Chapter 96: Temptation In Paradise.

Chapter 96: Temptation In Paradise.

Lucas guided Olive to a charming gazebo with a stunning view of the clear waters and white sand. The gazebo was decorated with beautiful flowers, and a soft breeze rustled the palm tree leaves. A servant arrived with a tray of drinks, including champagne, fruit smoothies, and light pastries.

As they sat facing each other, both Lucas and Olive shared warm smiles.

Lucas was at a loss for words, captivated by Olive’s goddess-like beauty.

"Are you going to keep staring at me all day?" Olive finally asked, making Lucas swallow nervously and adjust his chair, though his eyes remained fixed on her face.

"Thanks for bringing me here. Thanks for allowing me to be myself, doll myself up, and reminding me that I’m still a lady," Olive expressed her gratitude sincerely as she locked eyes with Lucas, who hadn’t shifted his gaze from her since they arrived.

"There’s no need to thank me, Olive. I just wanted to do something for you, and I’m glad I could make you happy," Lucas replied, a smile playing on his lips.

Olive broke eye contact and stood up from her chair, walking toward a grand piano in the corner.

"Can you play the piano?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Nope, I just wanted to admire it. But I’ve always wanted to learn." Olive replied with a smile.

"What if I teach you a few notes?" Lucas suggested, getting up from his chair and walking over to Olive. "Would you like to play the piano with me? It’s been a while since I’ve played, but it would be nice to play with you."

Olive’s eyes lit up with excitement as she turned to face Lucas. "Really? You’d teach me how to play?" she asked eagerly.

Lucas smiled and nodded. "Absolutely. I’d be happy to," he said, his eyes filled with warmth.

They settled on the piano bench together, their legs touching as they faced the keyboard. Lucas began to teach Olive the basics of playing, guiding her fingers as they positioned their hands on the keys.

As they played a simple melody, Olive couldn’t help but giggle at her mistakes. Lucas joined in her laughter, his eyes crinkling at the edges.

"You’re a natural," he teased, his voice deep and smooth.

Olive jokingly rolled her eyes. "I think you’re just being nice," she said, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.

Lucas soon rose from the bench and positioned himself behind Olive, his warm breath caressing her neck as he held her hands, guiding her in playing the piano.

Olive found it difficult to concentrate, completely captivated by Lucas’s charm. She had been trying to remain composed and not get swept away by his allure, but his proximity and the sensation of his breath on her neck made it challenging.

Turning her head slightly to the right, Olive almost found herself face-to-face with Lucas, causing her to swallow nervously.

"You need to focus," Lucas gently reminded her, a playful smile on his lips, though Olive’s thoughts were consumed by the desire to kiss him.

As Olive redirected her attention to the piano keys, Lucas’s hands intertwined with hers, guiding their movements as they played together. The tension between them was palpable, and Olive struggled to maintain her composure.

"You’re doing wonderfully," Lucas murmured, his breath softly brushing against her ear.

Olive’s heart raced as she felt his warm breath on her skin. Being so close to him felt like torture, as inappropriate thoughts entered her mind.

"No, no, no!" she scolded herself, trying to push away the thoughts. She reminded herself that dating him was out of the question.

But as they continued to play, their hands touching and their faces close, Olive felt her resolve weakening. The chemistry between them was undeniable, sparking whenever they were near each other.

After finishing the melody, Lucas stepped back, his gaze fixed on Olive. "You catch on fast," he said in a low, husky voice.

Olive smiled, masking her true emotions. "Thanks to your guidance," she replied softly.

Lucas returned her smile, his eyes crinkling. "Let’s take a break," he suggested, pointing to the drinks and pastries. "We deserve it."

As they sat down to enjoy their refreshments, Olive couldn’t shake off a sense of unease. She knew she needed to maintain distance, but being around Lucas made it challenging. She felt a strong pull toward him, unable to resist his charm.

*Oh my goodness! I’m so hot and really need to freshen up. Is it because of ovulation or him? It’s odd to feel so warm at the beach,* Olive pondered, facepalming.

