Chapter 236: Chapter 236 Talent Show
She immediately thought of Leng Lingxiao.
As to how Tang Xiaowan lost her memory, Leng Lingxiao was unclear, but he knew some treatments.
Either acupuncture or taking Qingxin Pills.
The former required a profound knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine; one mistake could result in lifelong disability, while the latter not only had a complex formula but also some of the herbs were extremely rare and difficult to gather in a short time.
Ah, such devoted affection, yet in the end, he managed to produce the medicine!
"Granny, what’s wrong with you?"
"Go downstairs."
Tang Xiaowan looked at Tang Mei scratching her head, thinking she had said something wrong, and quickly smiled innocently, "Oh, okay, I’m pretty hungry anyway."
...
On the ground floor restaurant, the servants stood upright.
Tang Xiaowan, arm in arm with Tang Mei, strolled in, spotting Leng Lingxiao waving at them from afar.
The man’s eyes smiled as he combed his glossy hair meticulously and styled it; he wore a white shirt with a silver-gray tie and black trousers with business-style leather shoes—all black, stable and commanding, a stark contrast from yesterday’s casualness.
"Looking so handsome so early in the morning, are you having a video conference later?"
After Tang Xiaowan finished speaking, she sat down straight away. Leng Lingxiao cleared his throat and hurriedly replied, "No meeting, what meeting? Wasn’t it agreed to spend the holiday with you? Let’s eat."
Seemingly calm, but actually his heart was a mess, extremely nervous.
Especially after Tang Xiaowan’s compliment, Leng Lingxiao’s heartbeat quickened, like a herd of horses galloping, forgetting the opening lines he had prepared.
In contrast, Tang Xiaowan wore a vintage burgundy princess dress, with a perfect fit, her long hair casually draped over her shoulders. Already fair, her complexion now was stunning and playful, captivating the soul.
Leng Lingxiao was smitten at a glance.
To hide his embarrassment, he quickly looked to Tang Mei, "Granny, why don’t you start eating?"
Tang Mei’s lips curved slightly, full of appreciation.
Indeed, it’s the work attire that’s most attractive, not bad, exuding manliness!
First hurdle, passed.
Seeing Tang Mei didn’t respond, Leng Lingxiao continued to call out, "Granny, Granny?"
"Alright, everyone start eating."
Tang Xiaowan smiled innocently and finally picked up her chopsticks, but her gaze swept around the dining room.
A huge chandelier hung from the ceiling, dazzling and highlighting the room’s noble elegance, while several landscape paintings on the wall, along with some antique curios, added cultural depth to the space.
The food on the rosewood round table was also quite plentiful: bacon, shrimp dumplings, beef buns, fried eggs, lean porridge, cold radish strips, and so on—all favorites of Tang Xiaowan.
She took a bite of radish, and a radiant smile immediately spread across her face.
Wow, so delicious, so refreshing, on par with Granny Yu, this round table looks good, I like it, much better than a rectangular one!
When she arrived last night, Tang Xiaowan was too excited, even eating distractedly.
She chatted nonstop with her grandmother, as if to say a lifetime of words, paying no attention to the layout and furnishings of the dining room.
Now, after a new look, she discovered the paintings contained the small pond from Mei Garden.
"Huahua, did you paint these?"
Leng Lingxiao quickly put down his chopsticks and answered with a smile, "Yes, and the breakfast too, I made it. How do you feel about it?"
"Really amazing, it tastes incredible," Tang Xiaowan smiled and praised Leng Lingxiao from the heart, "Turns out you’re a super chef! I would never have guessed, so impressive!"
Upon hearing this, Leng Lingxiao couldn’t help but feel proud.
He sensed her admiring and affirming gaze, feeling very gratified that his efforts early in the morning weren’t in vain.
Tang Mei savored the food, spectating the whole time.
Hmm, his culinary skills have improved, capturing Tangtang’s stomach is akin to capturing her heart.
Not bad, second hurdle also passed!
...
After the meal, the three of them left the dining room together.
Tang Mei immediately proposed she wanted to go back to her room to rest alone, claiming she hadn’t slept well at night.
Her intention was to leave enough space for Leng Lingxiao to make his move, but Tang Xiaowan stubbornly refused, insisting on following upstairs.
With no other choice, they detoured to the garden.
The sun shone brightly, and the fragrance of flowers was everywhere, making Tang Xiaowan feel as if she were in a fairyland, her mood ecstatic.
"Huahua, thank you for everything, whether it’s Granny or the breakfast, thank you. I’m so happy, I didn’t expect to see Granny here, thank you," said Tang Xiaowan.
"No need to thank me, it’s what I should do," Leng Lingxiao replied, "I think, I must be the luckiest person in the world, having met you."
His tone was gentle, his eyes full of tenderness.
Listening, Tang Xiaowan felt her heart warm, her cheeks blushed, and she fidgeted with the flowers unconsciously.
She, who was usually mischievous, now dared not meet Leng Lingxiao’s eyes and walked straight toward the gazebo, head down.
In an instant, Leng Lingxiao quickly followed Tang Xiaowan, grabbing her hand.
"Come on, I’ll take you to a place."
Their eyes met, breathing erratic.
After a long pause, Tang Xiaowan timidly asked, "Where, where are we going?"
"It’s a secret, I can’t tell."
"Why are you always so mysterious, it’s frustrating. I have to accompany Granny too, you’re not planning to sell me, are you? I don’t want to go."
Though she spoke without confidence, Tang Xiaowan knew very well that Leng Lingxiao was not that kind of person; he was someone who would protect her with his life, he couldn’t possibly sell her.
She wasn’t unwilling to go, just shy.
After all, this was their first time truly holding hands, and in front of Granny no less, too embarrassing.
"Don’t worry, even if I sold someone, it wouldn’t be you," Leng Lingxiao said as he walked faster, a joyous laugh filling the air.
"Where are we going, really?"
"You get three guesses."
"Do I get a hint?" Tang Xiaowan frowned.
"No hints, guess for yourself. If you really can’t figure it out... you can beg me. I’m actually quite soft-hearted, especially towards you."
His hearty laughter rang out.
Tang Mei watched them from a distance, her expression relaxed, with the heavy stone in her heart finally landing.
