Demon Hunter and His Cabin -
Chapter 587 - Chapter 587 Chapter 526 Prajna (Two in One)
Chapter 587: Chapter 526: Prajna (Two in One) Chapter 587: Chapter 526: Prajna (Two in One) Night.
It was past midnight. The clamor of the daytime had faded, leaving the streets at night particularly deserted, with only a few figures, arm in arm, staggering out from the alleys.
They waved drunkenly for taxis by the roadside.
“Nishida, it’s still early. I know a spot with decent service. Since tomorrow’s a day off, we can keep drinking there and maybe find some…”
A portly man burped, swallowing the rest of his sentence.
“I won’t fall for your tricks again. The quality of the girls at the place you took me to last time was terrible. Forget it, better to go home and rest.”
The man addressed as Nishida waved his hand in response.
Perhaps it was too late at night. Taxi drivers in the distance had fallen asleep in their cars while waiting for passengers. Despite the pair waving by the roadside for a while, no taxi approached.
The two men, arm in arm, helping each other stay upright, wobbled towards the taxi.
Just then, a voice emerged from the shadows of the alley behind them.
“Sir, please wait a moment, sirs.”
Nishida stopped and turned around. In the dim light, he saw a figure step out from the darkness.
Rubbing his eyes, Nishida saw a pair of long, white legs.
“Eh?”
A fire seemed to rise in his belly. Nishida’s eyes widened as he tried to get a clearer view, but the dim alley light was insufficient, no matter how hard he strained, the figure’s face remained unclear.
Considering it was night and the temperatures likely had dipped below zero degrees since midnight, it was unusual. It wasn’t uncommon to see schoolgirls with bare legs during the day, but at this hour, in this place…
Gargle.
A harsh cough gripped Nishida’s throat, forcing him to swallow. He let go of his companion and staggered forward.
“Are you calling to me? What’s up?”
As Nishida approached, the woman, with half her body now exposed to the light, couldn’t help but retreat a step back.
Nishida saw the woman wearing a red leather jacket cinched at the waist, revealing her slender figure. Following her curves upward, he felt as if his throat ignited.
He croaked, “Miss, are you alone?”
Nishida asked.
The woman had a good figure, but her face was hidden under a hood, leaving Nishida unable to discern her features. The dim environment paradoxically fueled certain thoughts in Nishida’s mind.
“Excuse me, sir, what time is it?”
“What time is it?”
Nishida paused, subconsciously raising his wrist, but before he could see the specific position of the hands on his watch, a voice laced with mockery sounded by his ear.
“Hey, Nishida, you really are innocently charming.”
Nishida turned back. The portly companion had come up close; he now seemed less drunk, his eyes glittering with malevolence.
“By the looks of her figure… quite top-notch…”
The man commented, putting an arm around Nishida’s shoulder.
“She’s negotiating a price with you. Would anyone really brave the cold, revealing their legs and waist, to ask a stranger for the time on the street at this time?”
“Haha.”
Nishida was initially stunned but quickly caught on to something.
“She’s a…”
“What else?” His companion chuckled. Just then, a taxi driver in the distance seemed to awaken, starting the car and drawing near.
“Let’s see your face. If it’s not too bad, it should fetch a decent price.”
The man rubbed his hands, edging forward slowly, but the woman, standing in the shadows, panicked and said, “I’m not working this one, I’m not doing this one.”
“Not working? That’s unacceptable!”
The man’s brows knit together, “Didn’t you see you’ve aroused my friend’s interest?”
“With your figure, you really don’t need to do this.” He casually reached into his pocket, pulling out his wallet.
“To be honest, you’ve piqued my interest too.”
He carelessly withdrew a few bills, twirling them on his fingers as he reached out.
Seeing the money in the man’s hand, the figure in the shadows stiffened. The next second, the portly, sturdy body leaned over.
“Let me have a look at you. As for the time, if I’m satisfied, any time will do.”
A brusque force came upon her, the woman’s body staggering out from the darkness into the lamplight.
Then her hood was suddenly lifted.
“Oh… beautiful… Ah!”
“What the hell is that?!”
The man’s laughter stopped abruptly, followed by a scream of horror. His sturdy arm thrust forward, before the approaching woman could be shoved away.
Her high heels snapped as she retreated, and she fell to the ground, scraping the skin on her forearms and palms. As she tumbled, her cheek nearly grazed the corner of the alley frequently visited by drunken revelers.
She was assaulted by revolting smells, but before she could even catch her breath, a force struck the back of her head. The man’s hand pressed down on her, smashing her entire face into the filth on the ground.
“Damn it!”
“What kind of monstrosity are you, trying to scare the life out of someone in the middle of the night?”
The portly man’s face turned scarlet, his eyes a mix of shock and anger.
As he had approached and pulled off the woman’s hood, he didn’t find the fiery red lips and attractive face he expected.
What confronted him was a ghastly visage.
Frightening scars ran from the woman’s mouth to her ear, her cheek was marked with coarse stitches, and her entire nose had been mutilated, revealing only two dark holes from the front.
