Defying the Rogue Alpha -
Chapter 194: Madness
Chapter 194: Madness
Dennis wasn’t far behind. He fumbled at the buttons of his pants. His hands shook, his pulse thundered in his ears. When he finally freed himself and pushed into her wet folds, he let out a guttural groan that echoed around the room.
There is a particular feeling that comes from being denied something you crave for far too long, and then, at last, being allowed to taste it. It’s a kind of madness, a trembling ecstasy that eats logic alive. That was what this was. Neither gentle nor composed. This was hunger, primal and rushed. Fast. Hard. Desperate.
They moved together, no rhythm, no grace, just thunder meeting lightning. Zoe clutched the edge of the table, while Dennis gripped her hips with the ferocity of a man drowning in desire. His teeth grazed her shoulder, but he didn’t bite. Not yet. He couldn’t. Not until she was queen. Not until the council said she was worthy.
And gods, how he hated that.
But in that moment, their bodies ignored what titles the world refused to give. They weren’t King and would-be Queen. They weren’t public disappointment and political hope. They were just two souls, tangled in a room too big for loneliness and too small for their passion.
The table shook violently with each thrust, a sharp rhythm that sent glassware skittering across the polished surface. One by one, they tumbled to the floor, exploding in a chorus of shattering crystal. Their moans were drowned in the crash, the chaos of it only amplifying their abandon. It was as if the very room bore witness to their longing, to the ache of being apart and the fire of being together once more. They didn’t care what they broke.

Ava stood at the threshold of the room, her hands gently pressing against her swollen belly, as her gaze settled on the scene before her.
Kade sat by the window with a newborn cradled in his arms, the baby swaddled in soft linen, her tiny hands curled into perfect fists. A warm ray of light filtered through the stained glass, falling like a halo over them both. The innocence of the child was almost too much to bear. She was untouched by the sins of her bloodline, unaware of the betrayal that had surrounded her birth. She was just... a baby. A soft, breathing piece of hope in a world that had known too much violence.
Ava blinked back tears as she stepped further in, her voice a soft murmur. "She’s beautiful."
Kade didn’t look up, but his thumb moved in gentle circles against the baby’s back.
Lucas appeared behind her, folding his arms with a sigh. "Have you thought about what to do with the child?" he asked Kade.
The words were barely out before Ava spun on him. "What do you mean, what to do with the child?" she snapped. "He’s going to take care of her, obviously. She’s his sister. You think he’s going to put her in a basket and float her down a river?!"
Lucas blinked at her, exasperated but somehow fond. "Woman... I swear, I cannot wait for you to stop being pregnant. Your defenses are always on red alert. I was asking if he was ready to juggle being Beta and raising a baby, not suggesting we yeet her into the forest."
"Oh... oh okay. Well, next time maybe use less meaner words."
Lucas blinked at her, incredulous. "’Less meaner?’ That’s not even...what the fuck was mean about the question I asked?!"
Ava threw her hands up. "Oh my God, will you stop cursing?! There is a baby in the room!"
Lucas shut his eyes slowly, like a man praying for patience or perhaps divine intervention. "It’s a couple of minutes old baby!. Her ears don’t work yet!"
He turned to Kade, desperation creeping into his voice like he was seconds from pulling out his hair. "Kade, please. Find me Doctor Mary. Not for the baby...for me. I need her to check when the Luna is due so I can mentally prepare myself for the rest of this hormonal hostage situation. I cannot deal with this craziness."
Ava gasped, her eyes going comically wide. She turned to Kade. "Is he calling me crazy?!"
Kade’s eyes darted between them. "No! No... definitely not. That would be... wildly inaccurate."
Lucas started backpedaling so hard. "I didn’t mean you are crazy. I meant the situation! The energy! The chaos of it all!"
Ava just stared.
Lucas groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "You know what? Whatever. I give up." He turned around and strode out of the Luna’s quarters with the defeated shuffle of a man who had once conquered armies but now lost every verbal battle with his pregnant wife.
Ava watched him go, then chuckled under her breath, the fire in her fading as quickly as it had come. "It’s fun driving him mad. Like, I think I’ve made it into a full-time hobby at this point...Now give me the baby." She said clapping her hands together excitedly.
Carefully, Kade handed her the newborn. Ava cradled the baby. "So cute..." she murmured, stroking a fingertip gently down the baby’s cheek. The tiny bundle squirmed and yawned, her lips forming a perfect O before settling again.
Ava’s heart melted completely. "You don’t deserve the sins of your parents, little one. You deserve lullabies, and sunshine, and to be loved."
"I will be taking her to Nelly," Kade said softly.
Ava blinked up at him, surprised. "Nelly? Why?"
"She needs to grow up in a place not filled with traitorous stories of her parents," Kade explained, his eyes fixed on the infant as if trying to memorize every detail of her tiny face. "The human territory is the only place I can think of where she can live free of judgment. No whispers, no staring eyes waiting for her to turn out like her father."
Ava tilted her head, her face thoughtful as she nodded. "Makes sense. Nelly will love her like her own."
