Chapter 617: Chapter 616: I Am the Incarnation of Power!!
Time slipped by, minute by second.
Gazing into the pitch-black night sky, Ripvan Winkle extended her hand and gently caressed the long-barreled firearm in her grasp. As a member of millennium, she was a vampire with formidable strength. She could manipulate bullets at will, sending them speeding towards her target with precision. It was because of her extraordinary power that she had been assigned by the Major to come here.
She knew what she had to do and what she would face. This was her destiny, as well as millennium’s. Her purpose here was to lure Alucard into the trap.
"Hmm... hmm-hmm..."
Humming the opera of the Magic Shooter, Ripvan Winkle swayed left and right in a dance upon the deck, then she turned her head to look into the distance—where she saw three fighter jets emerging from the mists, rapidly descending in altitude and, upon locking onto the aircraft carrier, immediately launching missiles.
"Swoosh swoosh swoosh!!"
Six missiles, trailing white streaks, hurtled towards the carrier. Under normal circumstances, a carrier of such size would have no chance to steer clear, and even with the use of an anti-air system, it would be difficult to completely defend against such a concentrated barrage of missiles.
But... their enemy was not one that could be dealt with via conventional means.
"Boom!!"
The six launched missiles had barely approached the aircraft carrier when they were pierced by a bullet. The next instant, six bursts of flames appeared in the night sky, blooming like fireworks.
"Whoosh——!"
Immediately after, a magic bullet shot out from the flames, weaving through the air with arcs and curves like a living demon creature, quickly forming a large net as it flew towards the three fighter jets. Confronted with this sudden attack, the jets frantically banked in evasion attempts, but their maneuvers were meaningless against the magic bullet; the lines formed by the bullet easily penetrated the bodies of the planes, and with another round of explosions, the jets were transformed into fireballs and plummeted into the sea.
"Jetzt auf! In Bergen und Kluften..."
The burning fireballs, as if a backdrop to the opera, were accompanied by a woman striding forward on the deck, softly humming to herself as she held the magic spear.
But before long, she abruptly stopped her humming and looked up at the night sky with a puzzled expression.
The wind had stopped.
Sometime unknown, the gales that howled across the sea ceased, and the waves seemed to have vanished without a trace. The moonlight, once comforting, now dimmed and shone with a cold, mortuary light—like the lamps in a morgue—casting a chilling glow over the area.
"................"
The hand gripping the magic spear began to tremble, and an indescribable sense of tension emerged from deep within her. It felt as if something was approaching, yet she had absolutely no idea what it could be!
"Lieutenant!"
At that moment, a vampire soldier responsible for operating the radar suddenly spoke out loud.
"Anomalies detected on radar! An unidentified heat source rapidly approaching our location! Speed 1.2 Mach, altitude eighteen thousand!"
"Is it a jet?"
"No... whatever it is, it’s much larger than a jet! That, that is..."
At this point, there was no need for the soldier to say more, for everyone had already seen it—the immense and pitch-black figure emerging from beneath the moonlight.
"Am I dreaming?"
Upon seeing the massive silhouette, almost everyone couldn’t believe their eyes. The huge body flying out from the clouds, with wings grand enough to eclipse the moonlight, and those golden yellow pupils...
A dragon?
Although their minds had comprehended what the creature was, they seemed to be in denial. It was rather ludicrous; they had been reincarnated as vampires and ghouls, attaining abilities far beyond that of ordinary humans. Yet, even these non-human creatures, upon sighting the colossal being in front of them, had only one thought in mind.
This defies science...
"Quick! Activate the anti-air barrage and prepare to launch missiles, bring it down!!"
However, the vampire soldiers soon snapped back to reality, and one of them quickly issued an order. Upon receiving the command, the others sprang into action, and in no time, the carrier’s anti-air guns rotated and boomed, firing bullets in the direction of the terrifying giant dragon. Simultaneously, several anti-air missiles quickly locked on to the target and rushed towards the huge shadow in the sky.
Facing the oncoming missiles, the massive figure didn’t dodge but instead charged headlong into them. Then, with a series of explosions, the figure was engulfed in the fiery light of the missiles’ detonation.
"Phew..."
Watching this unfold, the vampire soldiers breathed a sigh of relief, still unaware of what exactly was happening. But regardless, even a dragon couldn’t possibly remain unscathed against missiles, right?
