Chapter 306 - Chapter 306 Chapter 306 Headless Knight

Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Headless Knight Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Headless Knight “Lorry!”

Seeing Lorry’s body tumble to the ground, Yolinger shouted and rushed forward.

“Wait a moment.”

Roger grabbed Yolinger, his expression becoming grave because since the Sword in the Stone had appeared in the clearing not far off, the atmosphere in the entire graveyard had become much more eerie.

Rocky, vomiting blood, rose from the ground once more and, without a thought, hastily ran toward the exit.

With his neck a blur of flesh and blood, copious amounts of fresh blood streaming down, Rocky tripped in his panic and fell once again.

He clutched his wound, looked down, and saw that it was Lorry’s corpse that had tripped him.

“Damn it, you useless piece of trash, even in death you seek to hinder me?!”

“Do you feel no obligation to me?”

“If it weren’t for me, you would have starved to death long ago!”

He yelled this while lifting his foot and heavily kicking Lorry’s corpse.

“Snap!”

But just then, the dead Lorry suddenly extended a hand to block Rocky’s assault, and immediately after, his headless corpse flipped up from the ground.

Clumsily, like a marionette, it rolled and scrambled over to a mound of graves not far away.

Crack, crack, crack!

Lorry’s bones twisted as he knelt on one knee, and with a hand made wizened by blood loss, he grasped the Steel Sword stuck in the stone.

“How could his corpse…”

Yolinger’s face was that of astonishment as his entire being began to wither, despite having no visible wounds, and he collapsed to the ground powerless.

To oppose Rocky, he had overspent his life. Engulfed in fervent burning, both his life and soul had reached their ends.

“I know now!”

A flash of insight struck Roger, who seemed to have thought of something, he bellowed and charged forward.

Before he could come too close, he pushed his palm flat, and the Alder Dharma Seal exploded with full force.

“Stop him quickly!”

“He’s going to pull out that sword!”

Goway was still somewhat stunned, clearly not comprehending the significance of Roger’s words.

“Boom!”

A violent surge of air swept past, but faced with Roger’s attack, Lorry’s frail body remained completely still.

The next moment, his right hand clutched the hilt of the sword.

Rumble!

The dark night sky blasted with lightning and thunder.

In the faintness, an invisible darkness shrouded the entire area.

Roger fell from midair, drew the Steel Sword from behind him, his aura surging as he slashed at Lorry’s sword-holding right hand!

Crack!

A light sound, and the rock beneath Lorry suddenly split with something seeming to burst from within.

Boom!

The shattered rock blasted all around following a loud bang, and Roger, reacting swiftly, brandished his Steel Sword, shattering the flying rock fragments.

In these delayed moments, Lorry had already completely pulled the Steel Sword from atop the grave mound.

Hisss!

Infinite black smoke diffused into the air through the slits at the top and, in the blink of an eye, swirled rapidly, forming a fearsome whirlwind.

An oppressive energy seeped out, flinging Roger away.

Meanwhile, Rocky, who had fallen, tried several times to stand but was pressed down to the ground by the terrible pressure.

As the black smoke cleared, Lorry standing atop the grave mound had dramatically transformed, the Steel Sword in his hand had turned pitch black, and its width compared to that of an adult’s palm.

Writhing black mist coiled around the blade, within it tortured faces, the souls of those who had perished by this blade.

And Lorry’s figure surged in size.

He was tall, but as a dryad, he was naturally slender; his physique wasn’t particularly robust.

Yet, even without his head, Lorry had grown over two meters tall. His traditional attire had torn under the strain, and his entire being was shrouded in swirling darkness.

His sturdy body seemed to be cast from fine steel!

“The Headless Knight!”

Goway’s mouth hung open in shock.

“The real power doesn’t come from the so-called Headless Knight Rams but from that sword.”

“It must be a Cursed Sword that only the dead can pull out.”

“The headless corpse, the resentment of being killed by a loved one, combined with the Cursed Sword, all these have given rise to the legend of the Headless Knight.”

“And Lorry… Lorry has become the new Headless Knight!”

“In the legends, the Headless Knight is a fearsome Slayer, said to be the servant of the vampire Camilla, feeding on terror, leaving a trail of bodies in the wake of his iron-hoofed steed.”

Goway recalled the words once spoken by the Mountain Woman.

“Everything she said was true.”

“What do we do now?”

“What can we do?”

Roger shrugged, “He must be in a nascent state right now, no matter what, we can’t let him leave. Otherwise, it won’t take ten minutes for him to slaughter all the dryads in the village.”

“We have to kill him.”

“The real Lorry is already dead.”

“Having inherited the Cursed Sword, he is the new Headless Knight Rams.”

“While his power has yet to reach its peak, we still stand a chance.”

Although the black mist shrouding Lorry was potent, Roger could still vaguely sense the intensity of the energy within it.

“No… Don’t kill him.”

The weakened Yolinger suddenly spoke out, “I can still feel Lorry’s faint soul fluctuations. He’s still here, he’s always been.”

The situation was tense, and Roger could no longer consider Yolinger’s words. If the Headless Knight broke into the village, the weapons in their hands would soon be soaked in blood and souls.

By then, Lorry would likely become even more powerful.

“Ah!”

Regaining control of his body amidst the terror, Rocky scrambled up from the ground and ran desperately towards the exit.

But just then, the black smoke swept over him, and bursts of blood mist exploded from his body, his tendons shredded, his form crashing down from mid-air.

Click! Click!

Lorry walked forward. While his body bore no armor, his movements produced an eerie, metallic scraping sound.

“Snap!”

Lorry raised the weapon in his right hand, gently touching Rocky’s forehead with the Sword Tip.

“Beast!”

His stomach churned, emitting a deep, guttural roar.

In the next second, Rocky’s eyes widened in terror as his body visibly withered at a visible rate. His skin lost its luster, and his limbs shriveled like branches devoid of water.

“No… Don’t kill me!”

“I’m your brother!”

Rocky struggled and screamed in agony.

It was clear he was in unimaginable pain.

Once his flesh was consumed, what followed was the extraction of Rocky’s soul. A pale green mist was torn from his body and sucked into the Steel Sword enshrouded in black mist.

“Swoosh!”

Lorry’s Longsword swept across, its sharp blade slicing through his own neck. The severed head fell from the body, shattered.

The smoke caused Corrosion, leaving no trace of blood at the cut. Having absorbed Rocky’s soul, his body trembled slightly, letting out an excited, low growl.

The next moment, Lorry stepped forward, sword in one hand, approaching Roger and the other.
