Chapter 65: Dance to the Beat

Nyx wiped off the sweat, dripping down her forehead. She could tire from shouting when her dearest Ravenna had just three fights in a row, that too against men. She had firmly refused to get into the ring with a lady, saying that they were too weak to handle her powerful blows and kicks. Nyx stared at him as if she was about to puke but did not say a word.

"Hey, Alex. Didn’t you say your big boss would be coming? Where’s he? I wanna see if we could catch some bigger fish to freaaload off," Ravenna said, playfully nudging at him with her shoulder.

Alex immediately looked at his watch, and he let put some curses. "Shit! I’m done for."

"What’s up?"

"I was supposed to meet the boss an hour ago," he replied, as he stood up. "Girls, I got to go now. I’ll see you around." With that, Alex left, leaving the two confused.

"That’s what he gets for trying to flirt with Alaric’s woman," Nyx murmured.

Ravenna slowly turned to her her expression gloomy than ever. "Didn’t I tell you not to mention his name?"

Nyx pretended to recollect and then shook her head. "I don’t remember. Why? You don’t want to see, or even touch him, kiss him and eat..."

"Say more, and I’ll put you in that ring," Ravenna warned.

"Okay, I won’t... Mrs. Alaric Nightveil," She murmur the name, but Ravenna still heard her loud and clear.

Instead of fusing, a blush crept on her cheeks, but she ignored it. "Alaric is not..." She was yet to complete her statement when something caught her eye. "A...Aaa...laric?" She saw him. He was standing on the floor above, opposite to them. And he was staring back at her.

"Hey! Where are you lost to? Do you suddenly miss your..." Nyx was cut shot by Ravenna, as she held her chin and made her turn towards that direction. "Alaa...ric."

"Hmm. I thought I was losing it, but now I know I’m not," Ravenna said in a pretty low voice, as if the man could hear them from that distance.

"Ven... Alaric is here! He’s here!" Nyx almost fell from the bench due to trembling.

"Do you know some kind of telepathy spell? I’m scared with the way he’s looking at us," Ravenna clenched her hands on Nyx’s sleeve.

"I do, but I’m not allowed to use my powers in front of humans. You know the rules," Nyx replied, gulping.

"There’s only one way to save ourselves bow," Ravenna whispered in a calculative manner.

"What?" Nyx stared expectantly.

"Run!" Ravenna held Nyx’s hand and pushed their way out of the crowd until they got to the lift.

Only when they were inside did they catch a breather.

"Do you think he’ll follow us?" Ravenna questioned fearfully.

"Not us but you. He’s here because of you," Nyx almost cried.

"Why not take us to some other country now? Right. He won’t find us and we would..."

"It’s not possible to teleport that far. I can only take us up to the front casino and that won’t help. There are too many humans there."

Ravenna frowned and started pacing up and down probably thinking of a solution.

"I know! I know what to do."

Nyx watched her creepy smile and knew whatever Ravenna had in mind would be crazy. Her mind worked in an extraordinary way that she never understood. Bur she loved it, her craziness, her innocence and chirpy attitude.

"I just hope not to die today." That was all Nyx could say.

Ravenna dragged Nyx to the female strippers bar, precisely to the dressing room.
