Chapter 331: Chapter 331

Serena was originally sitting next to Rosemary, but once Kenneth finished speaking, she had to awkwardly stand up and vacate her seat.

A servant moved Serena’s chair next to Louisa. After Serena sat down, she noticed Romeo and Chasel both serving Rosemary food.

"Tastes good," Rosemary said. "They did a good job with the shrimp."

"I’ve never tasted my mom’s cooking before." Chasel also took a bite. Surprised, he looked at Louisa and asked, "Did you do this all by yourself?"

"Is it good?" Louisa asked with a hint of pride. "Bet you didn’t expect my cooking skills to be so on point."

"My wife’s cooking is top-notch!" Kenneth tasted a bite, nodded repeatedly, and praised, "This meat is tender and firm, even better than a professional chef!"

"Indeed, it tastes good; let me try my dad’s cooking." Chasel took a piece of braised abalone, and his eyes lit up. He didn’t expect his sister’s homecoming to inspire his parents’ culinary skills.

"Romeo, this dish is good; you should try it." Chasel also served Romeo food.

"Romeo, eat more!" Louisa also served a lot of food into Romeo’s bowl.

"Romeo, how about some wine?"

As soon as Kenneth picked up the wine bottle, Romeo declined, saying, "I have to drive Rose back to school later."

"I also have to go back to school! Brother-in-law, sister, can you drop me off on your way?"

Serena was at Summerfield College, and Rosemary’s Westerly College was in the same university town. But Romeo and Rosemary simultaneously said, "It’s not convenient."

Rosemary added, "You should let our driver take you."

Serena pretended to be disappointed. "How about it, Chasel? Can you take me back?"

If she couldn’t get Romeo, Chasel was a good alternative. Perhaps afraid that Chasel would refuse, she added, "I heard you’re on vacation at home, with nothing to do?"

Chasel thought that since he now had two sisters, it wouldn’t be fair to just drive one of them, so he declined, as Rosemary did: "Let our driver take you; I have things to deal with later."

"Alright then." Serena pretended to be disappointed, then picked up her bowl and said, "Chasel, can you serve me a chicken wing? It’s too far for me to reach."

"Chasel, can you pour me some soup from over there?" Serena showed a sweet smile. "Thanks, Chasel; I knew you were always the best to me!"

During the meal, Serena tried every means to let Chasel serve her alone, wanting Rosemary to know that in this family, Chasel listened to her. She was the one truly loved by the Collins family for eighteen years!

"You’re such a princess," Kenneth laughed. "Look at Rose; she doesn’t need to bother Chasel."

"It’s because Chasel spoils me," Serena pretended to be happy.

After dinner, Rosemary received a message from her subordinates.

[Boss, there’s no one at your front door.]

No one? Did that person leave?

"I’m going out for a bit; wait for me here."

After Rosemary left, Romeo and Chasel looked at each other, feeling somewhat puzzled. Why did she go for a walk alone? Trying to avoid them on purpose?

"Chasel, have some fruit." Serena served the cut fruits by the servant to Chasel herself, saying with a beaming smile, "They’re all your favorites."

"Thanks." Just as Chasel poked a piece with the fruit fork, Serena seized the opportunity to act spoiled: "Chasel, I can’t eat with this plate in my hand; can you feed me one?"

Chasel got her hint. "You’re all grown up now; do you still want your brother to feed you?"

"I just want you to feed me! So you’re treating me like I’m not your sister just because Rosemary is back?"

Chasel had no choice but to feed her the fruit. "Satisfied now?"

"Satisfied, haha, thanks Chasel!"

Serena then looked to the side and saw Romeo leaving the hall for the garden to meet Rosemary. She said, "I’ll bring some to my brother-in-law too."

"Serena!" Chasel wanted to tell her that Romeo already had a fiancé and it was best to keep a certain distance, but in the blink of an eye, Serena had already run off.

"Romeo, no, brother-in-law, have some fruit?" Serena handed over the fruit plate with both hands, looking all innocent.

But Romeo didn’t even take a glance and stood up, ready to head for the door.

"Just having some fruit, you don’t even want that?" Serena blocked his way, sounding a bit upset. "Are you afraid I mean something else? I didn’t poison the fruit; I just simply wanted you to have some. Do you hate me this much? Won’t even eat the fruit I’m serving?"

Romeo glanced at her impatiently and said, "Keep it away."

Serena was a bit down. "Even if you don’t like me, you don’t have to take it out on our family’s fruit, right? It’s also from my sister’s house! Just pretend it’s Rosemary offering it. If you eat one piece, I’ll leave." Serena showed a mischievous smile, poked a piece of mango, and handed it to him, saying, "Come on, just one piece."

"Can’t you understand what I’m saying?" There was a hint of displeasure in Romeo’s eyes. "I’ve told you, stop wasting your time on me."

"Can’t I even offer you some fruit?" Serena looked a bit upset, looking quite pitiful. "If it were my sister serving you the fruit, you would definitely eat it without hesitation, right? No, with her personality, she would never serve you fruit. You’ve always been taking care of her, but she doesn’t know how to return the favor. Romeo."

"Enough." Romeo didn’t want to hear more and passed her towards the door.

"Romeo!" Serena quickly called him. "I wanted to tell you today that I have a boyfriend now! I’ve gotten over you! If all goes well, I might marry him. You don’t have to be so cautious about me; I’ll keep my distance if you don’t want me close."

Romeo stopped. How could he not know her sudden change was a strategic retreat? He thought he was easy to fool.

"Wish you and my sister happiness." Serena was ready to turn around and leave after saying this, but seeing Chasel, she obediently called out, "Chasel, I’ll go in first if there’s nothing else."

Chasel nodded, then looked at Romeo’s retreating figure. He saw Serena bothering Romeo just now and thought Serena couldn’t let go of the marriage, but hearing what she said later, Chasel’s doubts were gone, and it seemed he was overthinking.

"Serena probably has no other intentions towards you."
