Chapter 1036: A Streak Of Silver Light

Lan Xuanyu fell silent for a moment before speaking: “Given our current strength, the greatest risk on Celestial Dragon Planet is undoubtedly safety. After all, that planet is home to god-level powerhouses. So we won’t be returning to Dragon City any time soon. Celestial Dragon Planet’s top figure,Tian Long, is a god-level being who has met me in person and had close contact with me. I believe he would definitely recognize me. However, if we only operate in Fenglong City, I’m fairly confident we won’t be discovered. Moreover, it’s Xiuxiu who appears in public. Her identity as an upper-level Dragon Clan member offers her significant protection.”

He paused briefly before continuing, “Another reason we returned is to request support from the Academy to further improve our strength. Only with greater strength can we better protect ourselves. I believe the resources we brought back this time can be exchanged for many emblems. We hope the Academy will grant us access to higher-level privileges so we can exchange them for suitable cultivation treasures. Once we improve our strength, we’ll return.”

The middle-aged man smiled slightly. “That’s a good idea, and it creates a positive feedback loop. If I’m not mistaken, the Emerald Demon warship is still with you, correct?”

Lan Xuanyu nodded.

The man then turned to the Sea God Pavilion Master and said, “I’m done with my questions.”

Meng Fei interjected, “Xuanyu, your idea is excellent. But I must say, your actions this time were extremely risky. Such dangerous undertakings could have easily cost you your lives, which is unacceptable. That said, your contributions are undeniable. What I’d like to know is—how confident were you when you decided to carry this out?”

Lan Xuanyu replied, “Our level of confidence changed constantly. When we decided to head to Dragon Horse Planet Seventy-Six, I’d say we had less than 30% confidence in achieving something, but more than 80% in getting out safely. When we infiltrated Celestial Dragon Planet, I was over 90% confident we could withdraw unharmed. As we gained identities on Celestial Dragon Planet and considering the current chaos there, I believe our safety is not in immediate danger.”

The middle-aged man said, “From his account, it’s clear the boy is meticulous and courageous. I suspect his actual confidence was even higher than he claimed.”

Meng Fei said, “I’m done with my questions.”

Wang Tianyu added, “Right now, infiltrating Celestial Dragon Planet to gather intelligence and resources from the Dragon Horse Galaxy is all gain, no loss. The Federation previously had no clue about the Dragon Knights or Celestial Steed Knights, which shows how well the enemy sealed off information. The intelligence Xuanyu brought back is, in my opinion, even more valuable than the Space Origin Crystals. The Federation had the upper hand in this war, and the Dragon Horse side now faces internal strife. I believe the infiltration plan should continue.”

The Pavilion Master asked, “Do you have any more questions for him?”

“No,” said Wang Tianyu.

Tang Miao also shook his head, indicating he had no further questions.

Elder Shu said, “Xuanyu, you mentioned that Celestial Dragon Planet’s Life Essence is even stronger than our Eternal Tree. That’s vital information. Also, you sensed an unknown, dangerous force calling to you from above Dragon City. Based on my experience, that’s likely a small spatial aperture. With your current strength, absolutely stay away from it. If possible, try to bring some of that life energy back. Celestial Dragon Planet is a place capable of birthing god-level powerhouses—its life energy could greatly benefit the Eternal Tree.”

Lan Xuanyu replied, “Though we didn’t stay long on Celestial Dragon Planet, it left a deep impression. If we could make it a federal administrative planet, it would mark a significant milestone in our development. The sheer abundance of resources on Dragon and Celestial Steed Planets is unimaginable.”

Elder Yi said, “Of the negotiators from the Dragon Horse Galaxy, four were god-level powerhouses. Without overcoming these four mountains, trying to take those planets through war is unrealistic. In fact, the Federation might be destroyed instead.”

Four god-level beings? Lan Xuanyu was deeply shocked. The power of individuals from the Dragon Horse Galaxy far exceeded his expectations.

The Pavilion Master added, “Which only proves further that cultivating on Dragon and Celestial Steed Planets can help one improve rapidly.” This made Lan Xuanyu’s heart stir. The Pavilion Master was clearly implying that if they could access those cultivation resources, their growth would accelerate.

Huang Yuanlang had once promised Bai Xiuxiu he’d teach her how to become a Dragon Knight. There might be much more to uncover there.

Thinking of this, Lan Xuanyu nodded and said, “Uncovering Celestial Dragon Planet’s secrets and understanding it is one of our key missions. Please rest assured, Pavilion Master and elders, we will not act recklessly. Understanding is more important than destruction.”

He was aware of his own reputation in this regard—blowing up planets tends to leave a bad impression. The fleet had concerns too.

“If it’s blown up, so be it. Would you rather leave it for the enemy to grow stronger?” the Pavilion Master said calmly. “Even Celestial Dragon Planet and Celestial Steed Planet—if we can’t claim them in the end, better to destroy them.”

“*Cough, cough!*” Elder Yi cleared his throat twice and looked at her.

The Pavilion Master chuckled. “What? Worried I’ll corrupt the kids? Don’t forget who his father is. Do you think I could corrupt *his* son? Are we done here?”

The other Pavilion members all nodded.

The Pavilion Master said, “If that’s all, then I’ll speak last. Lan Xuanyu, your mission this time is greatly appreciated by the Pavilion. Your request will be granted. The resources and merit you brought back will be exchanged for cultivation materials tailored to each of you. After that, you’ll return to the Seventh Fleet. You’re free to decide on your specific actions. That’s all.”

“Thank you, Pavilion Master,” Lan Xuanyu said joyfully. His goals in returning had been achieved.

“Very well. Meeting adjourned. Tianyu, you handle the arrangements,” the Pavilion Master said, rising to her feet.

“Yes,” Wang Tianyu replied.

The Pavilion Master looked once more at Lan Xuanyu. “Your father is meditating upstairs. He knows you’re back—you can go see him.”

Uncle Le was upstairs? Lan Xuanyu's heart leapt. “Yes, Pavilion Master.”

The Pavilion Master left with Elder Yi. The others also filed out.

As the middle-aged man passed by Lan Xuanyu and his group, he gave him a look full of admiration and said, “Well done. The future is yours.” Then he strode away.

“The future is ours?” Lan Xuanyu thought. “Does he mean… the next generation of Shrek Seven Monsters?”

He subconsciously clenched his fists. Although the meeting hadn’t directly addressed that issue, the fact they were invited at all meant a great deal. Especially with all the resources they had submitted—the shock on Tang Miao’s face over the ten Space Origin Crystals said it all. What could such merit earn them?

Er Ming had once mentioned that Tang Sect controlled the real Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Perhaps Lan Xuanyu could cultivate there and break through to his sixth ring. He was eager to see what his soul rings would become afterward.

“I’m going to see Uncle Le. Wait here for me,” Lan Xuanyu said to his companions.

Wang Tianyu added, “Second floor, last room on the left.”

“Thank you, Pavilion Elder Wang.” Lan Xuanyu bowed respectfully and quickly headed upstairs.

Elder Shu smiled and watched him go, murmuring, “A golden-scaled dragon is no creature of the shallows. With wind and clouds, it becomes a true dragon. This boy’s growth is faster than any of us expected. Celestial Dragon Planet may be his springboard to greatness.”

Lan Xuanyu climbed the stairs and entered the second floor of the Sea God Pavilion at Shrek Academy.

The floor was quiet, the hallway narrow, with windows on one side overlooking hanging golden branches and leaves.

He turned left and walked quickly to the last room, gently knocking on the door.

A familiar voice came from inside. “Come in.”

Lan Xuanyu took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and was instantly captivated by a silver light within.
