Chapter 428: Young Eastern King
Chapter 428: Chapter 428: Young Eastern King
Chen Xuan disregarded Qisha, and after dropping that sentence, he turned to leave.
The dozen or so Qisha Hall assassins, with swords in hand, blocked Chen Xuan’s path with icy expressions, as if they were ready to attack him at any moment.
At this moment, Qisha behind them waved them off with a gesture.
Understanding the signal, the assassins finally cleared the way.
Chen Xuan didn’t even glance at them and left directly.
After Chen Xuan had left, one of the assassins came to Qisha and asked in confusion, "Hall Master, why didn’t you let us kill him?"
Qisha snorted coldly, "You think, with just you guys, you could really kill him?"
"What..." The assassins were all startled.
They were all elites of Qisha Hall, each one of them possessing the cultivation of a Half-step Grandmaster.
With their strength, even teaming up to kill three Grandmaster-level powerhouses was not beyond them.
Yet their own Hall Master said that, with their strength, they were simply unable to kill that young man from just now?
Just how terrifying was the strength of this Chen Fengchuo?!
In fact, even Qisha himself did not know the answer to this question.
Qisha only knew that when he faced Chen Xuan just now, he had absolutely no chance of winning.
This feeling was definitely something Qisha had never experienced before!
"Hall Master, what should we do now? He refuses to accept the enthronement, how should we explain to the Young Eastern King when we go back?" another assassin asked.
Qisha snorted coldly, "Whether he accepts or not, the decree has already been placed there. Immediately spread this news, especially, make sure those from the Dong Family know it! By then, it won’t matter whether he accepts the enthronement or not!"
"Understood, Hall Master!"
Qisha didn’t say more and leapt up, grabbing the rope of a helicopter.
He was as light as a feather, and with a simple movement, he climbed up the helicopter like a gecko scaling up the rope.
The helicopter took off immediately, flying directly towards the east.
Half an hour later, the helicopter landed at a small airport in the eastern suburbs of Qiantang.
Qisha changed to a jet plane; after a bit more than an hour, the plane reached the airspace over the coast.
From the air, one could clearly overlook the entire coastline of the East Sea.
And above this entire coastline, a base as huge as a city was embedded like a pearl within it.
At the very center of this base, an enormous and majestic palace, built against the coastal mountains, stood overseeing the sea, grand and imposing!
This was the Dong Family’s headquarters, the residence of the Emperor!
The plane landed at the Dong Family’s private airport, where a car had already been prepared.
Qisha took the car and finally arrived at the Dong Family headquarters half an hour later.
Upon entering the compound, a figure in white faced away from him, clicking his tongue and teasing a pet in a cage.
"Qisha, paying respects to the Young Eastern King!"
Qisha knelt to offer his respects, with the utmost reverence.
Without turning his head, the Young Eastern King asked casually, "How did things go?"
"Reporting to the Young Eastern King, Hu Zhenyuan and his family of four have been executed, and the Nanjiang Martial Alliance has been subdued!"
The Young Eastern King sighed, "I’m not asking about that."
Obviously, in his eyes, these were trivial matters not worth mentioning.
Qisha was stunned for a moment, then quickly understood the meaning of the Young Eastern King and hurriedly replied, "Your subordinate is incompetent and failed to get that Chen man to receive the order..."
"What did he say?" the Young Eastern King asked.
Qisha did not dare to conceal anything and repeated Chen Xuan’s words exactly as he had said them.
Having heard Qisha’s words, Emperor Shao finally turned his head.
To his surprise, there stood a youth of sixteen or seventeen, whose handsome features were ethereal, exuding a soft, feminine air; he was even more beautiful than a woman.
"Interesting!" A smile emerged on the corners of Emperor Shao’s lips.
This radiant, pure smile involuntarily reminded one of a line of poetry.
Human faces and peach blossoms reflect each other in red!
To describe this young man, such a line was exceedingly fitting!
However, in the face of such an amiable youth, Qisha’s expression remained solemn, as if facing a formidable enemy.
For he knew better than anyone that the pleasant and unblemished exterior was just a facade.
The mind and methods of Emperor Shao were far more frightening than his appearance suggested.
"Your subordinate failed to accomplish Emperor Shao’s mission, please punish me, Emperor!" Qisha said with utmost respect.
But Emperor Shao simply tossed the food he was holding to the pet in the cage before him, saying nonchalantly, "Forget it, that person was just too unaware, it has nothing to do with you."
"Thank you for your leniency, Emperor Shao!" Qisha sighed in relief.
Then, after a moment of hesitation, Qisha finally said, "Emperor Shao, I can almost confirm that the Dragon Vein should be in the hands of Chen Xuan. What should we do next?"
Without a second thought, Emperor Shao said offhandedly, "If it’s in his hands, let him keep it for us for now, as the Dragon Vein is merely a decoration in his possession. You only need to ensure he doesn’t defect to the Bei Family, and all will be well!"
Qisha nodded, "Understood, my Emperor!"
Emperor Shao, not wanting to waste more words with Qisha, waved his hand dismissively, "Alright, you may leave. It’s time for me to invite Father to dine!"
Qisha’s face changed, a flicker of dread crossing his features, as he hurriedly said, "I shall take my leave!"
Bowing respectfully, Qisha rose and left.
Before turning away, his gaze lingered on the cage in front of Emperor Shao.
Inside that cage was an unfortunate person whose tongue had been cut out!
After Qisha left, several servants carried the cage down to a spacious underground chamber.
The chamber was circular, its walls lined with countless, bizarre yellow talismans, each inscribed with cinnabar to create the appearance of dragons soaring and phoenixes dancing, marked with mysterious symbols.
On the floor of the chamber, seven candles were lit, arranged in such a fashion as to correspond with the seven stars of the Big Dipper in the heavens.
And directly above the seven candles, at the exact center of the underground chamber,
a large rosewood coffin, bound by thick iron chains, floated suspended in mid-air!
The lid of the coffin was ajar, and one could faintly discern an aged figure lying within, silent and still, life and death unknown!
Emperor Shao approached the coffin and bowed respectfully, "Father, it’s time for your meal."
Upon these words, the servants dragged the living person from the cage.
"Uuuuuu..."
The person’s muffled cries echoed through the chamber as they tried desperately to struggle.
But alas, all struggling was in vain.
Before he could struggle further, Emperor Shao’s blade descended.
Splash!
With a single cut, the man’s throat was sliced open, a long incision from which blood spurted out.
The scarlet blood gushed from the wound and flowed into a twisting trough in the floor.
This trough was connected to the seven candles.
Soon after, the blood filled the trough, forming a link between the seven candles.
Whether it was an illusion or something else, nurtured by this blood, the flames of the seven candles seemed to burn much more fiercely...
