Chapter 293: Chapter 257: Put important matters at the forefront, unimportant ones.....
Over ten minutes had passed since school was let out for lunch, and there were only a few people left in the classroom.
Jiang Nian finished eating but didn’t buy a drink. After returning to his seat, he bent down and rummaged through Zhang Ningzhi’s desk.
Soon, a box of lemon tea appeared in his hand.
Hehe, life is good again.
As soon as he inserted the straw and looked down, there was a small blackboard sticky note pasted on the desk. It was one of those all-black paper notes with a white chalk writing effect.
The handwriting was neat and tidy.
[The English exam paper is in your desk, only do the reading comprehension. We’ll go over it tomorrow in class! Math homework: Page 204, the third major question, page 205.....
PS: Don’t steal my drink, you thief! (fist) (warning)!!]
As Jiang Nian drank the lemon tea and read the sticky note, he couldn’t help but laugh.
"Too late, I’m already drinking it."
Everyone knows that important things are mentioned first. Since it was mentioned later on, it must be an insignificant detail, which rounds up to a self-serve drink policy.
Jiang Nian sat at his desk, pulled out the math review book, and, following Zhizhi’s guidance, found the homework assigned for staying after class.
People all around had left, leaving only Huang Fang sprawled at her seat, working on problems.
"Fangfang, aren’t you going to eat?"
"I’ll go in a bit."
"Oh, I see." Jiang Nian continued with his homework.
After a while, Huang Fang indeed got up, and before leaving, glanced at Jiang Nian.
"Aren’t you eating?"
Jiang Nian raised an eyebrow and asked with a playful smile.
"Guess when I ate?"
Huang Fang: "...."
At 1 PM, Jiang Nian calculated, wondering. It’s Saturday, and it’s not Chen Yunyun and the others’ hair-washing day, yet they didn’t come to the classroom to nap.
Daring to slack off with just 600 marks?
"Hey, how did the psychological lecture go this morning?" Yu Zhiyi appeared and sat directly in her ex-boyfriend’s seat, "What did they talk about?"
Jiang Nian’s eyelids twitched, thinking art finally arrived?
Only after looking a few centimeters lower did he properly consider the Psychological Commissioner.
It was strange; he had clearly looked at her face carefully, so why didn’t she leave much of an impression?
Anyway, she was someone with a strong sense of female empowerment.
"Hmm... They talked about a lot of useful things, and it seemed like only Psychological Commissioners were there." Jiang Nian made up, "I saw them taking down loads of notes."
Upon hearing this, Yu Zhiyi suddenly became nervous.
She had only seen Jiang Nian and lightly asked two questions out of duty, expecting to hear some non-essential chat and then end the conversation.
Who would have thought he would drop a "pretty important stuff."
Plus, he added that it was all Psychological Commissioners who went and they were all taking notes.
That directly targeted her psyche, almost to the point of panic mode.
Subtext: The third class of the Olympiad didn’t send Psychological Commissioners; they attended class instead. Not taking the duties seriously, new management directly forgot themselves.
"What did they talk about?" she hesitantly asked.
"Didn’t listen."
Yu Zhiyi nearly spat blood. If you didn’t listen, why mention it? Heaven knows, earth knows, you know, others don’t, yet you had to say it out loud.
Now she had no choice but to ask.
Swallowing hard due to nervousness and leaning slightly forward, her chest naturally crossed over Jiang Nian’s desk and began to apply some weight.
"Did you take notes...."
"Went empty-handed, oh~ played two games." Jiang Nian smiled gleefully, "Zhen Nan’s number one jungle, took down the crystal in ten minutes."
Yu Zhiyi was so infuriated she almost passed out.
"You..."
Jiang Nian’s gaze involuntarily lowered again, thinking art arrived once more, and now he could peacefully nap at lunchtime.
"Actually, I did catch some of what was said."
Hearing this, Yu Zhiyi suppressed her rising anger.
"Such as?"
"Oh, some mumbo jumbo that was hard to make out." Jiang Nian closed the math review book, "But the psychology teacher had a pleasant voice, quite charming."
"Say something useful." Yu Zhiyi was speechless.
"Oh, the psychology teacher’s name is Lan Lan." Jiang Nian recollected cautiously, "She left her number after the lecture."
Yu Zhiyi hesitated for a moment before asking.
"Did you write it down?"
"No, I took a photo." Jiang Nian took out his phone, having already earned Yu Zhiyi’s trust, opened the gallery, and handed it to the Psychological Commissioner.
"Where is it, oh oh, I see it....." Yu Zhiyi took a glance, gritting her teeth in frustration, "Why did you only photograph the psychology teacher! Where’s the number?"
Jiang Nian felt a bit shy, "I don’t take pictures of anything that’s not pretty."
Seeing Yu Zhiyi about to lose it, Jiang Nian pointed with his finger, interrupting her spell-casting and advised like a sage.
"But you could ask Ji Jiayu from the next class, I noticed she seemed to have taken quite a few notes."
"Okay." Yu Zhiyi stood up and left.
Class 2.
Ji Jiayu looked up at the person in front of her, surprised that Yu Zhiyi had become the Psychological Commissioner. She wondered if someone as pretentious as her could be a good fit as the Psychological Commissioner.
She arched her eyes and smiled.
"What is it, darling?"
