Chapter 481: Chapter 471 End (Two and One)_2 Chapter 481: Chapter 471 End (Two and One)_2 “It’s a pity, it’s already too late.”
“This world has absorbed your power, and as the battle rages on, you will become weaker, and I will grow stronger!”
Feeling the power emanating from her opponent that originated from the same source as her own, Amanda remained unflustered.
“What do you think power is?”
“A mere accumulation?”
She scoffed, and her whip lashed towards the other’s neck.
Crack!
A large tree suddenly appeared between them, its thick trunk blocking Amanda’s view. Her heart sank, and she instinctively dodged to the side.
Crack!
The ground opened up, and Louis had somehow circled around the tree, eerily appearing beside Amanda.
“But as for skill, I’m certainly no match for you,” he said, composed.
“But this is my painting, and the brush is in my hand!”
No sooner had he spoken than Amanda saw several robust trunks suddenly sprout around her. These things seemed to appear out of nowhere, instantly blocking her avenues of escape.
“Although I can’t do whatever I want…”
Louis’s voice came from all directions.
“However…”
Louis seemed to relish the feeling of lurking behind the scenes, his voice filled with barely concealed malice.
Amanda knew that an unending series of attacks was coming, but just then, a familiar voice came from the sky.
“But this is where you stop.”
“Roger?”
Amanda called out, surprised and delighted.
She didn’t know what was happening outside, but clearly Roger had found Louis’s hiding place.
“You… how are you here?”
The sound of Louis’s panic filled the surroundings.
“Lancelot? How could he let you…”
“He’s dead.”
Roger said coldly.
“And you’re soon to follow!”
The next second, Amanda felt the entire space shake, followed by everything in her view dissolving as the scenery around her returned to its original state of paint.
A torrent swept past, and when she regained her senses, she found herself in a dark, narrow room.
Opposite her, Roger was nonchalantly clutching Louis’s neck.
“I’ve found the flaw in the world of the painting. If you hadn’t come, I would soon have unlocked its secrets too.”
Seeing Roger, Amanda finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Secrets?”
Roger smiled, “Aren’t you afraid I’m a fake, a deceit created by this guy with a brush?”
“That’s impossible!”
Amanda’s eyes widened, “No one knows your body better than I…”
Amanda suddenly stopped herself, “I was really close to finding the flaw in the world of the painting.”
The red-haired girl lifted her head.
“This is an unfinished painting, which is why it can be modified and even smeared repeatedly. And the very first stroke on this paper is its flaw.”
Amanda looked at Roger.
“Am I right?”
Roger didn’t answer Amanda’s question but tightened his grip.
“I didn’t think that much.”
“If intelligence isn’t enough, strength makes up for it.”
“Just do it and it’s done.”
“If it were me, I would have torn the whole world apart with a single sword strike.”
Amanda pursed her lips, saying nothing more.
“What do you plan to do with him?”
Roger asked.
“Of course, take him back to the Sorcerer’s Assembly,” she replied.
But Roger shook his head.
“I’m afraid that won’t be possible anymore.”
Then he succinctly recounted the events that had transpired, along with some of his speculations.
“Besides, this guy you see doesn’t look as young as he appears.”
“What he’s driven is a mere shell, housing another soul in this body.”
Roger lowered his head, looking at the shivering Louis.
“Am I right, Mr. Louis?”
There was no need for an answer, Louis’s attitude had already said it all.
“What’s this all about?”
Amanda was still trying to make sense of the situation.
“Don’t kill me, please let me go!”
Louis was crying bitterly.
“I’m just an ordinary person…”
“But you’ve been alive for over 100 years.”
“Please let me go, you must understand I’m also a victim.”
“It was Lancelot, many things were done at Lancelot’s behest.”
Louis gasped for breath, partly because Roger’s grip was tightening, and partly due to the panic in his heart.
“Please believe me, before I met Lancelot, I knew nothing about the Transcendent World, nor about the Round Table Knights.”
“Even my father didn’t know, my mother had been married to other men and even had children!”
“What mother, what father, what on earth are you talking about?”
Amanda felt more confused than ever.
“Here, ‘him’ refers to his soul, not this body.”
Roger offered an explanation.
“To the outside world, they are a famous Polish art dynasty.”
“But in fact, whether it’s Louis, his father, or his grandfather, they are all the same person; the body is just a vessel, and it’s another fellow who manipulates the body.”
“Am I right?”
Roger looked at Louis.
Louis nodded, and Amanda finally began to untangle the relationship.
But she still had one doubt.
“This guy is just an ordinary person, did he use some bizarre method to keep his body forever young, or did he replace his body every now and then?”
Although both methods would yield the same result, the information they conveyed was entirely different.
“Ordinary people’s bodies can’t avoid aging…”
Louis replied.
“So these bodies, the young bodies, are all drawn by me with a brush.”
“Drawn?”
Amanda was taken aback at first, but then seemed to understand something.
She looked around.
“So the world we’re in now…”
“A painted world.”
“I also want you to listen to my story, please believe me, things wouldn’t have turned out this way had I not encountered Lancelot,” said Louis.
Roger slightly loosened his grip to allow Louis to breathe more air.
“The time goes back to 100 years ago, we were an art dynasty, dealing in antique paintings, mingling with high society and even royalty.”
“But I never had any talent for painting, and then by chance, I met a down-and-out painter, whose talent I greatly admired and became friends with.”
“But he was a strange man, seemingly uninterested in money, he kept wanting to paint a portrait of me, and without thinking too much, I agreed.”
“However, the painting took an unusually long time, over a month in total. During the painting, something miraculous happened, I felt like I was undergoing a transformation.”
“Everything around me started to feel out of place, I began to lose weight, lose interest in food, women, and all sorts of temptations, but correspondingly, the ‘me’ he painted became more and more lifelike.”
“Until the day the portrait was completed, I felt as though I was reborn on the canvas, and I finally learned the man’s secret.”
Louis’s eyes sparkled with an unusual gleam.
“He had no talent at all, the one with remarkable abilities wasn’t him, but the brush in his hand!”
“It was a brush endowed with Magic Power.”
“It absorbed the man’s entire Essence Blood and soul, and then created a new me.”
“A me that lived in the painted world.”
“From that day on, the world turned upside down for me; the real me became a shell and tool, under the control of that brush, I began to display talent.”
“And so the days went by, one after the other, until I met Lancelot.”
“The reunion was devoid of any surprise, he soon discovered my secret, and then he used me to help him accomplish something.”
“Injury transference.”
Louis spat out a word.
“Lancelot noticed that I could project changes made to the painting onto the observer, so he was hoping to get inspiration from here to find a way to transfer injuries…”
“Even to transfer imprisonment.”
“With the experiments progressing, more and more people were killed, but with his cover-up, no flaws were revealed.”
“Years passed by just like that, and I swapped bodies, while he finally achieved the desired injury transference.”
“Yet he wasn’t satisfied, and recently he became even more crazed.”
Louis looked submissive, but unnoticed by anyone, a glint flickered in his eyes.