"Are you alright?" Lucas asked, a hint of concern in his voice as he raised an eyebrow, noticing her behavior.

"Yes, I just feel like I need a cool shower. It’s quite hot here," Olive replied.

"You should definitely take a shower then if you’re feeling hot. It would be nice and refreshing," Lucas suggested eagerly.

Olive’s eyes widened as she realized her slip-up. "A cool shower?" she repeated, trying to cover up her mistake. "I mean, yes, that sounds nice."

But Lucas was already grinning playfully. "Or we could go for a swim at the beach," he proposed, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "It’s refreshing and relaxing, and you don’t have to trek back to the house just for a shower when you can swim right here."

Olive’s heart sank as she contemplated swimming with Lucas. She was hesitant to join him, especially since she was already struggling to maintain her distance. However, she couldn’t find a valid excuse to decline without arousing suspicion.

"Okay," she reluctantly agreed, trying to sound nonchalant. "That sounds like fun."

Lucas cheered with excitement and stood up, offering his hand to help Olive up. As she accepted it, she felt a surge of electricity course through her body. She quickly withdrew her hand, attempting to shake off the sensation.

Walking towards the beach with Lucas, Olive couldn’t shake off her sense of unease. She knew she was in a precarious situation, and there was no way she’d ever be able to get over Lucas if they kept getting so close.

Upon reaching the beach and watching Lucas remove his shirt to reveal his toned physique, Olive felt her determination waver. Perhaps she could allow herself a bit of enjoyment. After all, she was on vacation and deserved to have some fun.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" Lucas shouted as he raced towards the water.

Olive laughed and followed him, feeling her heart race in her chest. She knew she was in trouble, but she couldn’t resist the charm of the handsome billionaire.

"I bet Lucas was the one who told the designers to have me wear a swimsuit under my gown. He’s such a master planner!" Olive thought as she removed her gown, revealing her well-proportioned figure clad in a black and gold swimsuit before jumping into the water.

As Olive dove into the water, she felt a surge of excitement. The cool water surrounded her, offering a welcome relief from the heat. She swam out to join Lucas, who was already frolicking in the waves.

They both splashed around in the water, and Olive couldn’t help but admire Lucas’s toned physique. His sculpted abs and strong shoulders gave him the appearance of a Greek god. A flutter of attraction stirred in her chest, weakening her resolve even further.

"Are you okay, Olive? You seem distant. Are you tired?" Lucas asked as he swam up to her, getting close and locking gazes. He then reached out to touch Olive’s face, his eyes moving down to her wet lips.

He hesitated at the idea of kissing her, wanting to respect the friendship boundaries Olive had made clear, but his feelings couldn’t accept it. His finger brushed against Olive’s lips, and he began to lean in, about to kiss her.

Determined not to let Lucas think she had feelings for him, Olive pulled away.

"What are you trying to do?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. "Did you bring me here just to take advantage of me?"

"What? No, Olive, I would never do that," Lucas replied, shocked.

"Really? Do you usually try to kiss your friends, then?" Olive questioned, her voice tinged with anger.

"I don’t try to kiss my friends," Lucas replied bluntly. "Let me be truthful—I actually brought you here because I hoped you might see how much I care for you. I wanted you to have a change of heart and love me back because I don’t understand why you won’t date me," he explained.

"Are you that slow to process words? I already told you that I can’t date you, Lucas. You need to accept that. These stupid tricks won’t change my mind," Olive stated firmly as she walked out of the water, followed by Lucas.

"But why? I just need the reason. Am I not attractive enough? Is there something about me that you don’t like?" Lucas asked, curious and confused.

"I dislike everything about you. I could never imagine being with someone like you. You repulse me. I tried to be friends despite my feelings, but after today, I don’t want that anymore. Forget about me, pretend we never met, and I’ll do the same," Olive replied bluntly.

Her words hit Lucas hard, leaving him speechless and unsure of how to respond.

"I want to go back to the others. I’m tired," Olive added before walking away.
