Chapter 503: Chapter 484: The Origin of Gawain (Two in One)_2 Chapter 503: Chapter 484: The Origin of Gawain (Two in One)_2 [Round Moon Slash]

“What a pity, if it had been a full moon, even a Fourth Tier like me would’ve been interested in a fight!”

Gawain declared with a face full of arrogance.

Before his words had died away, the weapon in his hand had already struck the layer of ice covering Gaharad!

Hiss!

The solid ice was easily cut through.

In the next instant, the blade of the scythe had already landed on top of Gaharad’s head.

“It’s over.”

Deep inside, Roger had repeatedly revised his opinion of Gawain, but Gawain managed to surprise him every time.

If Gawain had truly reached a higher level once, then he surely had some trump cards up his sleeve.

Roger even wondered if Gawain was cheating like himself.

“It’s strange, how does this guy seem to get stronger the more he fights?”

Just as Roger thought Gaharad would be instantly killed by Gawain’s explosive attack, a cold sneer appeared on Gaharad’s face, even as she was sealed in ice.

Boom!

A powerful oppressive force swept across the field.

Roger’s body was stimulated, nearly bursting out with the Pale Blood hidden inside him reflexively, but soon, he thought of something.

Looking up, he saw the layer of ice on Gaharad’s surface had been shattered, and the silver glow on her body suddenly contracted inward.

On her forehead and chest, two marks appeared simultaneously.

On her forehead was a complex rune, and on her chest was a bundle of pale flames burning fiercely!

This woman…?!

“Ah…!”

Gaharad let out a thunderous roar of rage, the flames instantly spread to her arms, and then, a fiery fist met Gawain’s scythe head-on!

Boom!

Energy burst forth, and Roger, floating down from midair, was hit by the blast, blown more than a dozen meters away by the shockwave, crashing into a large tree behind him!

The huge noise travelled far and wide in the night.

The ground at the center of the battle looked as though it had been flattened by a road roller, and Roger picked up the Sword of Frost that had been flung out, fixing his gaze on the scene.

The area where they fought once had many sparse trees, but now all the trees had been pushed aside and shattered, leaving a clear area about 10 meters in diameter.

Gawain’s face was grim, a deep gash showing on his right hand, his entire forearm significantly withered, and the black handle was covered with clear cracks.

The blade itself was broken off by a good chunk.

Gawain, who had been so wildly aggressive in the night, now seemed rather silent.

He said nothing, just stared intently at Gaharad across from him.

“You’re not Fourth Tier!”

Gawain said coldly.

“So what if I’m not?”

Gaharad sneered coldly.

She seemed much more wounded than Gawain, her arms’ skin torn away in the collision, and even some parts of her chest blasted open with a bloody cavity.

The sight was truly horrific.

But to Gaharad, the injuries seemed as though they weren’t to her own body, but rather to a tool.

And it was precisely because of this that Roger could clearly see what was hidden beneath Gaharad’s skin.

Her body seemed to have undergone special treatment, and the energy feedback made Roger think of some cursed items.

He vaguely had some guesses in his heart.

“This is just too crazy,”

The silver runes previously hidden under Gaharad’s skin weren’t some special spell, they were Pale Blood that had been processed.

The purity couldn’t be compared to what Roger now possessed, but there was enough quantity, and they covered Gaharad’s body in a special way.

That was both protection and a seal, and only when the seal was broken did Gaharad show her true strength.

“Three minutes.”

“I can only maintain this state for three minutes,” Gaharad said.

Blood flowed from the wounds, but a flash of light passed across Gaharad’s shoulder, and soon the flesh wounds on her skin reversed, healing at an incredibly fast rate.

No sooner had she finished speaking than the skin on her arms had almost completely regenerated, and aside from her somewhat flattened chest, which looked deformed and fierce, there didn’t seem to be much damage.

But Roger knew this was just an appearance.

Inside Gaharad’s body, conflicts were happening all the time.

At this moment, she was both dangerous and powerful.

“Although I’m not Fourth Tier, I’m enough to kill you!”

