Chapter 65: Screwing that maid

Chapter 65: Screwing that maid

"Don’t bend, and let your anger drive you, not drag you down," Quinn instructed, his movements still effortlessly evading her attacks.

"Are you toying with me? You are no match for me! You could have at least let me train with someone my size!" She snapped, her frustration boiling over as she glared at him. A reasonable person would have acknowledged her point, and deep down, he knew she wasn’t wrong.

"You think anyone here is your match because of your age?" He countered, a mocking smile tugging at his lips. It was the same infuriating smile that both taunted her and dripped with pity, the one she despised with every fiber of her being. She wished she could slap it right off his face.

"It’s better than fighting someone I can never defeat," she retorted, refusing to back down.

Quinn took a deliberate step closer, his tone colder as he said, "Low self-esteem will kill you faster than your pathetic skills. I don’t waste my time training people without ambition as they are nothing but a burden. I am your leader here, not your ex-husband, Belle. Don’t think I will go easy on you."

The sting of his words hit deep, and she knew he was trying to provoke her. He was always like this, brutal in his honesty, cruel when necessary. But beneath the skin, she recognized his intent. He knew her too well, knew that she needed the push, even if it hurt. He was willing to be the villain if it meant she would grow stronger. That, she suspected, was why Hezekiah had chosen him to train her.

Still, Quinn was playing a dangerous game. Training her meant being strict, leaving no room for softness or romance. Yet he knew, as did she, that no title or boundary could stop him from flirting with her if he truly wanted to.

"You want me to attack? Fine," Belle said through gritted teeth, her anger sharpening her resolve. She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and shifted into a determined stance.

"That’s more like it," Quinn said, clearly impressed. He winked, further stoking her fury, and Belle lunged at him with renewed vigor.

Her movements were no longer clumsy. Each strike carried purpose, and she began to notice the gaps in his defense. Slowly but surely, she gained an upper hand, finally managing to grab hold of him.

Grunting, Belle summoned all her strength to force him to the ground. But Quinn was too solid, his size an undeniable advantage. She managed to shift his position, but bringing him down completely was another matter.

Without missing a beat, Quinn seized the moment. He picked her up as though she weighed nothing and hurled her to the ground. Pain shot through her as she hit the floor, but she refused to give in. Groaning, she forced herself back to her feet.

Realizing he wasn’t holding back, Belle adjusted her stance and flexed her muscles. She went at him again, this time managing to push him harder than before. Yet it still wasn’t enough to topple him.

"I like that," Quinn said, a smirk curling his lips. He gestured for her to attack once more.

Fueling her determination, Belle launched herself at him again. She felt her strength growing as she drove him backward, her confidence soaring. But just as she thought she might finally have the upper hand, Quinn spun her around in a blur of motion.

Before she could react, her back was against the wall. His elbow pressed firmly against her chest, pinning her securely in place. She was trapped, again and the smirk on his face told her he knew it.

"You were so focused on getting me to the ground that you didn’t notice my hand on your waist, ready to twirl you," Quinn said, his devilish smirk widening as he looked down at her. Belle huffed in irritation, her glare sharp and hateful.

"I admit that one. Now let me go," she demanded, struggling against his grip. Yet, despite her efforts, he didn’t so much as flinch.

"Why do I get the feeling you are angry because of what you saw?" He said, bringing up the very memory she had fought to shove to the back of her mind. Belle’s frown deepened, her disgust plain in her gaze.

"I don’t care who you sleep with or entangle yourself with. That’s Sofia’s problem, not mine. Perhaps you should be worrying about how she feels, poor woman," she snapped, venom dripping from her words. Quinn chuckled, clearly amused by her attempts to seem unbothered.

He had thought of explaining the situation but stopped himself, knowing it would involve revealing the truth about the vampires. He had no intention of pulling her into that dangerous world, Hezekiah’s orders or not. It wasn’t about obedience, it was common sense. Belle would only end up worrying more, and he didn’t want that.

Besides, seeing her like this made him oddly satisfied. He couldn’t deny that he enjoyed her jealousy, however much she tried to hide it.

"Why, then, is your heart racing? Are you lying, Belle?" He asked, his voice calm yet teasing. Belle’s frustration only grew, her chest rising and falling as she stared at him.

