Chapter 568: Chapter 517: Ingmar (Two in One) Chapter 568: Chapter 517: Ingmar (Two in One) “Bang!”

The heavy door was flung open, and a figure stumbled in, his urgent voice filling the entire hall before he even arrived.

“Mr. Kun, Mr. Kun!”

The robust figure stopped his movements and turned his head, a flicker of impatience crossing his face.

“I’ve said it before, don’t bother me if it’s not important, especially your companion–I fear I may not be able to restrain myself…”

“Judith is dead!”

Sergei panted, managing to get the words out.

“Dead?”

“Who killed her?”

A silhouette flashed through his mind as he heard Sergei respond, “It must be that Green. I’ve heard you mention his weapon before; I definitely couldn’t have mistaken it.”

“Sir, everything you said was true!”

The Elder of Shadows was fleeting; Sergei, with his back to Judith, had not seen the image of her death. He even mistakenly thought it was Roger who had used some special method to kill her.

“Oh.”

There was a long silence before Kun hummed a disinterested response.

“Sir, what should we do now?”

“We?”

Kun’s thick eyebrows unfolded as he glanced at Sergei with a hint of mockery.

“This is your problem, you still have a bit of time; but before you report to the Privy Council you’d better think about how you’re going to explain this to that woman’s father.”

Kun assessed Sergei, “He probably doesn’t dare to kill you, but…”

Shaking his head, Kun turned and left.

He had anticipated Sergei and his companion suffering a setback but had not expected it all to come so swiftly. Reaching the door, Kun stopped suddenly.

“Where did you encounter that guy?”

After receiving an answer, he offered one last piece of advice.

“Figure it out and get back quickly, prepare to face that old man’s wrath.”

Cold sweat broke out on Sergei as he sank helplessly into a chair.

Meanwhile, the ever-elusive Roger and his companions had also departed from Eld.

For the sake of convenience, Roger had taken everyone to the secluded island using the Fairytale Manuscripts, leaving only himself behind, which made things much easier.

Arriving in the Shadow World, he summoned Uma.

“Master…”

“When will you allow me to return to your side?”

Uma looked at Roger with mournful eyes, “If possible, I’d like to be the sword in your hands, to always be by your side.”

“Just the thought of being held by you every day, feeling the warmth of your fingers slide over my…”

“Stop!”

Roger said with a headache. Aside from the occasional thirst she displayed, this unexpected acquisition of a maid had many virtues.

The only way to handle this woman’s complaints was to be blunt and get straight to the point.

“Do you know about Judith and Sergei, whom the Privy Council recently sent to take over Europe’s Knights and Sorcerer’s Assembly?”

“I’ve heard that old woman mention them a few times.”

Uma replied.

“It seems they don’t quite belong to this world; coming here is almost a kind of punitive exile.”

“That Witch Corinna has been alive for who knows how long, nearly reaching the lifespan limit of a Fourth Tier Transcendent, and she knows many secrets.”

“Compared to her, Tamara is as innocent as a young girl.”

“I always feel that the old woman seems to have noticed something, but she just doesn’t wish to talk more about it.”

Uma frowned slightly as she fanned the air at her neck, then theatrically tugged at her neckline as if too hot.

“Help me investigate the background of that Judith and Sergei, and be careful.”

“My dear master,” Uma’s eyes fluttered flirtatiously, “having your loyal maid investigate other women is such a cruel task.”

“Don’t you fear that I might be heartbroken?”

Roger glanced at Uma, pausing briefly, then replied expressionlessly.

“That Judith is already dead.”

“I killed her not long ago.”

The expression on Uma’s face froze, but quickly she smiled broadly, “I knew it, with such a charming maid like me, you have enough. All other women should die!”

“Oh right, there is another thing.”

Uma quickly changed the subject.

“All of Europe is under the strict control of the Privy Council; aside from the three known major forces, other Transcendent Forces either fall under them or must hide in the shadows.”

“But there are exceptions.”

“The Nature Association is one that joined the Privy Council later but has always been marginalized.”

“The Privy Council has set detailed codes of conduct for its Transcendents, and the conditions for joining are stringent.”

“Forget it,”

Roger waved his hand dismissively.

He was familiar enough with Europe; if he wanted to carry on the Demon Hunter tradition, he could no longer hide in the shadows as before.

Hunter Apprentices needed to be toughened up, and advancing past Transcendence also required a lot of materials. However, after killing Judith, many of his previous arrangements had to be abandoned.

At least in Europe, it definitely would no longer be feasible.

To go to Armenia?

Roger pondered this possibility.

In the recent battle with Judith and her companion, Roger had also gotten a sense of where his current strength stood.

There was a limit to how much one’s power could grow in the real world, but with the Hunter’s Cabin in his possession, Roger was still confident in himself.

Following the battle, he had decided to sort out his affairs and then set off for Sunrise.

If he could repair the Sword of Destiny and fully activate the abilities of the weapon, Roger believed his strength could be greatly enhanced further.

Additionally, he needed to consider proactively reaching out to stronger Transcendent Forces. At the level he had reached, it was clear that going it alone was no longer viable.
