Chapter 360 - 360: Natural Weapons.

As he scanned his environment for activities, Kelvin urged the soldiers, "Hurry it up, will you? We are not here for a tea party or to bake cake, ladies. Hurry up."

He wasn't the only one serving as the lookout. There were soldiers where the head of the target wayfarer should be and another set of lookouts monitoring the anus or waste disposal orifice of the target.

There were also some soldiers monitoring their equipment in their ally wayfarer. So the soldiers preparing for the infiltration are not everyone available. They are only 80 in number.

While they were preparing themselves for the infiltration, Kelvin sensed that some vampires had begun to congregate at the hole they were about to use. He also noticed that some vampires had decided to escape their sinking ship through the other two holes.

He wasn't worried about the other two holes. He sneered and said, "If that's how they want to die, then they can go ahead."

The mission of the soldiers is to enter the target and eliminate the vampires before they can find a way to heal the downed target if they refuse to leave it. But if the vampires decide to leave the target and venture outside of it, then what awaits them is to be crushed by their own wayfarer.

Just as he expected, the cold sandy winds were directed at the escaped vampires. Unlike the normal passive movement of the wind, this wind was directed and had more pressure and force to it.

The wind was full of metallic sand. With the force controlling the sand directing it to smash onto a target, the target became full of holes immediately. It was as if the vampire had been shot with all the armor in a Gatling gun in a second.

These vampires were also Kunuts. But they had ditched their brown carapace for something red, and they ditched their shell for wings.

The mouthparts of the vampires had also become exaggerated. They looked as if their mouth was full of sharp, gleaming knives. They had changed from the docile farmers and workers they should be into hungry and bloodthirsty predators.

Their speed was fast, and their strength was immense. Everything about them had been improved greatly.

The vampires looked like the xenomorph species in a certain Alien vs. Predator series that was popular back at home. The main difference was that they were red or black.

These vampires were not like the bat type he was familiar with. Apparently, vampires change with the race they were converted from.

Despite their immense power and formidable hunting capabilities, they couldn't resist the attack of the wayfarer at all. The whole planet, from the iron ground and the sandy, magnetic winds, as a tool for the wayfarer to attack with.

Large metallic spikes would spring up from the ground and impale the vampires. There were also the small metallic spikes shooting up from the ground like the spines of a startled porcupine.

But the most dangerous tool for attacking was the magnetic winds. As long as someone was exposed to the wind, even if they had not been impaled by the metal spikes or shot through by the iron sands in the wind, they would be battered and ground down by the winds.

Kelvin saw a vampire who tried to fly get snatched in the air by the winds and thrown around in circles. It looked like fun, but the vampire felt as if it was in a mill or blender. The friction of the iron sands scratching it all over tore it to pieces.

Kelvin was in awe because from the information granted by Command, what the wayfarer just displayed was the minimum of what they could do with the magnetic winds. He heard that they could turn the magnetic wind into a magnetic storm.

He shook his head and said inwardly, "I hope I don't witness a magnetic storm. Its area of attack is too large."

While he was enjoying the view, the soldiers had finished preparing. He nodded at them and gave permission for the attack to start.

Two soldiers led the way. They were a male and female. The two of them have the ability to harden their flesh and increase their defense.

These two were to be the vanguard. The other soldiers followed them into the hole for the battle.

The vanguard didn't only have their ability and power to preserve their lives. They also had two flashbangs prepared. They threw those two flashbangs into the hole as they went in.

The information they have on vampires states that they have incredible senses. It was also stated that stealth cloaks wouldn't work on them. This was information that was made available to the soldiers before the expedition took off.

It was also stated that the incredible perception of the vampires can be used against them. Specifically, the reason why vampires don't like daylight can be used against them. That's why they started the attack with flashbangs.

The flashbangs produce a lot of light and sound in a brief moment. The light it produces is of higher intensity than that of daylight. So it will surely cause a sensory overload for the vampires.

The flashbangs stunned the vampires so the two vanguards could breach the hole without much danger. Then the soldiers that came after threw rods of chemical lamps onto the ground. This caused the tunnel they entered to brighten as if it was daylight.

With the sensory advantage of the vampires used against them, they turned from being predators into lambs to the slaughter. The soldiers began shooting their guns at them and felling them in droves.

The soldiers don't need to use guns to kill the vampires. They could use their abilities, but Kelvin didn't want them to engage the vampires like that yet.

Kelvin had them stay in formation and shoot the vampires together. This way they formed a wall of bullets that knocked down the vampires, stopped them from advancing, and even killed them.
