses.
The strength of Second Sect Master Wu Yan had always been well concealed. Under Du Pan and his fellows’ defeat, he forcefully turned the tables and defeated Grand Sect Master Chen Ji. Yet, everyone in the White Dragon Divine Sect knew that Chen Ji had focused solely on diplomacy in his later years–forming cliques and currying favor with divine authorities. He might not be the most superior god himself, but he could make some gods from Yuheng Star Palace appear on his behalf.
Just as expected, the Plum Blossom Master made her presence known.
Clad in a Plum Blossom Robe and wielding a Plum Blossom Sword, she stood amidst thousands of people and dragons as if an insurmountable mountain, bringing an invisible oppressive force upon the entire White Dragon Divine Sect.
“Not bad, to have endured so many years in quiet, becoming a notable figure in Yuheng Fairy City, yet always compromising to be the second in command at White Dragon Divine Sect. But for me, I need a compliant sect master, not an outstanding one. The White Dragon Divine Sect doesn’t need to grow or gain renown; I just need you to obediently listen to my words!” Plum Blossom Master arrogantly stated, remaining unflustered even in the face of the crowd.
“The times have changed, Lu Wu has left to roam; without this leading Immortal Master, do you truly think you still wield unchallenged power in the city?” Wu Yan, deeply disdainful, confronted Plum Blossom Master.
“Without Lu Wu, there are still the Four Great Sword Immortals; without them, I alone, Plum Blossom Master, am enough to annihilate your entire White Dragon Divine Sect!” Plum Blossom Master said coldly.
As she spoke, from dozens of miles away, an arrow soared through the air, appearing unnoticed less than five meters in front of Plum Blossom Master, shooting towards her without stirring any breeze.
A flicker of panic flashed in Plum Blossom Master’s eyes as she hastily parried the spontaneously arriving arrow with her sword.
Though she managed to block the sharp tip of the arrow, Plum Blossom Master was forced to retreat, smashing fiercely into a villa behind her, reducing it to ruins.
“Who is it?!”
From within the fallen ruins, Plum Blossom Master shouted angrily.
“Swish!”
In response to Plum Blossom Master, another arrow fell from the vast sea of clouds above, shooting vertically toward Plum Blossom Master on the ground.
Plum Blossom Master hastily dodged, but when the arrow struck the ground, the earth shattered, and she fell into the resulting gigantic hole.
“Swish!!!!”
Another arrow flew in, its tremendous force as if heralding a divine thunderstorm that could destroy the world. As the arrow embedded into the hole, thunder danced wildly, hail froze everything, and the entire Pingbo Cloud Plains appeared as if ten thousand celestial soldiers and generals were battling, alternating between light and dark…
These three arrows reduced Plum Blossom Master to an utterly sorry state, a stark contrast to her earlier invincible demeanor.
Many of the elders who joined Wu Yan in rebellion from the White Dragon Divine Sect were astounded, although they were unsure whose hands the arrows came from. One thing they did know for certain, they too had heavenly beings supporting them from behind!!
…
On the only small peak on the plain, Du Pan sat collapsed on the ground, looking in disbelief at this “weak woman without the strength to truss a chicken.”
When he saw Plum Blossom Master appear, Du Pan kept urging this woman to summon Zhu Minglang, as in Du Pan’s view, only a Junior Master of such strength could suppress Plum Blossom Master.
What Du Pan did not expect was that it would be this young girl who would take action herself!
Thinking about how over the past few days he had unabashedly called her “Sister Cai You, little sister,” Du Pan really wanted to take off his stinky shoe and give himself a few hard slaps.
Why was he so inaccurate in judging people?
Clearly, there was a female Buddha standing right before him!
He felt fortunate that he had not harbored any ulterior motives, or else the situation might have taken a different turn today!
“She seems to have run away,” Cai You said, looking toward the distant manor, speaking to Du Pan beside her.
“May I ask, heroine, from what divine origins do you come?” asked Du Pan.
“She must be somewhere healing. You all should clean house, and I will stay here for three days. In three days, you should bring the things promised to the young master,” Cai You said.
“Definitely, definitely, definitely!” Du Pan hurriedly bowed.
Du Pan was not stupid. He could tell from Cai You’s tone that there was a level of respect for Zhu Minglang, a respect that seemed more fitting for a personal maid rather than a cousin.
If even a maid by his side had such cultivation and terrifying strength, not to mention offering half of their sect’s tribute, they would be willing to present all of it!
“Our White Dragon Divine Sect possesses a Cold Star Fall Jade, containing flawless spiritual energy. It should be able to elevate the cultivation of the Junior Master’s White Dragon by one level. Once our sect’s situation is stable, I will personally present it along with the rooftops!” Du Pan declared.
Du Pan also knew that Zhu Minglang had a Little White Dragon with extremely noble blood but lacking spiritual resources.
And Zhu Minglang’s support for their White Dragon Divine Sect, frankly speaking, was for the service of his Little White Dragon.
Thus, whether their White Dragon Divine Sect could stand out alone in Yuheng Fairy City depended on how well they could serve Zhu Minglang’s Little White Dragon.
With utmost effort, they should be able to elevate the cultivation of the Little White Dragon by one or two levels!
“Good. If there are any troublesome matters, just let me know. Do not disturb the young master’s cultivation,” Cai You stated.
“Yes, yes, yes!” Du Pan quickly nodded.
…
The night was long.
Zhu Minglang could feel that dawn arrived an hour later than before and that dusk also came an hour earlier.
Most living creatures needed sunlight, and after stepping into the Divine Continent, Zhu Minglang also clearly realized that the sun’s radiance itself was a gift of spiritual energy. The tinge of purple, green, and blue in its luster was the very origin of all creatures’ cultivation…
But as the nights grew longer, a sense of unease and peculiarity lingered in his mind, preventing him from calmly perceiving the heavens and earth, the natural laws, and the arduous way of cultivation…
And this was still within Yuheng Fairy City, protected by the goddess of Yuheng Star. If it were in those desolate corners untouched by starlight, numerous fearsome and unknown demons might have already arisen, twisting the human world!
