Still at the small plaza, Gu Qimiao stood by the roadside waiting for him, her eyes searching for his flashy red Ferrari, when a black-and-grey Bugatti pulled up in front of her.

Just as she was wondering, she saw the car window roll down—it was Gu Moming!

"Stay put. I'll find a spot to park." He instructed.

About five minutes later, he walked over. In such cold weather, he only wore a shirt and a thin jacket, with a couple of buttons undone on the shirt.

As soon as she saw him, Gu Qimiao was full of complaints, starting with his obviously expensive car: "Why did you buy another car?!"

"Annoyed?" He put his hand on her shoulder as they walked.

"Didn't you say you were going to open a store? And you still bought a car! How much did you spend?!"

He looked nonchalant, answering, "About ten million."

Knowing she was about to scold him, he quickly changed the subject: "Have you had breakfast yet?"

She glared at him: "What's the point of having so many cars? One that runs is enough! Look at the ones you already have—they're just gathering dust! And they're all two-seaters. If you're going to buy a new one, at least get a different kind!"

He tapped her forehead: "What do you know! This isn't like picking clothes!"

Seeing her puff out her cheeks in anger, he pinched them and said, "Alright, next time I'll get one with more seats."

Gu Qimiao slapped his hand away: "That's not what I meant!"

"Alright, alright, I'll listen to you."

"You always just brush me off! Where will you get the money to open a store now?"

"As soon as I mentioned opening a store, my mom started transferring money to my account like crazy."

"Can't you save some money? When you get married, do you really want to live off your wife?"

He glanced at her: "I offered to give you the money, but you didn't want it. Now you complain when I spend it?"

"Then from now on, let me manage your money! After you get married, I'll give it back to you."

He raised an eyebrow, agreeing with a simple, "Hm."

They spent the whole day searching for a storefront. Gu Qimiao was more eager than him, as if she was the one opening the store. He, on the other hand, was totally indifferent, like he was just accompanying her shopping.

Finally, at the edge of the commercial street, they found a place with seven connected storefronts.

She suggested renting, but he insisted on buying, seemingly uncomfortable until he had emptied his bank account.

"We still need renovations, labor, and parts. Do you think those are free?!"

He casually replied, "Don't you have money? Just cover it for now. You make money by spending it in business, and besides... don't you always call me a freeloader?"

Unable to argue with him, she knew it was pointless. He was used to being extravagant.

At dinner, she suggested a small restaurant for a quick meal, but he insisted on a fancy dinner, costing hundreds.

Throughout the meal, she kept lecturing him while he just nodded absentmindedly, in one ear and out the other.

"I'm looking at apartments tomorrow; you should move out."

Gu Qimiao paused her eating, pondering but not immediately opposing.

It had almost been a month, and since neither Lu Jinxi nor the Gu family had bothered her, the crisis seemed over. There was no reason to stay at Shen Yanchen's place anymore.

Though reluctant, she nodded, "Fine, I'll move out by the end of March." By then, she would have finished knitting the scarf.

"That's a while away. I'll start looking once the store's renovations are done, or you can look when you have time."

"No worries, there's no rush. You can look when you're free."

The longer it took to find an apartment, the longer she'd have an excuse to stay with him. Just thinking about leaving made her feel an ache inside.
