Chapter 362: Chapter 361: Time to Head to the New World Again
In the following days, Fang Zheng lived both leisurely and fulfilling days.
He was not without concern for the other young girls in his team, but the messages coming from the Sanctuary of Reflection were very limited, and there was no news at all from the Land of Wealth and the Kingdom of Flame... Fang Zheng was not surprised by this, as the two girls knew what their choices meant when they originally teamed up. Of course, considering they were teammates after all, Fang Zheng had given each of them a Teleportation Stone before parting, so they could Teleport to the Heavenly Dao Palace if their lives were in danger, as Fang Zheng was quite generous to lovely girls.
The only thing Fang Zheng knew was about the younger Astrologer who had successfully passed the assessment and graduated to become a member of the Royal Astrologers. Fang Zheng had even received a letter from her, which also invited him to visit the capital of the Kingdom of the Holy Church. At the same time, the Astrologer had casually included an invitation from the Sanctuary Church, but after much consideration, Fang Zheng decided to hold off on going for the time being.
Although Fang Zheng was no longer concealing his identity, this did not mean he planned to interact with the Kingdom of the Holy Church at present; one must maintain a bit of dignity. If I went just because they asked me to, wouldn’t it seem like I lacked face?
After returning to the Heavenly Dao Palace, Fang Zheng spent almost all his time pondering and creating his own swordsmanship; although he was not purely a warrior, Fang Zheng was not altogether without ways to address this issue. In fact, after several training sessions with Black Katie, Fang Zheng had almost mastered the trick.
"Hmm... So, if I work on it this way... I should be able to handle the first three moves, right?"
Looking at the paper in front of him which bore illustrations, Fang Zheng held a pen and scribbled on it, while muttering to himself.
And what was depicted on this paper was nothing else but Fang Zheng’s own plans for his swordsmanship.
That’s right, plans.
Fang Zheng was neither a qualified Swordsman nor Mage; he was clueless about the ways the people of this world comprehended and created their own Swordsmanship. But this did not mean that Fang Zheng had no way to solve it, he was now leveraging his strengths, creating his own swordsmanship by utilizing a "setting" method. For Fang Zheng, this was not difficult, as he only needed to extract sufficient elements and then draw them in the manner of game character Skill settings, followed by adjustments and refinements through practice.
So far, Fang Zheng had completed the settings for three Skills. They were "One Sword", "Second Sword", and "Third Sword"... Of course, the names of these Skills didn’t sound cool, but for Fang Zheng, the names could be changed anytime; what mattered first was to confirm the techniques themselves.
The so-called One Sword involved Fang Zheng using the Power of Time from the Time Dragon and the Power of Shadows from Shadow Dragon to create a clone of himself on the same Time Axis, attacking the enemy together with his clone. Both shared the same abilities, and by controlling just one clone, Fang Zheng could adjust his reaction speed to the fastest. As of now, One Sword was the Skill Fang Zheng used most proficiently.
The Second Sword added an additional clone responsible for chanting and releasing Magic at the back, working with Fang Zheng’s original body and another clone for long-range suppression and obstruction. The Third Sword, however, was still incomplete; Fang Zheng’s current idea was to create a clone that specializes in mid-range or stealth attacks, although he hadn’t found a suitable weapon for this to date.
Yes, weapons.
Through training, Fang Zheng had discovered that the mirror clones pulled from the Time Axis could perfectly wield any weapon he possessed. This meant that if Fang Zheng had enough powerful weapons, the power of this Skill would greatly increase. Unfortunately, at present, the only suitable weapons Fang Zheng possessed were Sky-Cleaving Sword and Vampire, which were just passable.
Among them, the Vampire Greatsword, as the main weapon, naturally had to be used by Fang Zheng himself, while Sky-Cleaving Sword could serve as an auxiliary equipment for the clone.
Besides these, the only other weapon Fang Zheng had was a Forbidden Whip, but this weapon was used for AOE against weaker enemies and wasn’t suitable for actual combat against stronger opponents. Also, if possible, Fang Zheng would like to find a weapon that could assist in casting, to be used by his long-range casting clone.
In Fang Zheng’s concept, the completed form of this Skill would need nine clones, each handling responsibilities in short, mid, and long range—responsible for sniping, restraining, AOE, and functions such as MT, damage output, and backstab sneaking.
In the case of long-range clones besides restraining, the most critical was to take on Fang Zheng’s responsibility of escaping. If switched like a simple clone from the Shadow Dragon, it could be easily restrained by space spells like Dimensional Anchor. However, Fang Zheng’s switch was built on the intertwining of the Time Axis, so unless it was an environment isolating both space and time, escaping would be an easy task for him.
Unfortunately, in the World of Shana, he had only obtained the useful Vampire Greatsword, which was somewhat disappointing. It seemed that in future worlds, he needed to carefully consider and search for suitable weapons to use.
Although he also owned the Ironblood World, the world of Ironblood was basically all high-tech weapons, which were somewhat futile against enemies from the Main World. However, Fang Zheng was not worried; after all, many games and movies had weapons with properties like "Demon-Slaying", "Instant Kill", "Poisoning", "Cursing". If he could get his hands on such weapons, it would naturally be more than good for Fang Zheng.
Then, coming up next......
"Gada."
While Fang Zheng was lost in thought, a steaming cup of coffee was placed in front of him, followed by a soft voice by his ear.
"Here’s your coffee, sir."
"Thank you, Satono."
Upon hearing this voice, Fang Zheng looked up and smiled faintly at the girl beside him, with a furry ball on top of her head—he later learned that the fluffy sphere was actually a rabbit.
Well, it was the first time Fang Zheng had seen such a fluffy rabbit, complete with cat-like triangular ears.
"You’re welcome."
Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Satono lowered her head shyly, then used the serving tray to cover her mouth as she stepped back. Over time, Fang Zheng had come to know her a bit: she was the granddaughter of the café owner and quite skilled at making coffee. Unfortunately, although Satono’s coffee was tasty, everyone around Fang Zheng still had different preferences.
Fang Zheng, Nanali, and Tilia were part of the coffee faction, while Black Katie and Kuliya preferred tea, and Nymph was fine with either. Of course, to accommodate Black Katie and Kuliya, Fang Zheng had once again spent 100 furniture coins to exchange for a beverage shop called "Fleur de Lapin" that specialized in herbal teas. Fang Zheng had also tried them a few times and had to admit that herbal tea had its unique flavors, but for working, coffee indeed felt more right for him.
"Hmm... the taste of the coffee is as wonderful as ever."
With his eyes closed, savoring the rich coffee, Fang Zheng felt as if he had returned to the past. Hmm... this plan needs some revisions, I’ll have to speak with the development team later, that UI needs a redesign...
Ah, this is truly delightful.
After enjoying the rich coffee, Fang Zheng stood up, placed money on the table, and then nodded toward Satono, who was curiously watching him from behind the counter.
"Satono, I have to go now, I’ll try your coffee again next time."
"Ah, please take care, and you’re welcome again anytime."
Hearing Fang Zheng speak, the girl behind the counter quickly bowed deeply in respect.
Watching this scene, Fang Zheng smiled faintly, then he reached out to push open the door and walked out of the café.
The time had come, and now, it was time for him to head to a new world.
