Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife -
Chapter 257
Chapter 257: Chapter 257
"If you guys don’t apologize, don’t even think about hanging around Summerfield anymore."
"Apologize!"
"Your entire family owes Ms. Rose an apology!"
In the end, Attlee, Olga, and Yolanda had no choice but to swallow their pride and apologize to Rosemary.
"We’re sorry."
They chorused their apologies, never having been so humble before.
"Rose, I’m sorry for not teaching your sister properly and causing you trouble."
"Rose, please forgive Yoli. Remember, we were once family. I’m begging you."
"I’m sorry, Rosemary. Please forgive me! I’ll watch my mouth from now on."
Their heads were kept low, and their bodies were hunched. This was the first time in their lives they had ever kowtowed to Rosemary.
Romeo gently stroked Rosemary’s hair, saying softly, "If you’re not satisfied, I can make them kneel and apologize, or would you like to see them go bankrupt?"
The faces of the Harris family trio instantly turned pale, fearing that Romeo might actually make these things happen because he had the power to do so!
"No need." Rosemary sounded impatient. "Just leave."
When Attlee came back to his senses, he looked up to see that the daughter they once looked down upon had become someone they couldn’t afford to offend. His feelings were mixed. They once thought her family was poor and even wanted to cut ties, but now...
"Thank you." He never thought he would one day thank Rosemary for letting them go and for not humiliating them further.
He prepared to leave with Olga and Yolanda.
"Hold on."
A powerful voice suddenly rang out. Everyone turned toward the sound and saw an energetic old man stepping out from the crowd. He was dressed in an expensive suit with two assistants by his side.
Attlee instantly recognized him as the head of Luna Capital, a world-renowned venture capital group. His group was even bigger than Allbara Investment. He had amassed wealth through small businesses and later began investing. His insight was unique. Almost every project he invested in was a success. He had invested in many industries over the past decades, and his personal fortune was substantial.
Attlee had met him a few times before and knew he was an old friend of his mother, Grace Harris. However, they didn’t meet often because he usually stayed overseas.
Did he show up today for this piece of land? He had just happened to witness the earlier incident. Was he helping the Harris family because of his connection with his mother?
With this thought, Attlee felt he had found a lifeline and rushed forward, saying, "Mr. Rollins, long time no see."
"Mr. Rollins, I didn’t expect to bump into you in this auction today." Olga was taken aback, and a lump formed in her throat. She was ready to spill out all the grievances they had just suffered. They had been utterly embarrassed!
It might have been three to four years since they last met, but it didn’t affect the friendship between the Harris family and the Rollins family. If it weren’t for Mr. Rollins being abroad so often, she would have almost forgotten that the Harris family had such a big shot backing them up.
Thinking about it, her voice choked even more. "You saw what happened just now, and we—"
"You guys crossed the line."
Alberto Rollins’ sudden accusation took the Harris family by surprise. What the hell was he on about? Wasn’t Mr. Rollins supposed to have their back? Seemed like he’s actually here to stir up trouble!
"My granddaughter is being nice by not holding a grudge!"
Attlee was stunned; it took him a while to realize that he was referring to Rosemary.
"Mr. Rollins, you’re constantly abroad; you might not know. Rosemary isn’t a Harris by blood; she’s now with the Collins family. You don’t need to treat her as your granddaughter."
So, Mr. Rollins thought that Rosemary was the daughter of the Harris family, Grace’s granddaughter, and that’s why he wanted to help. Attlee breathed a sigh of relief. Good, that wasn’t the case.
Speaking of which, Mr. Rollins was still a bachelor without any kids. If he could make Yoli his adopted daughter, she would be the sole heir to his massive fortune.
"But I still consider her my flesh and blood!" Alberto’s voice boomed, shaking everyone’s hearts. "In my life, I can negotiate on anything, but when it comes to my granddaughter, that’s my bottom line. You crossed it today!"
The Harris family was dumbstruck; they couldn’t believe what they were hearing.
"To my knowledge, my granddaughter has been ignored rather than cared for by you guys. Instead, your current status and position are all thanks to her!"
Alberto was dressed to the nines; even his voice was full of power, exuding an authoritative aura.
"Now you dare to bully her in front of me. Someone should take them to the mental hospital for an evaluation. Let’s see if they’re nuts."
Before his words even finished echoing, a few people dragged them out.
"Mr. Rollins, you have no right to do this." Olga was terrified and struggling. "Let go of me; what are you doing? Let me go!"
"Mr. Rollins, did you ever consider your friendship with my mother before doing this?" Attlee couldn’t break free; he could only shout in protest.
Alberto’s eyes were sharp and furious. "If it wasn’t for my friendship with Grace, you’d be spending the rest of your lives in a mental hospital."
The Harris family looked shocked, unable to believe what was happening.
Yolanda couldn’t stop crying. "Grandpa Alberto, I’m your real granddaughter. You should love me. I’m still young; please spare me."
She wasn’t crazy; she didn’t want to go to a mental hospital for an evaluation! Even if she had to be evaluated, she wanted to go to a normal hospital!
Sending them to the loony bin was just an excuse, wasn’t it? They bullied Rosemary, and he wanted to teach them a lesson, right? She ain’t stupid!
"You’re young, and that’s why you need guidance! Your grandmother is not well; I can’t have folks like you upsetting her," Alberto said, waving his hand, and the Attlee family was taken away.
The crowd went wild.
Alberto addressed the audience, saying, "I might be out of the country a lot, but nothing in this country escapes my attention."
His gaze swept over the crowd. "Rosemary is the only one I acknowledge and cherish in my life. If anyone dares to bully her, it’s a direct disrespect to me!" In other words, think twice before they mess with her!
