Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World
Chapter 548 - 548: Bereserk Wife

Simon was the first to fall victim to Vinea's loss of control.

The Princess dashed across the room, snapping her leg at his chest like a whip, a single strike, which created a snap so loud and clear it woke him up just as she sent him flying through the wall and into the room next door.

Paul, who'd barely regained consciousness and stood up, turned pale in fright as she dashed toward him.

"Don't do this, Princess!"

Unlike Simon, his fingers held two wooden runes that snapped in half, creating a purple bubble that blocked her advance. Paul was the weakest of the three physically. Still, he was no weakling either; with his runic skills and the spells he created, he had a way to combat her.

At least for the moment.

Her fist smashed into the bubble, denting and deforming the soft force field. She continued to punch and smash into the shield, her nails like claws, and her eyes lost any sense of sanity. Instead of fear, the Princess's twisted smile, a demonic grin, caused him to break out into cold sweat.

Unlike normal, her demon form began to appear, twisted horns with a cracked molten surface poked the bubble, mana gathering in a twin squall at their tips. She whipped her tail like a spear, smashing into the barrier, small cracks growing with each blow, causing Paul's skin to shiver.

"WAKE UP, PRINCESS!" He shouted at her without a response, then looked back at Simon, who was climbing to his feet.

"Damn, she struck me I almost swallowed my tongue... ugh."

Paul took his attention away from Vinea for only a moment... a moment too long...

She unleashed the twin beams of mana, which caused him to stumble back, eyes wide as he realised his shield would crack any moment. "Simon, get Ygrenne!" Though he created a reinforced barrier with two runes, the limit of his mana and the amount of wooden runes couldn't equal the half-berserk Vinea, who looked at him like prey. "Only one of her eyes is completely black... the golden one seems fine... wait... golden, divine power? Is holy magic the key?"

"Grrr!"

Her inhuman growl was a sign of her loss of control, but Paul was too late because with another punch, her entire fist went through the first shield, deformed the soft inner shield, and smashed him in the chest.

'I can't use any holy magic... so we need a priest.'

Paul's chest felt tight, and a burning pain spread from where her fist collided with him, leaving a throbbing pain. She'd knocked him into a wall, watching him with a swishing tail, her mana completely berserk. It was dangerous; if somebody came now and spread this rumour, it would defame the Princess.

With a snap, he destroyed another runic spell, the bubble this time a dull green, followed by another two.

Another barrier and the third rune wrapped Paul in an earthen shell he created after fighting with Asmodeus for a long time. "I call this trick, Stone Skin!"

With three runes active and less than ten wooden sticks left, his face turned pale. 'There's a limit to how much mana I can expend... I need to calm her down somehow.'

"Princess Vinea! Can't you think of your husband?!"

He thought about it, throwing out the most prominent point she could cling to, her beloved Asmodeus, the Demon Emperor, whose power turned her into a demon and the man who accepted her as his wife. The Princess always spoke about worrying that no man could love her when drinking, and how Ryuji was her prince in shining armour.

"Did it work...?"

Though doubtful... for a moment the black colour that stained her eye like ink faded slightly, becoming grey, oozing down her cheek as she touched her chest, a small necklace with a shimmering gemstone the same colour as Ryuji's eyes—an Ocean Sapphire. Vinea looked up at Paul, confused and still dazed.

His words reached her ears. "Ryuji... where... is he..."

It worked for a moment before he saw her grip the bubble-like barrier, small cracks forming along the surface.

'Shit. Shit. Shit!'

Paul rarely showed his vulgar and unconfident side because he always guided the party and led them like an invincible brother.

Yet, how could he be perfect?

There were things Paul couldn't do, and even with the boost to his mana thanks to Asmodeus gifting him something special, he couldn't match a demon queen!

He wanted to fight, but there was something more important than just fighting.

To protect the Princess and find a way to control and cure the plague spreading through the land. He didn't know if the Mainland or Mephisto himself created this accursed thing, but Vinea came here to achieve something.

