Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife -
Chapter 138
Chapter 138: Chapter 138
A judge waited until she finished her catwalk, then criticized, "Your white tight–fitting dress, though pretty, easily exposes the extra flab under your arms, messing up the overall look. And your design, it’s supposed to be a strap dress, right?"
The number 10 designer hastily replied, "Yes."
"But your straps are too short. They can’t be worn and must be left on the shoulders, leaving indentations on the skin. It doesn’t look good."
Designer number 10 felt ashamed and bowed her head.
The judge, holding a microphone, expressed disappointment in her work. "Your shoulders are too wide for this off–shoulder dress. You’ve only considered appearance while designing, not the comfort and fit of the wearer. I can only give you 3 points."
The highest score was 10.
Other judges also gave low scores, and the audience gave even lower scores.
Designer number 10 knew she couldn’t move on to the next round, so she thanked everyone and hastily left the stage.
Seeing this, Molly ran back to the restroom and told Rosemary, "Rosemary, what should I do? The judges are so strict, and the audience’s expectations are so high."
Aiming for high scores was not easy.
Rosemary was on her phone. No one knew she was actually in the competition. Everyone thought she was just playing games.
"Rosemary, you look good even when you’re playing games." For some reason, Molly thought Rosemary looked good no matter what she did.
On stage, the number 11 designer did her walk. The president of the Women’s Wear Association, Tess, picked up the mic and criticized, "As for your waist–cinching dress, the waist is only as wide as a palm.
You must be uncomfortable right now, right?"
Designer number 11 couldn’t hold back and nodded. She admitted it was indeed too tight!
"This could easily lead to poor blood circulation. In severe cases, it could even cause rib fractures."
Some audience members laughed when Tess said this.
Tess seriously said, "Don’t think I’m joking. A while ago, an actress was sent to the hospital right after leaving the red carpet. She had actually fractured her ribs. I advise you to take it off now. When
designing in the future, be mindful of the sizing."
After designer number 11 left, designer number 12 took the stage. After her walk, a lot of the audience had to cover their eyes,
The judges were also somewhat speechless. "Actually, before you even took the stage, I noticed your piece. The off–shoulder puff sleeves, cinched waist, and lots of pearls sewn onto the dress, it has a fairy–like feel. But after you put it on."
This gorgeous dress, the zipper at the back, could only be pulled up halfway.
"The dress you’ve designed has a slim cut. Only very thin models can wear it."
After she put it on, she looked bulky.
"As a designer, you can’t just chase after glamour and ignore the practicalities. Also, your pearl necklace doesn’t look good. It makes your neck look thick."
"Next up, let’s welcome contestant number 16!"
As the host’s voice ended, Rosemary gracefully took to the stage.
She wore a long, rose–embroidered white gown and a beautiful crown. Her dignified and elegant appearance immediately captured the attention of everyone present. She was like a princess stepping out from a castle, noble without being cliché, exuding high class and aristocratic temperament.
"She’s so beautiful!"
"She’s even prettier than celebrities!"
"She’s like a fairy. Not only is the dress beautiful, but she is too!"
"Is she assistant to designer number 16? I’ll remember her! I have to find her and sign her as a celebrity!"
"Oh my god, Rosemary?" The president of the Fashion Designers Association of Solterra, Flora, almost spat out her water when she saw her. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and looked
again. It was her!
This big shot in the design world was actually participating in this small competition and as an assistant.
Was it just because she missed this important figure, or was this important figure, having been in high places for too long, bored and wanting to experience the life of ordinary people?
"Do you know her?" Hunter asked from beside her.
Flora suddenly realized she had blurted out her name and hastily explained, "No, I don’t know her."
"But you know her name."
Faced with Hunter’ questioning, Flora didn’t dare to hide any longer, considering his high status.
She couldn’t afford to offend him!
"I’ll tell you, but don’t spread it around." Flora gestured for Hunter to come closer and whispered, "This girl is the head of LY, their creative designer. Everyone calls her Queen Abby, but her real name is Rosemary! I reckon she might be here for a slice of real life."
Otherwise, why the heck would she be an assistant?
Queen Abby?
His sister had another name, Queen Abby.
Hunter was taken aback. So, LY was established by his little sis?
No wonder those 3D embroideries were so exquisite and quickly done.
"A top–notch beauty like her, I wouldn’t mistake!" Flora said, looking at the document, "Is she an employee of the Collins family? How much dough did you guys fork out to get her? She’s just an
assistant, she must be making a cool billion a month, right?"
Hunter stayed silent.
"Definitely not less than a billion, that’s chump change to her."
So, the $2.5 million clover necklace he bought, in her eyes, was just cheap stuff.
At this point, he felt a bit of a whirlwind inside.
Rosemary did a lap on the stage, and just as Flora was about to comment, Hunter beat her to the punch with the mic.
"Are you Rosemary?"
Rosemary looked towards the source of the voice; the man was handsome, and his voice was a deep and friendly hum.
"Yes."
"I’m Hunter. Nice to meet you."
The moment his words fell, everyone was gobsmacked.
Hunter was the usually aloof and quiet CEO. Was he actually chatting with the girl on the stage?
Rosemary was also a bit surprised. Was he a judge today??
"I’m here for you."
When these words came out from Hunter, the audience was once again in uproar.
Was he really here for her? Was he smitten?
Wasn’t he known to be quite ascetic?
Even though Rosemary was a stunner with a great aura, she was just a lowly assistant.
Wasn’t this gap a bit too big?
"Your performance today was stellar, exceeded my expectations." Hunter didn’t expect that she not only managed the company but also founded LY. Despite being a designer, she was willing to be an
assistant to help the juniors.
This kind of magnanimity and vision was not something a common person could match.
Incomparable beauty, Rosemary said, "Thank you."
"I’m really looking forward to your next performance." Hunter gave her full marks straight up!!
The audience was shaken!!
