Demon Hunter and His Cabin
Chapter 237 - Chapter 237 Chapter 237 Unknown Letter

Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Unknown Letter Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Unknown Letter The next morning when Roger woke up, the silhouette beside his pillow was gone. It wasn’t long after he got up that Henrik’s call came through.

“I’ll come get you in a bit, we’re heading back to Bordeaux.”

“Aren’t we going to follow up on the leads here?”

Roger asked.

“We’ve been searching for over half a month and haven’t found any clues. She has likely already left this place. Let’s head back to Bordeaux for now, there’s been a bit of trouble at the Hunters Guild.”

A jolt went through Roger’s heart.

“Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with the Voodoo Association. If nothing unexpected happens, the influence of the Voodoo Association in Bordeaux should be completely eradicated.”

“It’s not clear over the phone; we’ll talk about it on the way back.”

There wasn’t much to pack. After a short wait downstairs, Henrik picked him up in his car.

“Do you remember I told you that in recent years, due to neglect, the Hunters Guild had to rely on the power of the Voodoo Association to handle the surrounding transcendent events?”

“This time, the higher-ups of the guild eradicated the Voodoo Association with a thunderous approach, and it had the biggest impact on the areas around Bordeaux City.”

“Last night, the Hunters Guild suddenly announced that any Wandering Hunter who joins the guild can exchange their completed tasks, based on difficulty and number, for an opportunity to enter New Moon City!”

“The number of Demon Hunters affiliated with the Hunters Guild is limited, but at the same time, there are a large number of Wandering Hunters in the Bordeaux region.”

“The vast majority of them are weak and can only complete simple tasks, but among them, there are some elites from major families. They haven’t joined the guild only because they can’t stand the management system and constraints of the Hunters Guild.”

“However, with the incentive of New Moon City, I’m afraid that many elites from the Demon Hunter families won’t be able to sit still.”

“New Moon City?”

“Is it a city near Bordeaux?” Roger asked, somewhat puzzled.

Henrik sped up as he drove out of the city.

“New Moon City isn’t near Bordeaux; it’s underground.”

“Underground?” A flash of insight struck Roger, and he quickly realized something.

“This New Moon City, it wouldn’t happen to be a Cursed Land, would it?”

Henrik nodded.

“It’s a relatively stable Cursed Land that has been developed over many years. Although it’s unclear what the Voodoo Association did in Rivervalley Town.”

“But if I’m not mistaken, their actions must have been aimed at gaining entry to New Moon City!”

“This Cursed Land, it’s really a city?”

“It’s even larger than you can imagine.”

“Before this mishap occurred, I awoke a fraction of my bloodline and had the chance to enter another mid-sized Cursed Land, which was no longer just an area.”

“It was more like a separate world!”

“Normally, entry to such mid-sized Cursed Lands isn’t allowed for us until we reach the Transcendent Realm.”

“Seems like the guild is indeed desperate this time, but such a big incentive will surely drive those Wandering Hunters and elite family members of the Demon Hunters mad, won’t it?”

“After all, obtaining Transcendent Materials in the real world is still too hard.”

“We can’t improve our power without these Transcendent Materials, and only there can we rapidly accumulate and increase our strength.”

Henrik lit a cigarette, casting a glance at Roger.

“You’ve entered the Transcendent Realm, and according to the strength classification of Demon Hunters, you count as an Elite Hunter too.”

“Go back and inquire about it, and if there’s nothing unexpected, report to the guild.”

“Do I need to go even though I’m not affiliated with the Hunters Guild?” Roger asked, somewhat puzzled.

Henrik nodded.

“Behind the Hunters Guild is the support of national forces. If you still consider yourself a citizen of Armenia, it’s best to go and report.”

He looked at Roger.

“Don’t overthink it, it’s just a standard procedure. Put yourself in their shoes; if you had a kitchen knife at home, you wouldn’t need to tell the police.”

“But what if your house hid a rocket launcher?”

“If you said nothing, what do you think the police would think when they found out?”

“After all, to ordinary people, a Demon Hunter who has entered the Transcendent Realm is too terrifying in terms of lethality, even if they are unarmed,”

“All right.”

Roger thought for a moment and then agreed.

Although he did not want to get close to the Hunters Guild, he also did not wish to stand on the opposite side of this powerful organization.

Bordeaux was no different from when he had left, and life was unchanged for ordinary people.

But in the Transcendent World, the events that had unfolded in this short week were enough to change the landscape of the entire region.

Wandering Hunter Bar.

It wasn’t even noon yet, and the bar was already packed. Many familiar and unfamiliar faces were coming and going, and there wasn’t even any place left to sit.

After listening for a while, Roger discovered that in just a few short days, the Voodoo Association had vanished from everyone’s conversations; all people talked about was the sudden announcement from the Hunters Guild last night.

His gaze swiftly swept across the crowd, and Roger spotted the figures of Tangde, Lawrence, and others.

It looked like Lawrence wanted to greet Roger, but Tangde stopped him as soon as he started to raise his hand.

The less the people from Rivervalley Town knew about what had happened, the safer they were.

For now, the Voodoo Queen had only disappeared, and on such matters, it was always best to be cautious.

Their gazes crossed for a moment, and Roger understood the meaning conveyed by Tangde’s eyes.

Ingmar waved at Roger and the others from a corner.

“What’s the situation now?”

“Most people have chosen to join the Hunters Guild temporarily, after all, the opportunity is rare. Many here have a chance to enter the Transcendent,”

Not to mention, the prolonged life and vibrant energy one gains after entering the Transcendent are enough to tempt many.

The bar was noisy, but it was much quieter in the corner where Henrik and Ingmar were exchanging news from the past few days.

“The purge of the Voodoo Association seems to have something to do with the Female Sorceress Association; it must be that Miss Margaret gave a positive response…”

Ingmar drained the glass of liquor.

“I’ll go register with the Hunters Guild this afternoon. I have to experience New Moon City, the stuff of legends.”

He glanced at Roger, “I’ve been told about what happened in Kazhen by Hathaway.”

She gave Roger a thumbs up.

“Nicely done!”

Roger smiled, and just then, a waiter in the bar suddenly approached them.

“Is this Mr. Roger?”

Roger looked up.

The waiter placed a white envelope on the table.

“Someone asked me to give this to you.”

“Who?”

Roger was slightly startled.

“I’m not sure,” the waiter answered and then turned away.

“Whoosh!”

Henrik snatched the envelope, “Is it a girl’s room number for you?”

Despite teasing him, he didn’t open the envelope and after joking with Roger for a bit, he handed it back.

Roger opened the envelope with curiosity and pulled out a piece of paper inside.

“A silent confession?”

Henrik glanced over from a distance. The snowy white paper was blank.

But at that moment, Roger’s right hand, holding the paper, tightened slightly. He lowered his head, hiding the panic in his eyes.

In his vision, clear characters were imprinted on the white paper!

“Are you getting used to the body?”
