Chapter 380: Chapter 380 Lia act

However, she made the mistake of reacting—which only seemed to excite Rayan more. He quickly followed her, thinking he still had a chance.

"Look, Lilith..." he called out, stepping beside her with that foolish, hopeful smile orginal owner used to fall for long ago. "Don’t you remember how much you used to love me? We can still be together. I know Lia lied. I know everything now. I can fix it—"

Lilith stopped walking.

Slowly, she turned her head, her heels clicking softly against the pavement as her body faced him fully.

The wind lifted her dark coat, her hair gently brushing across her cheek. But her eyes—those cold, powerful eyes made everything around her feel small.

She looked at him for a long moment.

Then she took a slow breath and asked, voice calm, "Did you think I was waiting?"

Rayan blinked.

She stepped closer, the streetlight casting a shadow across her sharp features.

"Did you think," she said again, this time softer but deadlier, "that I stood still after what you and that girl did?"

Rayan opened his mouth, but no words came.

Lilith’s lips curled into a faint smile, her voice almost playful. "I don’t recycle, Mr. Brook. And I certainly don’t revisit mistakes."

She leaned in, just slightly—close enough that her perfume brushed against his skin like a warning flame.

"You’re lucky I don’t make people like you disappear anymore. I’m civilized now."

Then she straightened her back, gave him one last glance, and turned to walk away with that same elegance... the kind that made him feel like dirt left behind under her shoes.

This time, he didn’t dare follow.

However, just as Lilith stepped off the sidewalk to cross the street, Rayan’s eyes suddenly widened.

A car—dark, fast, and roaring like a beast came speeding down the road without slowing. Its headlights flashed like twin daggers in the night, blinding and cold.

And Lilith, graceful and unaware, was walking directly into its path.

"LILITH!" Rayan shouted, his voice sharp with panic. His heart slammed against his ribs as his feet froze.

Everything slowed.

The lights of the car reflected in her calm, unreadable eyes.

The sound of screeching tires tore through the air.

For a split second, time seemed to collapse.

And the world held its breath.

Lia was crying loudly, her voice trembling and filled with fear as she tried to break free. "Please... please let me go!" she sobbed, her hands trembling as she held onto the edge of the couch, trying to crawl away from the Sofia wrath.

But Sofia wasn’t having it.

"HOW SHOULD I LET YOU GO, HUH?" Sofia screamed, her voice raw, filled with betrayal, pain, and Anger. Her face was red, her eyes wild. "YOU... YOU ACTUALLY SLEPT WITH MY BOYFRIEND!? WITH HIM?! AFTER EVERYTHING I DID FOR YOU?"

Sofia threw a pillow across the room as her body shook. "You—YOU were like a sister to me, Lia! I defended you when everyone talked behind your back. I brought you into my house! I gave you clothes, food, a roof! I—" her voice broke, "I let you stay with me because I thought you had no one."

Lia sobbed harder, crawling to the wall, her back pressed to it as if it could protect her. "I-I didn’t mean to... I didn’t know it would go this far... I thought—"

"YOU THOUGHT WHAT?!" Sofia shouted again, stepping forward, her hands clenched at her sides. "You thought what?! That you could sleep with him once and I’d never find out? That I’d just keep smiling at you while you stabbed me in the back?!"

Lia shook her head violently, tears pouring down her cheeks. "No! No, it wasn’t like that! It started when you were out of town... and he came to me... I tried to stop him, I swear—!"

"Oh, shut up!" Sofia snapped, her voice sharp as knives. "Do you think I’m stupid? You tried to stop him? So why were there texts? Why were you wearing his hoodie last night, huh? You looked so comfortable in it, like you’ve been in his bed more than I have!"

Lia gasped as if those words cut her.

Sofia stepped closer, standing right in front of her. "I trusted you. I told you everything. And you... you were laughing behind my back with him." Her voice was quieter now but filled with venom. "You have no shame."

"I loved him too..." Lia whispered, almost like she hated herself for saying it.

"What?" Sofia froze, blinking.

Lia looked up with puffy eyes and swollen lips, her hands shaking. "I loved him too, okay? I never planned to but I did. I hated myself for it... every day."

Sofia’s face crumbled into something far more painful than anger.

It was heartbreak.

"You... loved him?" Her voice cracked. "Then why didn’t you leave? Why didn’t you at least tell me the truth instead of letting me believe we were still friends?"

Lia didn’t answer.

Sofia shook her head, wiping her tears angrily as she backed away. "You know what hurts the most? Not even him... it’s you. You. The girl I stood up for when people said you were just a desperate fake. I said you were kind. I said you were good."

Lia covered her face with her hands and sobbed.

"And now?" Sofia took a deep breath, voice shaking. "Now I know you’re worse than anyone ever said."

The room was silent, only filled with Lia’s broken sobs.

Sofia turned, walking toward the door. Her voice low, trembling but clear.

"I hope he cheats on you too. Then you’ll know how it feels."

And with that, she slammed the door shut.

"Did she leave?" Sofia boyfriend stepped out from the hallway, his shirt wrinkled and his face pale as he stared at the door that had just slammed shut. His voice was low, shaky, almost like he didn’t want to believe what just happened.

Lia stood frozen near the couch, her eyes still wet with fake tears, her breath slightly uneven from the act she had put on moments ago. She slowly nodded her head. "Yeah... she’s gone," she whispered, lowering her eyes to make it look like she was ashamed.