But to their surprise, before they could even catch their breath, the fiery explosion and smoke in the sky were suddenly torn apart, and the pitch black Giant Dragon emerged once more from the flames, charging straight at the battleship without any hesitation! Moreover, from its appearance, it seemed that the exploding missiles had not inflicted the slightest damage to the Giant Dragon!
"Quick, anti-air barrage! Fast!!"
Seeing the Giant Dragon attacking the battleship again, the leading Commander was also shocked and hurriedly shouted out orders. Soon, the anti-aircraft guns roared to life and began to rotate, firing countless bullets at the Giant Dragon once more.
But then... what happened next simply drove these Soldiers to despair.
The bullets, which could easily tear through fighter jets, hit the body of the Giant Dragon as if they were plastic BB pellets, causing no harm whatsoever. On the contrary, they could even see the sparks caused by the bullets striking the Dragon’s scales and the trajectory of the ricochets sliding off!
"Haah... Haah... How is this possible? This can’t be..."
Clutching the Magic Spear in her hands, Ripvan was trembling immensely at this moment. She watched as the colossal black silhouette dove towards her, but she was completely unable to make any move. An immense fear, like an invisible giant hand, firmly grasped her body and soul; she couldn’t even raise the Magic Spear in her hands to counterattack!
"Why? Why is this happening?!"
But that was the end of Ripvan’s screams.
Because at that moment, the massive Black Dragon had heavily landed on the deck in front of the battleship, its immense impact causing the entire ship to tilt like a seesaw. At this point, the Vampires finally gave up all resistance. They clung to the railings, screaming, for fear of being thrown into the seemingly bottomless sea before them.
However, before they could prepare themselves, a dazzling light covered everyone’s field of vision.
Intense, bursting flames spewed forth from the Dragon’s mouth, enveloping the entire battleship and turning it into a massive furnace in an instant.
"This... this... this..."
The woman clutched her Magic Spear tightly, staring blankly at the massive Shadow ahead of her. Before her eyes, the entire battleship had turned into Purgatory, with the relentless flames scorching everything they touched. Ghouls and Vampires screamed as they turned to Ash in the flames, the hot air tumbled, and soon after, the flames dissipated, and a figure emerged from within.
"Are you the leader of these Vampires, woman?"
At this moment, Fang Zheng had changed back into the clothes he wore in the Main World, regaining the Dragon Race’s power to Transform and Shapeshift. There he stood, wielding Dual Swords, walking out from the flames, his golden eyes coldly fixed on the woman before him.
"You... what... are you...?"
Seeing Fang Zheng before her, Ripvan could no longer even utter a complete sentence. She knew she was bait, but... she had come here to lure Alucard! But now, not only had she not waited for Alucard, instead, a Giant Dragon had shown up?!
Why? Why would there be Dragons in this world?!
"Ahhh... Ahhh..."
As Fang Zheng approached her once again, Ripvan trembled all over. She screamed as she raised her firearms, aiming at Fang Zheng.
"No, no, don’t come any closer!!"
"Bang!!"
While screaming, Ripvan pulled the trigger. The Magic Bullet whizzed out, trailing a dazzling path through the air towards Fang Zheng.
However, faced with the speeding Magic Bullet, Fang Zheng didn’t even dodge. He simply stretched out his hand, gently grasped it in the air ahead of him, and caught it.
"Click."
The Magic Bullet, powerful enough to penetrate a steel warplane, was effortlessly caught in Fang Zheng’s hand like a small stone, then he clenched his fist tightly. When Fang Zheng opened his hand again, the Magic Bullet had completely disappeared, turned into just a cloud of dust.
"Ahh... Ahhh... Ahhh..."
Witnessing this scene, the woman’s eyes widened in terror, her body shaking uncontrollably, unsure of what to say. In desperation, she raised her Magic Spear, but before she could make another move, Fang Zheng’s figure flashed, and he was instantly in front of the woman. He then grasped her by the neck and lifted her high.
"No, don’t... don’t..."
In the face of the unmasked eruption of Dragon Might, Ripvan had long since lost the calm and composure she had earlier. She screamed like a little girl, shaking and pleading. But it was of no use. Fang Zheng simply coldly watched his prey in front of him, raised his Greatsword, and thrust it forward.
"Ahhhhhh!"
The pitch-black Greatsword directly pierced through the woman’s chest, pinning her firmly to the wall. The intense pain caused the woman’s limbs to twitch uncontrollably, and a warm liquid began to seep out from between her legs, releasing a strong, pungent smell.
The next moment, scorching flames erupted from the Greatsword, instantly enveloping the woman before it.
