Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 303 - Chapter 303 Chapter 303 Madness

Chapter 303: Chapter 303 Madness Chapter 303: Chapter 303 Madness “There’s been an accident in the village!”

Hearing the distant shouts, Roger’s expression changed slightly, and he rushed ahead.

Through the woods and over the hill, the chaos in the village was fully in view.

A treehouse was engulfed in flames, and several weapon-wielding dryads had surrounded a person, while cries could be heard from the outskirts of the crowd.

“Be careful, everyone, don’t hurt him.”

The man speaking was the same tall man who had interacted with Roger earlier.

And the one the crowd had surrounded was Lorry, his brother who was supposed to be dead.

“He’s not dead!”

A flicker of joy passed over Goway’s face.

“There’s only a scar on his palm and no signs of poisoning on his body. It looks like he was in a state of false death before.”

She quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

“The Mountain Woman must have been mistaken, how could the weapon of the Headless Knight appear here?”

As she spoke, Goway rushed towards the village.

A young man stepped out from the crowd.

“Stay calm, no one is trying to harm you.”

The speaker was Lorry’s friend, Yolinger.

Yolinger slowly approached Lorry.

At that moment, Lorry’s face was pale, his gaze vacant, his chest heaving violently, his unfocused eyes sweeping back and forth.

“Listen to me, Lorry, look into my eyes…”

As Yolinger moved closer, he quietly withdrew a black leaf with silver patterns from his sleeve.

But just as Yolinger got within two meters of Lorry, the latter suddenly went mad.

He let out a huge yell, so loud it made one doubt whether his vocal cords were being torn apart from such screaming.

Immediately after, Lorry’s eyes bulged almost out of their sockets, and, opening his mouth, he spat out a blood sword that shot directly at the nearby Yolinger.

Yolinger, who had been carefully watching Lorry’s actions, quickly dodged to the side in panic.

Although he avoided Lorry’s attack, another young man standing not far behind him wasn’t so lucky.

The blood spat out by Lorry was as deadly as the sharpest weapon, piercing the young man’s neck in an instant.

With a new blood hole in his neck, the young man clasped the wound, but blood still sprayed through his fingers, and within a few breaths, he fell to the ground, dead.

When Roger and Goway burst into the village, this was the scene they saw.

“Everyone, back off!”

Roger shouted loudly, but the villagers continued to stand their ground even after hearing his cry.

Goway repeated the command, then she put her hands together in prayer and as she parted them, a beam of green light shot out.

The green light accurately entangled Lorry.

Roger took a closer look and saw it was a green vine that had wrapped around Lorry.

Lorry struggled desperately, but Goway’s vine, though thin, was harder than steel, and his struggle left several bloody marks on his body.

“Be careful, he’s just lost his sanity.”

The tall man from outside the crowd yelled.

“Your brother is very dangerous.”

Roger glanced back at the man and pointed to the young man lying dead on the ground.

“Aaaaah!”

Lorry struggled and screamed, his strength so immense that the vine began to cut into his flesh, squeaking as it rubbed against bone.

“Let him go!”

“If this goes on, he’s going to die!”

The man cried out desperately.

Uncertainty flickered in Goway’s eyes as she heard the man’s shouts again, and with a pointed gesture, she slightly loosened the vine around Lorry.

“Roar!”

Lorry let out a bestial roar and the next moment, he shrank his body to avoid Goway’s vine and lunged at the nearest villager.

“Alder!”

Roger stepped forward and pushed out the Dharma Seal in his hand; Lorry, who was in midair like being hit by a whirlwind, flew towards the distance with a bang.

“Bind him!”

Roger shouted loudly; the vines in midair nimbly caught up to Lorry, and by the time he landed, he was once again ensnared.

Goway breathed a sigh of relief.

But just at that moment, Lorry, who was bound, suddenly exerted force from the ground and sprung up.

Just when everyone thought Lorry was trying to free himself from the restraints, a savage look flickered across his face.

Boom!

As he landed, his head jerked up high, then smashed viciously against the protruding rock at the well’s edge.

He used nearly all his strength in that blow.

His head burst open like a watermelon, blood splattering everywhere, with the blood water slowly trickling into the well along its edge.

In an instant, the entire village fell silent. After a long while, a piercing scream resounded as a tall man rushed forward without a care.

“Lorry, my dear Lorry!”

Goway was also somewhat stunned; no one had expected the bound Lorry to end his life in such a manner.

“It was you who killed him, it was you!”

The man, full of anger, roared as he charged toward Goway.

“Calm down a bit.”

Roger stepped in front of Goway.

“Get out of the way, damned human!”

“You humans would prefer us all dead!”

The fury made the man before him look like a wild beast, his eyes bloodshot, his mouth wide open, his refined face gone, and veins throbbing on his forehead.

“Stay away from her!”

Roger’s right hand rested on the hilt of his sword behind him.

“What are you planning to do?”

“Kill me like you killed Lorry?”

Roger didn’t speak, just stared at the angry man before him.

“Get out, get out of our village.”

“You’re no longer welcome here.”

The man bellowed loudly.

“Let it go, Roger, let’s leave,”

Goway’s weary voice came from behind him.

Roger turned his head, and the girl looked at him somewhat at a loss.

“This isn’t your fault.”

Roger looked around; the light had dimmed. “It’s already dark, where can we go?”

“Besides, our mission isn’t complete yet.”

“He’s just lost a loved one. He’ll come around.”

Apart from Lorry, another young man had been killed, and the dryads around were busy cleaning up the aftermath. Among all the people, that young man named Yolinger had an even uglier complexion.

It was his dodging that had caused an innocent person to die.

Just as he was about to leave, a figure blocked his way.

“What was that in your hand when you faced Lorry?”

In the darkness, Roger’s gaze was like a sword, fixating on the young man before him.

“I…”

Yolinger panic-stricken, but at that moment, Goway’s voice came through, giving him an out.

“Don’t be nervous, Roger.”

“What he had in his hand was a leaf from the Peaceful Spirit Wood, blessed with a spell. Tearing the leaf apart can help stabilize the mind.”

She glanced at Yolinger, “Go back, this has nothing to do with you anymore.”

Yolinger, as if spared from execution, scampered away anxiously.

“Dryads are kind creatures, they…”

“Heh.”

Roger let out a cold laugh, interrupting Goway.

“I never believe there are absolutely naive and kind creatures in this world.”

He glanced at Goway.

“Such creatures, if they ever existed, are long since extinct.”
