Disguised As A Boy To Attend Belmont High School
Chapter 59: Victory And Vibes

Chapter 59: Victory And Vibes

As the competition concluded, the judges revealed the winners in various categories. Students from different schools made their way to the stage to collect their prizes, their faces glowing with pride.

"And the champion of the poetry recital is... Sophia from St. Mary’s High!" Sophia’s face lit up as she accepted her trophy.

Following that, a tall, slender boy from Lincoln High was declared the victor of the science fair. He flashed a shy smile as he received his award.

The audience clapped politely as the winners were announced, their expressions reflecting a mix of excitement and pride.

At that moment, Mrs. Thompson, the curly-haired woman in the red floral dress, approached the microphone. "And now, the moment we’ve all been eagerly anticipating... the winners of the debate competition!"

She paused dramatically, scanning the room with a smile. "Olive and Lucas from Belmont High, please come forward!"

Olive couldn’t believe her eyes as tears began flowing down her cheeks the moment she heard her name. Out of the thousands of schools that participated in the debate competition, she and Lucas emerged as the winners.

The audience erupted in cheers and applause as Olive and Lucas made their way to the stage, their faces beaming with joy. Mrs. Thompson handed them a trophy and a certificate, shaking their hands warmly.

"Congratulations, Olive and Lucas! You have demonstrated exceptional debating skills, teamwork, and persuasive arguments. You are the true champions of this competition!"

As they accepted their prize, the audience cheered and whistled, their faces filled with admiration and respect. Olive and Lucas grinned at each other, basking in the glory of their hard-won victory.

"You both are great teammates. It’s obvious you both worked very hard. Your points are valid and reasonable. They’re convincing," one of the judges commented.

"Thank you so much!" Olive and Lucas said in unison with smiles on their faces.

"You have both won scholarships to study at any university of your choice in any country in the world," another judge said, a smile dancing on her lips. "Keep up the good work."

"Thanks, ma’am!" Olive and Lucas said in unison.

"I’m so proud of both of you," Mr. James said as he made his way up the stage, his face brimming with joy.

Soon, the announcement of winners from various schools was over, and then it was time for taking pictures. Other teachers of Belmont High School as well as Mr Philip came up the stage to congratulate Olive and Lucas.

The judges and teachers took photos with the winning students, and soon the event was over.

"Congratulations!" Mark said as he approached Lucas and Olive on the stage. "You both did incredibly well."

"Thanks, Mark! I didn’t know you were in the audience," Olive said, a smile playing on her lips.

"Just wanted to surprise you. Even though I didn’t participate in any competition, it’s still nice to congratulate friends," Mark replied, giving Lucas a big hug before moving to Olive, who returned the gesture with a side hug.

"Anyways, I’m off!" Lucas said, making his way down the stage, leaving Olive and Mark alone.

"What’s wrong with him again?" Olive asked, her gaze following Lucas until he disappeared from sight. "He was just smiling now and then his expression changed."

"Just ignore him. He didn’t even tell me why he decided to participate in this competition when he said he wasn’t interested. He just asked me to drive him here at all costs," Mark expressed his frustration with a heavy sigh.

"He said he wants to start doing things himself. He told his mom to choose between him and Desmond. But it’s obvious his mom chose Desmond, which is why Lucas ended up showing up in the competition," Olive explained.

"Oh, I see. That’s tough. Well, it’s good that his mom chose Desmond and allowed Lucas to show up here. At least you won a scholarship for yourself. You don’t have to worry too much about anything now. Going to college to be a judge is certain," Mark said with a smile.

"Yes! I’m so happy. I’m just concerned about Henry and Desmond. Only one of them can get the scholarship. I can’t imagine the pain they’re both going through right now," Olive said with a heavy sigh.

"They’re good friends. They should be able to sort it out," Mark replied with a heavy sigh. "I wonder why the judges did that, though. It’s not fair."

Just then, Henry and Desmond approached, interrupting Mark and Olive’s conversation.

"Hey guys!" Henry greeted, looking a bit downcast.

"Congratulations on winning, even against students from other schools," Olive said with a smile.

"Thanks," Desmond replied. "But I’m not happy that only one of us can get the scholarship. We both won the music competition together, so why can’t we both receive the rewards?" he added, his expression angry.

"I’m sure there must be a reason. Maybe you should talk to Mr. James when we get back to school. He might be able to help," Olive suggested.

"Do you think so?" Henry asked, sighing heavily. "We have to talk to him, I guess."

"Let’s head back to school. Other students are already leaving. I brought my car with Lucas, but if you guys don’t catch the school bus now, you might miss it," Mark urged, his tone urgent. The group agreed and headed towards the exit.

"I’ll be right back! I need to use the restroom," Desmond said, noticing their questioning looks.

"Just hurry up or we might leave without you," Henry warned as they exited the arena with Olive and Mark.

Outside, students from different schools were boarding their buses. Olive, Mark, and Henry stood by the Belmont High School bus, waiting for Desmond and Lucas.

"Why is he taking so long? He just went to pee," Henry said, frustrated.

"Lucas isn’t here either. He didn’t say where he was going," Mark sighed. "That guy knows how to stress me out."

"Wait, those two are enemies. What if they ran into each other and started a fight?" Olive suggested, looking shocked.

"Oh no, they’re going to kill themselves . We need to find them," Henry exclaimed. The group agreed and rushed back into the arena, searching every corner.
