As Zaru was indulging in his success, he suddenly felt a pain in his mouth and realized that what he had bitten into was not the man’s neck, but a pistol shining with a special luster.

“So you like this?”

Henrik shook his head as if to say it was no big deal.

“Sorry, my gun only likes to be played with by ladies.”

The next moment he pulled the trigger.

“Bullets made by the Spirit Medium Master Heller…”

Henrik let out a long sigh.

“I’m doing Roger a favor here, I must ask him for another one later.”

Feeling hardly any impact, a point of white light flashed, and the creature’s skull exploded once again.

However, unlike the first bullet, which was a normal Spiritual Energy Bullet that Henrik used to prevent any errors, the second bullet was a special one provided by Roger.

It was said to be a fearsome bullet capable of delivering a fatal wound to New Moon-tier enemies.

Soon, the unique nature of this bullet became apparent. The man named Zaru, whose head had been blown off, seemed to exist somewhere between liquid and solid.

But this time, with the suppression of the bullet’s energy, a terrifying transformation occurred in him, as certain traits were stripped away, revealing his true appearance.

His right eye then bulged and exploded with a pop, and a red flesh worm, as thick as a finger, crawled out, writhing and rapidly changing.

But the change was too sudden and swift, and soon the flesh worm’s body began to crumble, along with the man.

Different transformations appeared on his body.

The head of a bull, the claws of a wolf, the skin of a Murloc.

Henrik’s face changed. The various features demonstrated by the man reminded him of the many monsters he had seen on the night of the disaster in that special space.

“What on earth are they doing?”

“Why would a person exhibit transformations typical of monsters?!”

Henrik quickly retreated, and at that moment, the man seemed to regain a brief moment of sanity. He reached out his hand, his face twisted in severe pain.

“Save me… save me…”

“Bang!”

The conflicting forces within his body converged and finally exploded with a bang.

Looking at his pistol coated in filthy fluid, Henrik felt disgusted, but he quickly put the gun away and drew his curved blade, charging towards the manor not far away.

The fog that enveloped the manor dissipated quickly, but Henrik searched the entire estate and could not find Roger or his companion.

“Where did they go?”

Suddenly, a thought struck him, and considering the possibility, he quickly took out his phone and dialed a number.

“With concrete evidence in hand, I must contact Mr. Sean immediately!”

Tap tap tap!

Roger was relentlessly advancing, managing to impose pressure on Dickinson. He released the Quinn Dharma Seal, which enveloped an area of two meters around his body.

Within that range, Roger could sense any movement from Dickinson, and if not for Dickinson’s physical strength being far greater than Roger’s,

he would have likely captured Dickinson’s weakness and beheaded him by now.

Although the sensing wasn’t extremely delicate, for Roger, a slight premonition was all he needed to react in advance with his swordsmanship.

The Steel Sword in his hands flickered like a viper’s tongue.

Swish swish swish!

Three points of light that appeared at the last moment merged together in a strange manner.

Click!

The fearsome piercing power that formed penetrated Dickinson’s weapon, and Roger lunged forward. Just a fraction faster, and he could have pierced Dickinson’s throat.

At that moment, Dickinson’s weapon transformed back into black clothing, but instead of flowing towards Dickinson, it rushed along the Viper Steel Sword at a tremendous speed towards Roger’s wrist.

In this situation, Roger could only retreat. His wrist trembled as he moved backward, stirring the steel sword in his hand.

Light, heavy, slow, quick.

In the span of a single breath, Roger underwent dozens of changes, his explosive moves completely erratic and throwing Dickinson’s assault into disarray.

But for Dickinson, his goal had already been achieved.

He was an old hunter — more precisely, a Demon Hunter of the Blood Hunter rank.

While Magicians cultivated their minds, Blood Hunters put more emphasis on the physical body.

Upon entering the Transcendent Realm, they would awaken special abilities, and only those with such bloodlines could be called Blood Hunters.

However, unlike Magicians whose bloodlines tend to be purer with greater potential for development, Blood Hunters were more of a mixed bag.

To Magicians, this naturally was a drawback, but for Blood Hunters, this imperfection was not so pronounced.

Broad but mixed, specialized but refined — these were two completely different paths, and it was impossible to say which was superior or inferior.

Dickinson blinked.

A pair of pale eyes had suddenly appeared above his eyebrows.

These eyes had no eyelids or pupils, and swirling within them was a chaos of pallid white.

Eye of Slowness

One of Dickinson’s white eyes suddenly burst open, and instead of blood, a white mist poured out, instantly rushing into Roger’s body; the next second, a terrifying heaviness enveloped him.

A sense of dread sank into Roger’s heart; he tried to retreat, but the oppressive heaviness nearly made him lose his balance.

“Tsk!”

The floating black mist automatically converged in Dickinson’s hand, reforming into a weapon.

Only, the weapon in his hand was now slightly smaller than before.

“I will sever your limbs,” Dickinson said softly as he lifted the large knife in his hand.

“Whoosh!”

A flash of cold light, and the Longsword had already slashed down through the air, while Roger had only just managed to raise his own weapon.

He was more than twice as slow!

In that critical moment, Roger still maintained his calm. He flipped his palm over, and a torrent of orange flames erupted.

Dickinson stopped the momentum of his knife, moving it sideways to block Roger’s flames; but when he dispersed the flames before him, a Steel Sword glowing with green light had already reached him!

In his slowed state, Roger didn’t retreat but advanced, choosing to confront the difficulty head-on!

“Slow, heavy…”

“Black bear…”

“Secret Technique…”

The flash of spiritual light in his mind mingled with the sensations of his body, and Roger felt like he had grasped something.

Corrosion

Dickinson’s brain sank slightly, and he lifted the weapon in his hand, but the next moment, an overwhelming, irresistible force hit him head-on.

He felt the young man’s strength surge several times over in an instant!

Despite being slowed, Dickinson suddenly lost track of the Longsword in front of him.

It began.

And then it was over.

Clatter.

The weapon in his hand was split in two, and a hissing sound emitted from the broken edge as an intense pain spread throughout his body.

He looked down to see Roger withdraw the Steel Sword from his body.

“What happened?”

“You were clearly hit by my Eye of Slowness!”

Half of his body slid down from the shoulder, organs spilling out noisily, but at that moment, Roger seemed not to have heard Dickinson’s words.

Through Dickinson’s eyes, Roger saw a sinister palace, stretching from the center all the way to the depths of the earth, where an ugly figure appeared.

He sensed something familiar in this shadow.

It was as if something that should belong to him.
