Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife -
Chapter 245
Chapter 245: Chapter 245
Thinking back, Attlee remembered Caden once saying that Grace’s health was all thanks to Rosemary.
They used to dismiss this girl’s capabilities, but were they wrong?
He suddenly sneered at himself for how arrogant they had been, actually believing that Rosemary needed to find a job or rely on wealthy folks to live in Summerfield. Three years ago, the rise of the LY brand was all because of Rosemary. She had way more funds and resources than they did; she didn’t need a job, nor did she need to depend on a man’s money.
Not to mention her piano talent and her excellent grades at a prestigious school.
Every time they blamed her for not caring about herself, she would respond with sarcasm and disdain.
They really misunderstood her.
She was standing on her own two feet in Summerfield.
Every time she went to the hospital, it was to deliver expensive medicine to Grace, not to fight for her inheritance.
Grace’s shares were worth thirty million dollars, but just these expensive medicines cost her six hundred thousand dollars, plus the smartphones, bracelets, jewels, and other gifts she had given.
It exceeded the total value of the old lady’s shares.
She hadn’t had any inappropriate relationships with men. She knew Caden; that’s why Caden became the old lady’s primary doctor.
She was the founder of LY, so it only made sense that she was close with Dylan from Allbara Investment.
She didn’t lack wealth or resources, and she didn’t need to depend on men.
It was they who were full of themselves, misunderstanding her.
"Mom, hearing you say this, I really regret it; I blame myself," Olga cried bitterly, and after a while, she raised her eyes and said, "We owe her so much!"
Before Grace could speak, Olga’s tears flowed again, and she regretfully said, "Mom, can you help us, play the peacekeeper, and reconcile us with her? If you speak, she will certainly forgive us."
Grace shook off her hand, coldly saying, "I can’t help you."
"Mom, we don’t know who else to turn to other than you; please help us!"
Olga once again grabbed her hand, tears streaming down as she begged, "We thought we were so great these years, but it turns out Rosemary was helping us all along. We really regret it. We are so upset. Can you help us? Give us a chance to make amends?"
Grace didn’t answer, turning her face away, obviously not believing her words.
"You don’t want to see our family decline, right? If Dad could see from heaven, how sad and upset he would be to see the relationship between Rosemary and our family now?"
Attlee knelt down, eyes filled with tears, and said, "Mom, please help us! The company has been in so much trouble recently that I’ve sold many of my properties and shops, but it’s still not enough to save the company; it’s going under!"
"The company wasn’t built by you guys; even if it goes bankrupt, you shouldn’t be here feeling sorry for yourselves!"
Grace finally understood that they were not truly regretful; they just didn’t want to see the company go bankrupt, lose their status as the wealthiest, and lose this luxurious lifestyle.
This was what they really cared about!
"If the company goes under, you guys totally have it coming," Grace said angrily.
Attlee took a couple of steps forward and knelt, tightly holding his mother’s hand. "Mom, it’s not just about the company. A few days ago, Yoli said some not–so–nice things, and Rose might’ve misunderstood. She’s even talking about suing Yoli. She’s not just demanding compensation but also a public apology from Yoli. Yoli might even end up in jail."
This meant that Rose was totally not backing down and was determined to make Yoli pay!
"Well, Yoli must have said something really out of line to get Rose to react this way," Grace didn’t ask for details but instead said, "Rose did the right thing!"
"Mom? You just sided with Rose without even asking? Isn’t Yoli your own granddaughter? How can you let a stranger bully your own flesh and blood?"
Olga got so worked up that she almost blew her cool. If Attlee hadn’t shot her a look, she would’ve kept going.
"Mom, Yoli really messed up this time," Attlee picked up, with a shameful look on his face. "I made Yoli apologize to her privately. Olga and Yoli both knelt before Rose. I tried to smooth things over, but Rose’s totally lost faith in us."
Seeing that Grace still ignored him, Attlee took another step forward. "Mom, would you call her over for us? We’ll apologize to her again, even kneel if we have to!"
Olga clenched her fists. Apologize to Rose again, on their knees? They’d totally lose face! Attlee’s suggestion was absolutely boneheaded.
"Are you guys really sorry when you apologize on your knees?"
Before they could answer, Grace sneered and said sarcastically, "You guys are just trying to save your own skins. You can’t stand the thought of losing your current status. Do you really think that a half–hearted apology would make Rose go all in for you like before?"
Attlee looked embarrassed. He didn’t expect his mother to see through them so clearly, unswayed by their tears and sweet talk.
All he could do was plead, "Mom, you’re the key to all this. That girl respects you so much. We don’t mind if she doesn’t acknowledge our efforts in raising her, but you’ve taken care of her all these years. If you ask her for anything in return, she’ll surely agree!"
Helping the Harris family out of their crisis and not suing Yoli, Rose could totally do it!
The smile on Grace’s face turned colder. She never thought she’d see the day where her son and daughter–in–law would be so heartless, asking her to demand payback from Rose.
"What nerve you guys have to say all these things!" Grace swept the breakfast off the small bedside table onto the floor. "You guys just don’t know when to quit. You only want to take advantage of Rose!"
"Mom."
"Get out! Don’t bother coming back!"
The sudden movement of breakfast being swept onto the floor scared Olga. If the food hadn’t landed on the other side, they would’ve been the victims!
She had specially chosen an expensive dress for her visit to the hospital today, and it was almost ruined.
Luckily, nothing happened, or else she would’ve had to foot the dry cleaning bill.
Seeing how angry his mother was, Attlee quickly stood up and gently patted her back. "Mom, don’t be upset. We really want to make peace with Rose; it’s not like what you think."
"Get out." Grace didn’t want to hear any more of their excuses. She was so mad she couldn’t stop coughing, her face turning red.
