Chapter 510 - Chapter 510 Chapter 488 Betrayal (Two in One)
Chapter 510: Chapter 488: Betrayal (Two in One) Chapter 510: Chapter 488: Betrayal (Two in One) Buzz, buzz, buzz!
The vibration in the air vanished, and a pungent sulfur smell filled my nostrils.
If Tamara and her companions were considered a makeshift ragtag group, then Green would be akin to a well-equipped regular army.
Apart from Green and Angela, the other two Fourth Tiers, everyone who entered the passage was uniformly of the Third Tier.
The entire Round Table Knight Order had deployed, and the maintenance of the normal world had temporarily transferred into the hands of the Sorcerer’s Assembly.
The Third Tiers gathered here seemed numerous, but the three major powers were concerned not with one or two countries but nearly the whole of Europe.
Normally, a somewhat larger city would require the stationing of a Third Tier.
Take Bordeaux, for example.
With so many Third Tiers gathered in one place, any sort of accident would pose no slight damage to the stability of the real world.
“Was there a problem with the spatial positioning?”
Green looked around, surveying the environment while seeming to ponder something.
This passage was exactly what Rams and the others had intended to cross into the real world. According to the Gareth brothers, it seemed like a vague black castle could be seen behind the passage.
But now, surrounded by scorching heat, they were clearly in a volcanic area; even from the mountaintop, looking into the distance, they couldn’t see the so-called black castle.
“Our spellwork wouldn’t have an issue.”
The Sorcerer’s Assembly primarily completed the task of reinforcing the passage, and upon hearing Green’s challenge, Angela couldn’t help but retort.
“Perhaps your people saw wrong, or they have played some tricks. In any case, my people wouldn’t make a mistake.”
Angela’s tone was firm.
While they were speaking, Margaret approached swiftly, “Miss Angela, the spell is ready. We can begin at any moment.”
“Spell?”
“What spell?” Green couldn’t help but ask.
“While stabilizing the passage, I took the liberty of improving a detection spell; this will help us analyze the energy distribution here and find key areas.”
Angela looked at Green.
“As the only Transcendent who has entered here before, Mr. Green, don’t you have anything to say?”
“I’ve said many times that my knowledge of this place is very limited; I’m afraid I can’t be of much help.”
“That’s truly disappointing,”
Angela interrupted Green mid-speech.
“Miss Angela, what do you mean by that?”
Green’s expression turned cold.
“I am the current head of the Round Table Knight Order, not a magician from the Sorcerer’s Assembly. I think it necessary for you to watch the tone you take when speaking.”
He lifted his head, his slightly hunched back straightened, and a hint of danger flashed in his eyes, “As Transcendents, you should not forget the first tenet we are to learn and uphold.”
The atmosphere changed completely, and Margaret, standing by their sides, immediately felt a strong pressure, but soon someone stepped forward a half-step to shield her.
Angela.
Getting a chance to breathe, Margaret left the area of their confrontation without looking back.
The clashing auras of the two Fourth Tier Transcendents drew the attention of others.
A figure stood out from the crowd, walking towards the center of the two’s aura confrontation.
It was Gaharad.
At that sight, everyone showed a trace of surprise.
“This woman is so strong?!”
Gaheris couldn’t help but mutter, exchanging a glance with Gareth at his side; the brothers seemed to have a faint guess as to what was happening.
Gawain’s betrayal, Lancelot and Bedivere’s disappearance, at this critical juncture where Gaharad, who hadn’t made much of a presence before, now displayed strength far beyond a normal Heritage Knight.
What would the outcome be?
“How could I forget our first tenet.”
Angela let out a small laugh.
“To learn respect and hold awe for the mighty.”
She glanced at Green.
“Mighty, you certainly used to be.”
“But now, well…”
A playful glint crossed her eyes.
By then, Gaharad had already shown a hint of the Fourth Tier’s aura, to which Angela showed no surprise at all.
She was clearly privy to some inside information.
“I was hoping to spare you some dignity.”
Angela sighed, her pupils turning red, and the sulfur smell around her thickened.
Green seemed to realize something.
“You deliberately targeted this location.”
“What are you planning to do?”
“No, dear Green, it’s not what I plan to do, but what do you plan to do?”
“Everyone is quite dissatisfied with your actions, and about the secrets of this place, you need to give us an explanation.”
Green snorted chucklingly, “What if I say no?”
“I may be old, but I’m not so decrepit that I cannot move. As an elder, I am willing to teach certain individuals a lesson.”
Angela chuckled, lifting her head, “If it were a month ago, I might have believed the words you just spoke.”
“But now…”
She glanced covertly at Gaharad.
“Your health is much worse than I had imagined, and you’re here not to solve the Black Tide but to take care of certain problems within yourself.”
Green seemed to understand something, and turned his head to look at the woman who had been by his side for many years.
“Gaharad.”
Green’s voice was calm, yet his tone seemed to contain energy more terrifying than the volcano beneath their feet.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Green.”
“Your departure is inevitable; I need to make long-term plans for the future.”
Gaharad, while apologizing with his mouth, showed not a hint of remorse on his face.
