Dig Up the Sun Emperor's Legacy: I Build an Invincible Undead Legion -
Chapter 43: Oaths Sworn
Chapter 43: Oaths Sworn
Iris knew in her gut that this was another vision brought by the Demigod Mark to her brother.
"Carlos, what do you want me to do?"
"Sis, please make them your vassals.
I think that way, there shouldn’t be any problems."
Carlos added silently to himself:
Even if stuff went sideways, as the future Silver Sword Knight who could take them down, she could handle it in time.
"Alright, I’ll whip them into shape!"
Iris agreed without missing a beat.
And from Carlos’s words, she got the picture crystal clear.
That pair of twins had incredible potential—she could turn them into powerful allies for humanity.
Carlos felt a weight lift off his shoulders—the Shadow Twins mess was finally handled.
Next he should keep building his strength according to plan.
...
After a while, the two shadow accessories suddenly started floating on their own, then slowly vanished into thin air.
Carlos knew they’d been sucked into the spirit realm, which also meant the Spirit-Devouring Mayflies had finished moving out.
"The Spirit-Devouring Mayflies are gone—you can try training again."
Yolanda and Sara quickly closed their eyes, sensing the tiny bits of Spiritual Essence floating in the air.
Then they slowly captured and absorbed it into their souls.
They could clearly feel that this time the Spiritual Essence in their souls didn’t just disappear!
"Yo... Yolanda, we can train again!"
Sara’s gorgeous eyes couldn’t help tearing up with joy as she excitedly tried to hug her best friend, but grabbed nothing but air.
"? Where the hell did she go???"
Turning around, she saw her friend "excitedly" hugging Young Master Carlos in a death grip.
"Little Carlos, you’ve saved me and Sara again!"
Yolanda said softly, her beautiful face getting closer and closer.
"I really don’t know how to pay you back. Maybe..."
Carlos’s whole body went rigid for a second, feeling like...
Just then, a hand came down from above, pulling the excited Yolanda back.
"Yolanda, no—little Carlos isn’t legal yet."
It was sister Iris—she had to think about her brother’s healthy development.
"Yes, Captain, I get it."
Yolanda straightened her clothes a bit, sneakily winking at Carlos with those flowing eyes.
But Sara walked over, dropped to one knee in front of Carlos, offering her greatsword with both hands in a solemn oath:
"From today on, your word is law. I, Sara, will dedicate my life to serving you!"
Carlos instinctively responded according to MMO procedures from his past life:
"I, Carlos Valois, will share glory with you!"
After saying this, he kind of regretted it—he hadn’t planned on taking on followers yet.
But he’d already said it, so he had to roll with it, taking Sara’s offered greatsword,
then pulling out a white quality spirit equipment greatsword and personally placing it in her hands.
Sara stood up, treating the spirit equipment greatsword like a treasure.
Yolanda’s eyes narrowed—how could she not catch her best friend’s drift?
She quietly moved to Carlos’s ear: "Me too, Young Master Carlos. Anywhere."
Carlos felt this woman was way too... his emotions were all over the place.
After speaking, without waiting for Carlos’s reaction, she turned and dropped to one knee like Sara, solemnly swearing loyalty:
"From today on, your word is law. I, Yolanda, will dedicate my life to serving you!"
"..."
Carlos went through the whole ritual again, reluctantly picking out a greatsword to give her—with slightly better stats than Sara’s, which definitely wasn’t playing favorites.
Iris watched all this totally blown away.
She hadn’t expected her scheme from ten years ago would actually pay off today.
"Maybe this is all meant to be..."
Iris secretly figured out how to quickly train this pair of former subordinates to protect Carlos.
"Even though they’ve wasted ten years,
from what I can sense, their souls are surprisingly powerful—even stronger than many Mid-tier Psionics.
Maybe they can level up fast through spirituality enhancement rituals."
...
After sister Iris took the four women to register with the Half-Elf Guard, Carlos went back to his room.
"Whew, finally done."
Even though the four women’s situation didn’t take long, it was mentally draining as hell.
In just over ten days, it felt more exhausting than grinding monsters in the Withered Lands for four months.
Pushing thoughts about the four women out of his head,
Carlos pulled out the Brain Beast, carefully setting it on the table, then taking out the support materials for the ’Vision Sharing’ magic circle one by one.
These support materials were all grabbed from the family vault.
"Blood Essence x5, Blue Light Powder x2, Soul Flower x10..."
He checked each one, making sure types and amounts matched his memories exactly.
Carlos started drawing the ’Vision Sharing’ magic circle on the floor.
The material he used was silver liquid—the most common stuff for drawing magic circles.
Silver liquid had awesome spirit-conducting properties, making the magic circle run as smoothly as possible.
About 15 minutes later, after finishing the circle, Carlos placed the Brain Beast and other materials inside.
Then he stood in the main spot and summoned #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard, having it step into the secondary spot.
With everything set up,
Carlos began mysterious chanting:
"&&^^^##^~~..."
As Psionic Energy flowed out from within, the magic circle fired up...
The silver liquid soaked up Psionic Energy, glowing with mysterious light.
The Brain Beast and other materials quickly dissolved, mixing together in weird reactions...
Finally forming a drop of mysterious liquid that split into one big and one small blob, becoming two runes.
The big one went into main body Carlos, the small one merged into secondary body #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard’s soul fire.
Carlos activated the ’Vision Sharing’ rune deep in his soul, and his vision immediately split into two screens.
One was Carlos’s own, one was #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard’s.
Under Carlos’s control, #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard was now looking straight at Carlos.
He could see himself clear as day.
"Nailed it."
Testing wasn’t over—Carlos sent #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard out the door to the courtyard, walking farther and farther away.
From inside the room, Carlos could clearly see everything in front of the Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard.
Busy servants, hardworking guards, flowers in the garden, chairs in the hall...
"Sweet, sweet. This is gonna be super useful for exploring Dark Mist nodes, especially all kinds of ruins."
Carlos was pumped. With #1 Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard’s vision, tons of strategies he’d thought about before could now actually work.
"Come back."
The Purple Thornblade Skeleton Guard returned and Carlos put it away.
Then he cleaned up real quick, threw on his face mask, and headed out.
Next was his most important business since getting back to Ember City:
Using Fantasy Equipment to copy some rare spirit equipment that would be huge for him.
