Chapter 460 - Chapter 460 Chapter 459 Black Manuscript (Two in One)
Chapter 460: Chapter 459: Black Manuscript (Two in One) Chapter 460: Chapter 459: Black Manuscript (Two in One) North Eld, Mount Dobrie.
The mountaintop was blanketed in snow, and a meticulously groomed middle-aged man looked around.
“Ms. Tamara, this is the place,” he said.
The man turned to Tamara, who stood behind him.
Tamara was of a burly build, her thick soles making deep impressions in the snow. She was still dressed in her ceremonial attire, which left her soles and arms exposed.
However, such low temperatures seemed to have no effect on Tamara.
“Curtis, is this where you said the anomaly was?” Tamara asked.
Her own student had been defeated by Roger, and her desire to show off was not fulfilled. But even so, Tamara suppressed the anger in her heart, for there were more important things awaiting her attention.
“Without a doubt, this place is secluded, rarely visited by anyone. If it weren’t for a few young people from our family coming here for so-called exploration, I’m afraid the anomaly wouldn’t have been discovered,”
the man respectfully known as Curtis replied.
Everyone has their own agenda, and although part of the Secret Blood Family, each family had its own ideas.
The rise of Goway would undoubtedly drive the entire family forward. For Curtis, now that he had allied with the Nature Association, he might as well do so wholeheartedly.
He would cling tightly to this powerful support.
Curtis’s gaze followed Tamara’s foot upward as he swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing with difficulty.
If necessary, for the sake of his family, he was willing to make certain sacrifices.
To be fair, although Curtis appeared middle-aged, his proper demeanor and handsome looks, which were dapper and fit most women’s aesthetic tastes, suggested he should not rush things but instead carefully plan and implement strategies step by step.
He had heard that this Fourth Tier Druid had been single for many years.
After so many years surrounded by animals, she must be quite lonely.
Curtis felt he still had a chance.
“What are you spacing out for?” Tamara’s gruff voice broke his reverie.
“Are you not going to hurry up and take a look over there?”
“Right away, right away.”
Curtis stopped his wild thoughts. Somehow, he managed to leave only a shallow imprint as he stepped on the snow-covered ground.
On Snow Mountain, he moved quickly, whereas the much stronger Tamara huffed and puffed like a clumsy brown bear.
Sometimes, Curtis even doubted whether this crude woman behind him was truly a Fourth Tier Druid.
The elegance that came with being a powerful being was altogether absent in this woman.
They walked a little further and reached the mountaintop, where there was a slope leading down to a crevice that appeared as if it had been cleaved by a giant.
“They discovered the anomaly down there. Five people had come here: three men and two women. Three were instantly devoured,”
“Another was torn apart by claws that stretched out from the whirlpool, and the last one, lightly injured, ran back to the gathering place,” Curtis explained as he leapt from the mountaintop into the crevasse, his body floating down like a leaf.
Before he could land, a loud ‘thud’ echoed as Tamara’s robust body fell from above, shattering the ice.
Unbothered, Tamara pulled out her thick legs. At the bottom of the crevice was a serpentine, narrow passage that barely had space for Tamara’s considerable girth.
Curtis’s cheek twitched as he contemplated the proposal he had been considering. For the growth of his family, some sacrifices were inevitable–but…
“The fluctuations here are periodic. Clearly, the passage hasn’t been completely ‘Penetrated’ yet,” Curtis said, looking up at the sky. “I’ve tested it a few times in secret; the fluctuations reach their peak during the transition between day and night.”
“We’ll need to wait a bit longer,” he explained.
Tamara’s eyes turned a mysterious green, the light probing into the passage as she sensed it carefully.
“No need for that trouble. The passage is indeed very unstable, and nothing substantial could come through it,” she said, her mouth revealing pearly white teeth.
“But I can lend a small hand to make the passage a bit more stable and then see what comes out from the other side,” she said as the green light in her eyes receded, her arm muscles twitched, and a complex pattern appeared on her forehead followed by several short chants.
Boom!
A powerful ‘Energy’ exploded from Tamara’s body, and the symbol on her forehead rapidly expanded under its influence until it was as large as the passage itself in an instant.
The space vibrated, and countless cracks appeared in the ice underfoot.
“Please be careful, Ms. Tamara, the structure here is very fragile and could collapse at any moment!” Curtis called out loudly.
Tamara’s thick palms clapped together, and a scornful smile crept across her lips.
“If you’re scared, get out of here. Don’t get in the way,” she said as she spread her hands sharply. The next second, the space’s shaking ceased, and the surrounding ice seemed to vanish, a suffocating presence rushing towards them.
“Someone is stabilizing the passage for me?”
A horned appendage squirmed out of thin air, followed by a second, and then a bizarre, enormous head emerged, resembling neither cow nor sheep!
Just from the creature’s head, one could imagine the immense size of its body.
