Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife -
Chapter 207
Chapter 207: Chapter 207
"What’s so impossible about that? Your sis is loaded with talents. Isn’t that reasonable?" Louisa shot him a sideway glance, seemingly finding his astonishment amusing.
David was stunned for a while before asking, "Didn’t Rose just finish her college entrance examination?"
She’s only eighteen! In the prime of her innocent years!
How could she possibly be the founder of LY? Or the famous pianist and composer Melody?
What on earth happened to her to bring about such a massive change?
"Oh, by the way, the one who aced the college entrance examination this year was also your sister."
Louisa’s tone was calm, but David was stunned again. Shock couldn’t even begin to describe his feelings.
He heard this year’s college entrance examination was a tough nut to crack, twice as difficult as last year. And Rose aced them?
Worse still, he had just mocked her for being arrogant and bad–tempered. Was it too late for regrets now?
He just got back and hadn’t had the chance to show off in front of his sister, and his image was already down the drain.
What should he do? Can he pretend to have some mental breakdown? How can he get out of this mess?
"Bro, you’re back?"
A cheerful voice snapped David back to reality.
Serena ran to David happily, pulled out a chair and sat down, her eyes sparkling with joy and surprise.
Facing David, she felt much more relaxed, unlike the tension and caution she felt when she saw Hunter Collins. She was completely at ease now.
"Bro, when did you get back? Why didn’t you tell me in advance, so I could pick you up at the airport?"
"With David’s popularity, there would be a crowd at the airport to pick him up, and we wouldn’t get a chance to meet him." Martha said, beaming at David, "David, you have no idea how often Serena talks
about you. It’s like my ears are gonna grow calluses."
The servants around were at a loss for words. The last time when Hunter came back, Martha said the same thing. She’s quite a turncoat.
"Bro, about the favour I asked you last time." Serena hesitated, her eyes full of anticipation.
"I’ve taken care of it!" David smiled and patted her head, "Evelyn’s ten autographs are in my bag. I’ll give them to you later."
"Awesome! I knew you’re the best!" Serena’s face lit up with a pure and innocent smile.
She’s a fan of Evelyn, a renowned dancer. Evelyn participated in David’s reality show as a mentor this year, so Serena seized the opportunity to ask David for Evelyn’s autograph.
With David’s status, getting a few autographs was a piece of cake.
"I have her WhatsApp, and I can give it to you later."
Upon hearing this, Serena was overjoyed, her voice even sweeter, "Thank you!!"
She glanced at Rosemary subconsciously, her eyes filled with defiance and show–off as if saying:
"Brother got me ten autographs from a star and added her on WhatsApp, while you got nothing! Who’s more important in his heart? see it for yourself!"
Rosemary was at a loss for words. Was it really necessary to make such a fuss over ten autographs?
"Rose, do you have any favourite stars in the entertainment industry? If so, don’t mention autographs and pictures. If you like him, next time he attends an event, I’ll take you there for a face–to–face chat."
Serena rolled her eyes, not buying Rosemary’s claim.
The servant nearby was also surprised. A girl her age not into celebs? But then again, Ms. Rose was not your average girl.
"Alright, enough chit–chat. Your midnight snacks are getting cold. Dig in." Louisa didn’t touch the food, but she picked up a big shrimp.
David was touched. He reached for his bowl. "Mom, I haven’t been home in so long. You still remember what I like to eat."
Before he could finish, he saw his mother peel the shrimp and put it in Rosemary’s bowl.
"Rose, Mom knows you love seafood, eat up!" Louisa picked up another shrimp, peeled it and put it in Rosemary’s bowl. "Tonight’s snacks are mainly seafood, also some barbeque you youngsters love. Mix
and match, enjoy."
She didn’t want to restrict her daughter with "healthy eating". As long as her daughter was happy, everything was acceptable.
Rosemary smiled slightly, "Thanks, Mom, it’s delicious."
"If you like it, eat more. I can have the kitchen prepare it every day!" Only then did Louisa give Serena a shrimp.
Even though it was peeled, Serena was full of resentment: Always Rosemary first, her second!
Did anyone ever consider her feelings? They promised to treat her like their own, all lies!!
Louisa picked up a skewer of salt and pepper shrimp. David thought his mother had finally remembered him. But the next second, he saw her put the shrimp in Rosemary’s bowl.
"Rose, this smells really good. You should try it."
David was being so blatantly ignored that even the servants couldn’t help but pity him. David’s status in the family was so low he was practically invisible.
After a while, David saw his mother pick up a squid, and he quickly reached for his bowl. "Mom, how did you know I like this?"
Before he could get excited, he saw the squid fall into Rosemary’s bowl.
He couldn’t help but speak up, "Mom, I like squid too!"
"If you want it, why don’t you get it yourself?" Louisa looked at him, annoyed. "Is your hand broken?
You should be thankful you’re not asked to care for your sister and now you’re being picky!"
Definitely his real mom.
Louisa continued to peel shrimp for Rosemary. Seeing Rosemary’s plate piled with shrimp, David thought she couldn’t finish them all and reached for one. But before his hand could touch the shrimp, Louisa slapped it away.
"This is for your sister! Can’t you peel your own?".
After being away for so long, he felt his family status had dropped another level, and he was now at the bottom.
Just as he began questioning himself, Louisa suddenly put a crab leg in his bowl. Before he could show his excitement and gratitude, he heard Louisa’s cold voice.
"Your sister doesn’t like it, so it’s yours."
He was hurting inside, but he dared not show it.
They finished the midnight snack. Serena tried to engage David in conversation, hoping to show off their close sibling relationship in front of Rosemary.
But as soon as David saw Rosemary leaving, he immediately followed her. "Serena, whatever you want to talk about, it can wait. I need to talk to Rose!"
