Chapter 370: Chapter 370 Betrayal

Krystal eyes burned with urgency as she stared at Lilith. "You need to be careful...very careful. Your father isn’t just rich or cruel. He’s dangerous, Lilith. He has men, money, and no conscience. And now that he knows you’re his daughter... I’m afraid he’ll try to get rid of you. That attack today? It might have been him."

She leaned back against the pillow, exhausted. "I know this is a lot... but please, promise me you’ll stay alert. Don’t trust anyone easily. Even now, I don’t know who around you might be working for him."

But Lilith didn’t give her a promise.

She just stared at her for a few seconds, then turned toward the window.

"I’ll come when you’re discharged," she said simply.

Then she walked out, her heels clicking softly against the hospital floor, not once looking back.

"Elder Lilith is right," Loki muttered under his breath, his little paws padding silently across the floors as he crept after Assistant Quinn. His soft dark fur glimmered faintly under the hallway light, but he was fast and light-footed—just like a shadow. "This man is hiding something. And I’ll find out what."

He had followed Quinn into a quiet part of the city—no signs, no crowds, nothing to hint that there was a facility hidden behind the tall gray walls. From the outside, it looked like an abandoned building or maybe a storage area. But once the door opened, Loki saw the truth.

It was a hospital. Or at least it looked like one. The hallways were clean, walls painted in soft colors, lights dimmed. But there were no signs, no nurses or doctors walking around, and no patients in sight. That was suspicious.

Loki’s ears twitched when he heard footsteps ahead.

"Oh no..." he whispered when a woman walking by noticed him.

"Awwww, look at you!!" she gasped, bending down to grab him.

He quickly darted away, slipping behind a cabinet. She looked around confused before shrugging and walking off. Loki stuck his tongue out once she was gone.

"Pheasants everywhere..." he grumbled, then continued his chase.

Up ahead, Assistant Quinn had entered a private room. The door hadn’t shut all the way. Loki saw his chance and slipped inside before anyone could notice.

Inside, the room was quiet—too quiet.

He hid behind a curtain, staying still as his eyes peeked through the gap. Assistant Quinn was standing near the bed, checking something on a tablet. His expression looked tired. Heavy. Guilty, even.

And then Loki saw it.

His eyes widened as he stared at the figure lying motionless on the hospital bed.

It was him.

Elder Lilith’s human doll—Sebastian Carter.

Loki stared, stunned.

The man was unconscious. His face looked pale and his body still. There were no machines beeping, just the gentle hum of a nearby monitor showing a flat, steady line. He wasn’t dead, but it was clear—he was in a deep sleep. Maybe even a coma.

"He’s not awake..." Loki whispered to himself, the realization sinking in.

So Assistant Quinn was hiding it.

Loki’s small claws curled into the floor as he looked at Quinn again.

This wasn’t just about lies.

It was betrayal. And Elder Lilith deserved to know the truth.

He had to tell her.

Just as Loki was about to slip out from behind the curtain, the door creaked open again—and in walked a tall man with silver hair, sharp features, and a calm presence that made the whole room feel colder.

Loki froze.

He narrowed his eyes and ducked a little lower, making sure he couldn’t be seen. His little heart thumped in his chest, but his curiosity kept him still.

The silver-haired man walked to the side of Sebastian’s bed and looked at him quietly for a few seconds, then glanced at Assistant Quinn.

"His vitals are stable," the man said in a low voice. "But there’s still no sign of consciousness."

Quinn nodded with a tense expression. "He’s been like this ever since the collapse. He murmured a few things... about Lilith. But he hasn’t opened his eyes."

"We need to give him a simulation push... something powerful enough to make his mind force itself to wake up!" Atlas said firmly, standing near the side of the bed.

Assistant Quinn nodded quickly, his face tense. "Yes. I’ll get things ready," he said before both of them turned and left the room, the door gently clicking shut behind them.

Loki waited for a moment, making sure the hallway was clear, then stepped out quietly. His little paws made almost no sound on the floor. He jumped up on the bed with ease, landing softly beside the sleeping figure of Sebastian.

The man was unconscious, his face pale and drawn, a far cry from the confident, sharp-eyed figure Lilith had once known. There were no signs of physical harm, yet his stillness was a troubling mystery.

Loki moved closer, his small nose twitching. He stared at Sebastian’s face, eyes softening for a moment. For all his bravado, Loki was just a small creature in a vast, unfamiliar world. He didn’t understand human emotions or the complexities of love, but he understood enough to see how elder Lilith had changed since meeting him.

Loki sighed, curling up near Sebastian’s chest. He was a devil, born of dark realms and deep secrets, but at that moment, he wished more than anything to see Lilith smile again. To see her hopeful. Because the woman he followed, the woman who trusted him, deserved more than the emptiness she sometimes hid behind her cold eyes.

He let out a soft sigh, the kind only an ancient, tired soul could release.

"She’ll become sad again... because of those humans," Loki whispered under his breath, his eyes dimming with worry.

He slowly stepped forward on the bed, his tiny paws careful not to press too hard against Sebastian’s unmoving body. Then, as if offering something only he could give, Loki raised one paw and gently placed the soft pad against Sebastian’s forehead.

Loki’s eyes flashed as he thought of something.

His whiskers twitched, his breath stilling for a heartbeat as the idea took hold. Then, with a slow, deliberate motion, he closed his eyes, as if shutting out the world to better chase the thread of his thoughts.