Gaharad’s gaze swept over Gawain and Roger, “After such a heavy price, I must take both of your heads back with me!”

Before her words had faded, the flames in her chest ignited, and that distinct aura of oppression swept across the field. Roger feigned being affected and propped up his body with the Sword of Frost.

However, what puzzled him was that Gawain, who was closer to Gaharad, seemed to be unaffected by the pressure.

On Gawain, Roger once again felt that covert energy.

And that might just be Gawain’s secret.

“Boom!”

The air exploded as Gaharad drove her knee forward, while Gawain held the scythe, blocking Gaharad’s attack.

At that time, Gaharad could barely be considered half Fourth Tier, yet she completely overpowered Gawain.

In just a breath or two, the previously imposing Gawain was utterly at a disadvantage; it was clear that without any hidden moves, his defeat and death were just a matter of time.

Three minutes is short, but it was enough for Gaharad to kill him.

Seeing this scene, Roger knew that some of his previous thoughts probably could not continue, but the night wasn’t without gains.

The unexpected strength of Gawain and Gaharad made Roger realize the difficulty of obtaining Pale Blood.

He wasn’t yet powerful enough to dominate all directions, but staying hidden in the shadows, he might still have a chance to get what he wanted.

If he could complete the Dream Trials…

Seeing the two not far away locked in fierce battle, Roger, holding the Sword of Frost, turned to leave.

Let these two guys continue to fight; killing people had no benefits and would just expose his current identity. The more parties involved, the more chaotic the scene, the more opportunities Roger felt he had.

“Trying to run?”

Gaharad, who was engaged in battle, had clearly been watching Roger’s movements. Seeing Roger turn to leave, she punched and broke Gawain’s weapon, grabbed the remaining half of the scythe, and threw it at Roger.

Speaking frankly, if he went all out, Roger was confident in facing any one of them.

However, due to Bedivere’s death, he was now a non-entity to all the factions, with no attention drawn to him, making it less likely he would be targeted.

In a chaotic situation, it was easier to get what he wanted.

Suppressing the urge to turn and join the fight, Roger swung his sword to block and then, using the force of the blow, ran towards the distance!

Just then, Gawain, who had lost his weapon, suddenly burst forth. Roger didn’t look back, but from the center of the fighting, he felt a somewhat familiar aura.

Ancient and decayed, yet immensely powerful.

This caused Roger to recall what he had seen not long ago, in that fragment of the Shadow World: the palace that had grown flesh, and the withered body nailed atop a pile of corpses in the palace.

“Is it him?”

“How is that possible?!”

Without the luxury of further thought, he quickened his pace. Just a bit more distance and he could activate Shadow’s Touch and then leave this place.

“Fend for yourself.”

This time Gawain would probably suffer great losses even if he didn’t die.

If Gaharad was already so difficult to deal with, what about Tamara and Green?

Just as Roger was about to slip into the shadows, a presence from afar locked onto him firmly. Turning around, Roger saw Gaharad descending from the sky.

In her hand, she held a blood-drenched arm; before she even reached the ground, she hurled the arm at him as if it were a weapon.

“Lancelot, you can’t escape!”

“So quick! Has Gawain already been dealt with?”

Roger looked towards the distance, but failed to catch any sign of Gawain’s presence.

Thump!

Roger cut through the arm, watching Gaharad plummet from the sky.

“I’m of no use to you; let me go.”

Roger watched as the wound on Gaharad’s chest began to heal gradually.

“I’ve said it before, you always choose wrongly for so many years.”

Gaharad sneered coldly.

“If you had chosen to stand by my side from the beginning, then maybe I would have tried to make you into a weapon, to become a member of the Zodiac.”

“Aquarius, do you like that title?”

Gaharad’s gaze upon Roger was like she was appraising an item.

“Zodiac, weapon…” Roger seemed to understand something.

He couldn’t help but sigh.

“Regretting now? It’s already too late,” Gaharad said mockingly.

“No.”

Roger shook his head.

“I just feel sorry for you.”

Saying this, he retracted the Sword of Frost in his hand.
