Chapter 108: A Party To Attend.
"What’s wrong with him?" Olive murmured under her breath. The image of Lucas’s erect dick replayed in her mind, causing her face to flush red.
’Stop thinking about that, Olive. You shouldn’t be thinking about those things,’ she scolded herself, giving her forehead a light knock. She quickly got dressed in her school uniform and made her way to the cafeteria to grab lunch.
Upon reaching the scholarship students’ cafeteria, she was surprised to see Mark sitting and eating with Lara and Henry.
"Hey! Come over here!" Henry called excitedly the moment he spotted her. Olive quickly made her way toward them and sat down.
"Hi, guys. How come you’re eating here? What happened to the cafeteria for the paid students?" Olive asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You know I don’t care about scholarship or paid students. I can eat anywhere. Besides, I wanted to see Lara. She can’t go to the paid students’ cafeteria because of those rich kids who would no doubt give her a hard time, so I came here instead," Mark replied with a wide smile.
"Oh, I see..."
"Anyway, we’ve got a party to attend tonight, a big one," Henry chimed in excitedly. "As you already know, we can go out after school hours and just have to come back before curfew."
"A party? What party?" Olive asked, raising an eyebrow.
"It’s a welcome party for the new students—the rich ones in our year," Henry replied, still excited. "I was already invited by Rachael, but Mark also invited us."
"Well, good luck to you guys then," Olive replied, her voice and expression serious.
"Huh? What do you mean by ’good luck to you guys’? Aren’t you coming?" Henry inquired, his gaze fixed on Olive, with Mark and Lara also watching her curiously.
"Yeah, I can’t. Sorry, but I wanted to go home and have dinner with my family," Olive replied bluntly. "You guys should just have fun."
"Come on! When we weren’t allowed to leave school during the only-boys era, didn’t you live your life without your parents then? Why are you now planning to go to them like you didn’t just return from their place today, like you haven’t been living without them before?" Henry interjected with a frustrated expression. "We’re all going to this party. You can have dinner with your parents later, please."
"Is it really necessary for me to come? Besides, didn’t you say this party is for the rich kids? Why do you want to attend? You’re just gonna get insulted and looked down upon," Olive replied, rolling her eyes at Henry.
"Are your ears working? Yes, the party is to welcome the new students—the rich kids—but I also mentioned that I was invited by Rachael, the sweet girl you and Lara said I’d never get because she has a boyfriend. And I also said Mark invited us too."
"But are you for real? Rachael actually gave you her number?" Mark asked, surprised.
"Yeah!" Henry replied with excitement.
"That’s surprising. You better be careful, though. Michael, her boyfriend, might ruin you if he finds out you’re getting close to Rachael. And besides, Rachael giving you her number might be a setup. What if Michael asked her to give it to you?" Mark said with a smirk.
"I’ve thought about that, actually. But why is that girl still with him? There’s no doubt their relationship isn’t as perfect as they portray. It’s too obvious," Henry said, his expression worried.
"And how’s that any of your concern? You’re right; their relationship isn’t as perfect as they make it seem. Michael beats Rachael, but she refuses to leave him. She still loves him despite everything," Mark replied, his tone serious.
"Beats her?!" Henry exclaimed. "I knew it! I remember seeing bruises on her hand last term before vacation. I didn’t bother asking because I wasn’t interested then, and besides, I was still mourning Desmond’s death. What if Michael kills Rachael?"
"Like I said, it’s none of your concern. Her friends have warned her to leave him, but she refuses. It’s her choice," Mark said while Henry shook his head in pity.
"Hey!" A voice came from behind Olive, prompting her to turn around. Jessica stood there, a smile dancing on her lips.
"Hi!" Olive replied. "How are you doing?"
"I’m good. Uh... Thanks for helping me find the principal’s office this morning. Can I sit here with you?" Jessica asked, her eyes pleading.
*Huh?* Olive questioned silently, not understanding why Jessica wanted to sit with them when she was a paid student and should be in the paid students’ cafeteria.
"Yeah, you can sit," Olive finally replied, and Jessica sat down beside her.
"Good you’re here," Mark said, his gaze fixed on Jessica before addressing the others, who wore puzzled expressions. "Jessica’s mom owns the club where the party is happening."
"Oh, I see. You’re the one who asked her to come over, then," Lara chimed in.
"Yes, babe!" Mark replied, planting a kiss on Lara’s cheek.
"Yeah! I hope you’re coming. You promised to hang out with me, remember? We can hang out at the club, and I might buy you a drink of your choice or some ice cream," Jessica said with a smile, staring at Olive, who only swallowed hard.
"Huh? He promised to hang out with you?" Henry teased, winking at Olive. "That’s new. I’ve never seen him with any girl. I’m starting to think he’s gay."
"Henry!!" Olive yelled, her expression irritated.
"What?! The girl wants to hang out with you. Cancel the dinner and just attend the party. You can always have dinner with your family another time. Let’s all have fun tonight. Prove to me you’re not gay and won’t be after my dick any moment now."
Mark, Lara, and Jessica burst into laughter.
"Yes, please," Lara chimed in, giving Olive a pleading look. "Just this once. Let’s have fun."
Olive heaved a heavy sigh as she stared at Lara. "Fine! Let’s do it," she said with a smile.
"Woohoo!" Henry yelled excitedly.
Meanwhile, Jessica kept her gaze fixed on Olive, biting her lip seductively. Olive couldn’t help but swallow nervously as Jessica refused to look away.
’Stop staring at me, girl. I’m just a girl like you,’ Olive thought to herself as she stood up. "Alright, guys, let’s meet tonight. I’ll start getting ready," she added before making her way out of the cafeteria. She didn’t leave because of any preparation but rather because of Jessica’s gaze.