Yu Zhiyi was a bit embarrassed too. In fact, she wasn’t that familiar with Ji Jiayu. She only came to find her out of necessity; was she also a Psychological Commissioner?
Going through a breakup and being on the local favorites list, does it mean there’s no psychological problem, and thus she’s suited to be a Psychological Commissioner?
"Hey, Yu Bao, there’s something I wanted to ask you about."
Two minutes later, Ji Jiayu was a bit surprised.
"Didn’t you go?"
Ji Jiayu’s one question pressured Yu Zhiyi a lot; she looked more awkward, realizing the attitude wasn’t friendly.
"Uh-huh, Jiang Nian went and told me to ask you."
Upon hearing this, Ji Jiayu made a sound.
"I’ve got it all noted down."
As she spoke, she retrieved a notebook from the drawer.
"Did you bring your phone? You can take a picture."
Though Yu Zhiyi was surprised at the shift in attitude, the priority was getting the notes.
"I brought it, thank you."
Ji Jiayu didn’t even lift an eyelid, casually saying.
"You’re welcome."
.....
Lunchtime ended.
Jiang Nian woke up from a nap, still a bit dazed, when a figure stood beside him. Looking up, he saw Zhang Ningzhi staring at him angrily.
"What’s up?"
"Where’s my drink?"
"What drink? Don’t falsely accuse someone who doesn’t like beverages." Jiang Nian, freshly woken, instinctively denied, "Do you have proof?"
Until Zhang Ningzhi pulled out the empty lemon tea shell from his desk.
"Little thief."
Seeing the evidence, Jiang Nian gave in and surrendered straight away.
"Yes, I drank it."
"Hmph!" Zhang Ningzhi couldn’t really do anything to him and turned to her seat.
Soon, more people gradually filled the classroom.
Jiang Nian got up to fetch water, and on his way back, he ran into Li Hua. This guy was full of energy, yelling from a distance and blurting out the moment he got near.
"Good news, good news."
"I just got my new seat cushion, and now I’m living the exquisite life." Li Hua pulled a parcel out from behind him, beaming with joy.
"My butt, thin as cicada’s wings, is finally saved. Bless this brother of yours."
The classroom environment was harsh, cold in winter and hot in summer.
After being promoted to senior year, making it worse was sitting long hours in the classroom. The chair was hard, and sitting for prolonged periods caused some discomfort.
"Let me see that."
Upon hearing this, Li Hua quickly retreated, eyeing Jiang Nian warily.
"Dude, you....."
"You fool, I meant your seat cushion." Jiang Nian felt a bit speechless, himself being purely single-colored, "If it’s good quality, I might buy one too."
In fact, he would buy several.
Boss Jiang is all about gift wholesale — if not short on cash, especially with three hundred bucks just received today, why not set one up for acquaintances when it’s such an easy job?
Li Hua considered, "The hallway’s crowded; we’ll check when back in the classroom."
An entire afternoon of classes passed.
During the short self-study.
Jiang Nian was flipping through a homework book, pondering whether or not he should buy a seat cushion.
Interestingly, he hadn’t seen a few girls around buying a seat cushion.
Perhaps because girls’ butts are softer, or perhaps because their bodies are lighter, resulting in less pressure on the chair, making such items unnecessary?
He had checked out the seat cushion Li Hua bought.
How to put it — it was hemorrhoid-cushioning.
Even worse than a textbook: at least they are warm in winter and cool in summer. With prolonged use, books even become softer and adapt gradually to the shape.
Thinking about this, Jiang Nian couldn’t help but glance at Li Hua’s seat cushion, commenting.
"Hua, listen to a friend’s advice."
"No need to persuade; my mind’s made up." Li Hua waved his hand, signaling enough talk, "All that secret ailment talk is pure nonsense."
"Look at this material, this design, the mesh perforation in the middle."
Upon hearing, two people in the front row turned their heads out of curiosity.
Wu Jungu asked, "How much did you pay for this?"
Li Hua gave a price, "28."
"That’s too expensive for just a seat cushion." Zeng You slightly clicked his tongue, got up for a closer look, "Seems like there’s nothing special about it."
He had once said the happiest thing is eating instant noodles past midnight in winter with some music while reading a novel.
In simple terms, his desires were minimal.
But if it indeed is worth it, Zeng You wouldn’t hesitate to shell out gold coins.
"Let me see." Ma Guojun joined in for a quick glance, "This junk is useless; the best solution is to not sit for too long."
"Then I won’t buy it." Zeng You, following suit, said.
Li Hua snorted, "Don’t let me catch you with my cushion under your butts someday!"
Jiang Nian looked for a while, undecided.
"I think I’ll buy one, not like Li Hua’s, it’s too impractical."
Zhang Ningzhi remained silent, simply averting her eyes.
Jiang Nian noticed her wanting-to-say-something expression, so he proactively asked.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, why did the group leader buy such a seat cushion?" Zhang Ningzhi hesitated, softly said, "It’s easy to get....."
She didn’t finish the last two words.
Jiang Nian didn’t know how to answer, only giving a vague response.
"Not sure, maybe..... personal preference."
"Oh." Zhang Ningzhi believed, turned away, then back again shortly, "Do you want a seat cushion? I know a good one."
Jiang Nian raised an eyebrow, "Send me the link."
"No need." Zhang Ningzhi waved her hand, softly saying, "I happen to need one too, so....."
