Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 4428 - 4428: Leaving the Frozen Wasteland

"…"

Natalya and the others looked at each other.

"Well, it's at least not another galaxy. A dimension can connect to various different places, right?"

"Yes." Mu Bing answered.

"…" Still, there was some uncomfortable silence.

It wasn't like they hadn't expected this to happen. However, it really was troubling for them to be caught in this situation. How could they go back to their home? Even if they can make it, it would be a long journey for sure.

Besides, it's not like everyone here is an Empyrean. There were other disciples who were still in the Immortal Emperor Stage or the Sovereign Stage.

It wouldn't do well for them to adventure in the Upper Realms since the chances of them dying were quite high.

"Is this another trial?"

Someone from the crowd asked.

"No," The inheritance spirit calmly responded from the icy winds, "The inheritance is over. If you stay here any longer, then the blizzard will enter its peak state and break the world barrier, freeze everything here until the next opening, which could be anywhere between a million to ten million years."

"What!?"

Many grumbled over the fact that they could not stay. This was a good place for them to cultivate. For it to be closed, they were disappointed. Besides, many of them didn't want to go to the Eternal Frost Upper Realm.

They knew they would be suppressed if they found themselves facing an Empyrean or above. They were not foolish.

However, if there were careful people, there were some that were excited, contrary to what people would perceive to be an ice cultivator, cold and smart. These excited people wanted to move to the Eternal Frost Upper Realm and explore more adventures and opportunities.

Particularly, the Empyreans were quite interested.

The inheritance spirit paid no heed to their reactions.

It just repeated for them to leave in the northern direction.

The cultivators had no choice but to leave towards the exit.

"Inheritance spirit, you're a good spirit. Please open this path for me, pretty please~"

Natalya cupped her hands and sang in a melodious voice. Her voice was just one among the many who begged the inheritance spirit to open the gateway to the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm.

However, the inheritance spirit didn't seem to reply, leaving people helpless.

They didn't want to remain here for millions of years, so they hurried.

Natalya and the others also went, but halfway through, they returned.

"Thank you, inheritance spirit."

Natalya turned to look at a black crescent necklace that floated in mid-air.

"I don't need your thanks. Just don't bring any trouble to the sect."

"Hehe~" Natalya giggled.

After she asked the inheritance spirit to let them enter the pathway to the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm, it initially didn't say anything but later sent a soul transmission to her saying that it would accept because it had done something unfair to her, something it had never done to any candidates in the past.

"So this Divine Exalt Grade Manual? How much will this sell for?"

"You-"

The inheritance spirit sounded speechless at Natalya, "It won't sell for anything and will be confiscated. Are you crazy? Show some restraint. Even the Forsaken Yin Divine Saintess has to travel in a subdued manner until she becomes powerful. That is her trial."

"Are you not worried that she and the other disciples will die?" Natalya returned with a question.

"If they die- then that's that. It doesn't change the fact of what needs to be done since the secret realm existed even before the great disaster of the Forsaken Yin Lower Realm."

"…"

Natalya pursed her lips. She was curious about the true events that occurred in the Forsaken Yin Lower Realm for it to have become the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm. Just what happened? However, she was only slightly curious.

The fact was- she found it harder to derive any interest in anything other than Davis.

Like an occupation hazard, it was her cultivation hazard. If she was good to someone, it was because they had something related to Davis, to begin with.

"You should've been informed after the final trial, but-"

The inheritance spirit paused, its voice low, "Although you are a part of the Forsaken Yin Sect, it is difficult to accommodate your existence. You brazenly cultivate a different method of the Forsaken Yin Lotus manual, flouting the rules. The Forsaken Yin Sect considers all members who practice the Forsaken Yin Lotus manual a part of itself, but with you flouting the rules and becoming partly successful in it, I don't want to divulge many secrets."

"…" Natalya smiled.

She turned to look into the distance, her gaze all-knowing.

"The practitioners of the Forsaken Yin Lotus cultivation manual need to forsake worldly desires, loved ones, and even their own selves and pledge themselves to practice the way of severance, which I believe is actually a desire. They're going around in circles, and it may seem contradictory, but it is not since it is a cycle between yin and yang, which generates a lot of power. To forsake everything except one aspect- which is the pursuit of the apex through the nature of yin. In the same way, the pursuit of the apex through the nature of yang means to encompass everything. Ultimate indifference and ultimate greed. Extreme selfishness and extreme ego."

"…"

The crescent necklace trembled ever so lightly at Natalya's high level of understanding.

After a long pause, it eventually spoke again.

"You are one of a kind, but I still believe that you will not succeed in your change since there is no precedence. However, I'm not sure anymore."

"...?"

"What I will say is this- the Divine Exalts aren't necessarily all killed. With their cultivation method banned and their presence banished, they simply moved to other Galaxies, starting individual human race powers on their own."

"…!" Natalya felt shaken by this piece of information.

"Does that mean the Forsaken Yin Lotus Sect… has survived in another Galaxy?"

"Perhaps… I don't know. But as the inheritance spirit, I will continue to keep guard here and welcome the next batch of disciples when it's time, disallowing the Forsaken Yin Lotus Sect to lose its last light. I will continue to do my best to keep this secret realm secure."

"Okay. Have a good day. Don't die in the blizzard."

Natalya causally dropped a few casual words and jumped into the spatial pathway the inheritance spirit opened for her.

Bing Luli and the others went first. After Tanya, Natalya followed suit.

They landed right back where they got inside, causing them to rejoice.

"Natalya, how did you know the path would open? Was it the inheritance spirit of the Forsaken Yin Lotus Sect?"

Bing Luli asked curiously, causing Natalya to give a nod.

Natalya gave one final look towards the closing portal and began to walk away. This place was quite deserted, but considering it was a danger zone, she didn't think it was strange. Instead, she felt it gave them more opportunities to sneak out of the realm without getting detected.

She wondered what Davis was up to nowadays since it was nearly three years from the time they separated. To her, it would be obvious that he would spend time with her sisters. But what about newcomers?

Was there anyone new?

Natalya was highly curious.

"Should we have gone to the Eternal Frost Upper Realm?" Suddenly, Mu Bing asked.

There was a faint frown on her expression.

Natalya turned to look at her, knowing a talented ice cultivator like her wouldn't stop at anything. However, she didn't blame her. As always, she had a sweet smile etched across her lips.

"If our notion is to cultivate further while experiencing more risks, then yes. However, we wanted to return home. I can't wait to see my husband, and I assume the same of Tanya and even Bing Luli, who is quite-"

"Ah- you need to stop saying everything and leave a part of it like they are intricacies. Don't you understand the concept of yin? There's no need to be so overt like yang~"

Bing Luli complained, finally having enough of Natalya's playfulness.

She didn't want to be embarrassed in front of the ancestors or her disciple.

"Well," Mu Bing answered, "I should also return to see Master Myria."

"…"

Somehow, Bing Luli felt more downcast to be ignored.

Either way, Natalya giggled cheerfully, full of smiles.

She didn't forget Mu Bing had been maid to Myria after losing a bet. At the same time, she was full of longing.

Without saying anything else, she rushed out, causing the others to follow panickingly.

It took some time to journey back to the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm. During that time, Natalya managed to come across many news about the Divine Emperor of Death.

Facts about defeating the Venerable Knights, the most recent one being married to Lea and bringing down a phenomenon of blessings, which was mostly believed to be an illusion for fanfare purposes.

However, Natalya fanatically believed that it was true.

After four days, they finally made it to the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm and back to the Second Void Dust Sanctuary all by themselves without encountering a single battle because of their Empyrean auras.