"Why does it matter to you? Even if I am angry, which I am not, why does it matter?!" She shot back, her voice rising in anger.

"Because it’s the only way I know you still care about me," he said. His calm, deliberate response left her speechless, her disbelief evident as she stared at him. He wanted to know if she still cared about him?

Strangely, his words struck a chord she didn’t understand. Was she relieved that he still held on to her, or unsettled by the fact that he wanted her to care?

"I don’t have time for your games. Let me go," she said, her voice quieter now as she lowered her gaze. For a moment, she thought he would finally release her, but instead, he tightened his hold.

Quinn’s left arm slid around her waist, pulling her so close their bodies were nearly flush. Before she could react, he lifted her left leg with his right hand, bringing it up to his waist. The suddenness of the gesture left her stunned, her hands instinctively clutching at his neck to steady herself.

"What are you doing?! People are here!" She exclaimed, her voice a mixture of panic and shock.

"They will never look," he whispered, his breath warm against her ear. His tone was both reassuring and maddening, but Belle’s worry only deepened. Against her better judgment, she glanced at the trainees, and her stomach dropped.

He was right. Not a single one of them was looking their way. It was as though she and Quinn were invisible to them.

"Told you," he murmured, his voice laced with amusement. His breath brushed her skin, sending an involuntary shiver down her spine.

"You shouldn’t have seduced me. I find it hard to resist you," he said, his lips brushing against the side of her neck.

Belle swallowed hard, her pulse quickening as an unfamiliar warmth blossomed within her. Panic flickered in her chest as desire stirred, confusing, unwelcome, and impossible to ignore.

Why was she feeling this way for him again?

"I never seduced you...you are the one who won’t let me go," Belle hissed, arching her neck to evade his touch. Yet, Quinn only pulled her closer, raising her leg higher, sending heat coursing through her core. The position they were in was sensual, her body pressed so intimately against his that his manhood was almost hitting her core.

"Qui... Quinn! You shouldn’t be doing this. It’s risky for both of us," she stammered, attempting to inject reason into the situation. But before she could say more, his lips brushed against her neck, and her body betrayed her, her strength waning, her legs faltering under the spell of his touch.

"I have been taking risks ever since you came back into my life. My head is worth risking for you, Belle," he murmured, his voice husky, sending a shiver down her spine.

Her mouth parted in shock at his words before she bit back with a sharp retort. "Is this the same line you used when you were screwing that maid?"

Quinn leaned back slightly, a smirk playing on his lips as though her words had confirmed something he suspected all along.

"I knew you were angry and jealous. Does this prove my point now?" He teased before releasing her.

Belle scoffed, her anger bubbling to the surface. He had done all of this just to prove she was jealous? How despicable! And to think she had nearly succumbed to the moment.

"I hate you," she muttered, smacking his chest in frustration. But he caught her hand, his expression softening.

"I am sorry," he said sincerely. "But like I said, it’s the only way to know if you still care about me."

Her resolve wavered at his words, her anger faltering for just a moment.

"I do not care about you," she spat, snatching her hand away before turning on her heel and walking off.

"Let’s finish this session and call it a night," she said, keeping her back to him as she fought to regain her composure. Quinn stayed where he was, silently watching her until she made her next move.

Belle unleashed all her pent-up frustrations, attacking him with ferocity, each strike carrying the weight of her emotions. The training dragged on for another hour before Quinn finally called it a day.

Though exhausted, Belle tried to walk herself back, but Quinn scooped her up, ignoring her protests as they passed murmuring servants in the castle halls.

"I can walk. Aren’t you afraid of Hezekiah’s wrath?" She asked weakly, her voice tinged with defiance even as her body gave out.

"If you had listened to me, you wouldn’t be this weak. But you were so focused on trying to kill me, you forgot your body’s limits," he replied coolly, not sparing her a glance as he strode forward.

"I wish I had managed to kill you," she muttered, resigning herself to his help as her strength truly failed her.

"You are not protesting anymore?" He asked, noticing her silence.

"You never listen, back then or now," she said quietly, her words laced with lingering resentment.

Neither spoke again until they reached her room. Quinn set her gently on the bed, straightening as he prepared to leave.

"I won’t be around tomorrow. You can rest in," he said before turning to leave.