Paul wouldn't spit on her efforts.

Especially when Princess Vinea sent Ygrenne to save them when they were wounded in the city a few nights before.

"Forgive me for being rough!"

'Focus!'

"Ryuji~ I.... am.... here....." Her voice deformed and twisted, hidden by the sound-dampening magic and the illusion that would show only an empty room to those with low magic resistance.

Paul again grabbed two wooden runes, one with a green surface and the inscription of vines along the edges.

"Go! Constricting Vines!"

He immediately tossed another before it landed. "Freezing wind!"

A mass of vines and thick bound routes exploded, engulfing the Princess.

The dazed Vinea was wrapped in vines, her arms, legs and chest all bound together as the second runic spell burst out a flash freeze that locked her limbs and the vines in place.

She didn't resist and dropped to the ground with a low thud.

"Please don't punish me for this...! I will repent to Ryuji as much as he wants me to!"

Meanwhile, Simon panted heavily, his chest pulsing with a sharp stabbing sensation. The kick's damage was more than he realised as he slammed into the door for the escort knights.

A loud bang echoed down the quiet halls, and no guards stood to protect the Princess.

"Come out!"

Only the three she brought.

He could hear movement from the inside.

With dull vision, Simon again hit the door with a thunderous bang.

"Knight Ygrenne!"

Inside the room, Ygrenne sat in her underwear and chainmail shirt. She was reading a book by candlelight about the southern desert nations and the strange creatures that lived there.

"Huh? Who the hell is banging... tsk! It's that human flirt."

The demon knight Ygrenne's short silver hair draped over her shoulder as she stepped towards the door, book in one hand, sword in another. During the day, she dressed like a merchant or scribe, but the heat stopped that. Now she just relaxed naked in her room with a chainmail shirt blessed with heat resistance, making it permanently cold to the touch.

"What is it Simon!" Her voice laced with poison, glaring at the door with her crimson eyes.

"It's Vinea! She attacked Paul!"

Her glare turned to worry, the book falling out of her hands and clattering against the wooden floor. "Princess, why?" Immediately, she opened the door, giving the male a glance at her silver garden due to the breeze lifting her chainmail vest.

Ygrenne's eyes opened wide, her hand holding it down, barely covering her thighs as she snapped towards Simon. "Did you see!?"

"No Ma'am!!!"

Simon immediately saluted and spun on his heel, his cheeks flushed, but now wasn't the time for flirting.

Ygrenne took only a second before she dashed out, the cold vest swinging over her shoulders as she ran past him.

"W-Wait... what if that old bastard sees!?"

"Huh? Paul is a gentleman he wouldn't look even if I flashed him!"

'This woman is delusional! Paul is a MAN too! Oh, the injustice!' Simon grumbled while staggering behind her; his right arm felt heavier than before, and his balance leaned to the right.

"Huh?" He watched the demon knight enter the Princess's room, but he collapsed and hit the wall with a thud... "T...that's not right..."

Inside the room, Ygrenna's body moved like a panther, leaping from the entrance she landed beside Paul, and looked at the constricted Princess, her left eye black... with a silver slit pupil "She's like the others?" Then turned to Paul with a strange expression.

"Where's Simon!?" He asked with a concerned voice.

"That pervert? He's probably slacking off like usual!"

Her voice shut down his chance to ask her, and Paul agreed with her honestly, but simultaneously, he held doubts because Simon would never mess around during a serious sitaution...

'Damn it there's no time...!'

"Ygrenne... we need holy power, anything with holy power can help her."

Paul didn't turn around or look at her when he spoke. He just stared at the struggling Princess with the utmost respect for her. Even if Vinea attacked them both, it wasn't her fault... and he didn't aim to hurt but control Vinea to keep her safe.

"Holy power...?"

Ygrenne's eyes narrowed in thought, while Vinea started suffering.

"Graaahhhhh!"

While her master suffered, the demon knight's eyes lit up like red beacons.

"I've got something that might work!"
