Defying the Rogue Alpha
Chapter 176: Delicious

Chapter 176: Delicious

"Oh fuck!" Zoe moaned aloud. "Dennis!"

"Yes baby...you feel that. Thought you could tease me and get away with it? uhn?"

Dennis kept the fast pace up, Zoe’s hair and breasts flying in different directions. Her whole body shook uselessly and he grabbed her neck to keep her steady as he kept going.

Dennis couldn’t hold back his own grunts and groans, as the delicious feeling overwhelmed him. "You feel so good, baby. I don’t want to stop, Honey. Fuck, you are beautiful. Take that dick...." He kept talking and moaning. Some made sense, some didn’t.

Zoe was crying in pleasure as their orgasms rocked them both while on their feet.

Of all the alphas to be the Daughter of the Moon’s fated mate, it had to be the weakest, spineless one? Alaric couldn’t even fathom the Moon Goddess’s reasoning for this. What had she been thinking when she made this decision? Surely, there had to be some mistake!

The moment Alaric saw that they had lost the war, his heart had sunk deep into his chest. It was a sensation he could almost taste. He was alone now, with no alpha by his side, he was nothing more than a rogue sorcerer.

Lucas. The smug bastard had done it. He had gotten everything and he hadn’t even worked for it! Alaric’s mind raced as the embers of his anger flickered to life again. Lucas would go down for what he had done. Herod deserved to rule, not some overconfident alpha who had no understanding of the weight that came with such power.

What stung more than anything, though, was the fact that Herod had trusted Dorian. Stupid. Stupid, smug Dorian, who had charmed Herod with his wit and stupid bravado. Herod had trusted him implicitly, and that trust had been his downfall. If only Alaric had been there in time. If only he had known what was going on behind the scenes. He could have fixed it all. But now, it was too late. Herod wasn’t just defeated; he was gone, and in his place stood a man who didn’t understand what it took to rule the world. A man who would never understand the weight of his responsibility, who would never command the respect that Herod did.

Lucas was the alpha king now. Lucas had her, the goddess of everything, and she was bound to him, the most pitiful, self-absorbed alpha who had no idea what to do with such a sacred bond.

"Take me to your alpha," Alaric muttered through gritted teeth, standing at the edge of the territory. The Gammas on patrol glared at him with suspicion.

"State your business," one of the Gammas barked.

Alaric raised his chin slightly.

"Tell him the fate of the East depends on it," he responded. The Gamma’s brow furrowed slightly, and he exchanged a brief glance with the others. The Gamma hesitated, then muttered something to his comrades before darting off, presumably to deliver the message to the alpha.

Forty-five minutes of waiting. Alaric paced, annoyed by the slow passage of time. He was used to being in control of the situation, used to acting quickly and decisively. But here? Here, he was at the mercy of a weak alpha, an alpha stupid enough to discard of the daughter of the moon.

How did he even get here? He should have been with Herod ruling by his side. Instead, he was stuck in enemy territory, trying to make sense of the mess Lucas had created. The thought of Lucas made his blood boil.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching. The Gamma had returned, and this time, he wasn’t alone. The man walking beside him had an air of authority that immediately caught Alaric’s attention. Tall, broad-shouldered, with a glint of steel in his eyes. This had to be Leon. Alpha Leon. Alaric couldn’t help but study the man with a critical eye. The rumours were right, he was nothing special.

"I hear you have something to say," Leon’s voice was firm, commanding.

"Yes, and what I say, you may not like," Alaric replied.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Alaric. Sorcerer to the King of the North," he said with pride.

"Men!" Leon barked. His Gammas immediately took up positions around them, their postures rigid, their eyes sharp. It was clear Leon wasn’t in the mood for games. But Alaric had no intention of playing fair. After all, he was dealing with a situation far beyond the realm of normal.

"I mean you no harm," Alaric said, raising his hand in a gesture of peace.

"We were told the Alpha King of the North plans to invade the East. Did he send you to scout?" Leon demanded, his eyes narrowing. Alaric raised an eyebrow.

"Oh... but the alpha king has been defeated. By Alpha Lucas," Alaric said. He watched Leon’s face carefully as the words sank in. He expected the shock. What he didn’t expect was the way Leon’s face broke into a dark, amused grin.

"Son of a bitch!" Leon muttered under his breath. Then, as if he couldn’t help himself, he chuckled. "The bastard actually did it. Goddamn." His laugh was low but there was a note of admiration buried in it.

"Goddamn," Leon repeated, shaking his head as if he couldn’t believe it. "Looks like the little shit’s done more than we thought."

"I really do need to speak with you," Alaric said. The waiting game was starting to wear thin, and the gruff look Leon was giving him wasn’t helping. The sooner they got this over with, the better. He wasn’t here for idle chitchat or pleasantries. He had a point to make and, hopefully, an ally to gain. His nerves were thin, fraying like a piece of old rope, but he did his best to keep his voice steady, masking the undercurrent of urgency beneath it.

"Speak..." Leon said finally.

"In private, alpha," Alaric added.

Leon raised an eyebrow, an expression that perfectly conveyed both confusion and a healthy dose of disbelief. "Fine! Come with me," he said after a long pause, clearly not thrilled with the idea of indulging this strange sorcerer. But still, he turned on his heel, his back to Alaric, and led the way. Alaric, for his part, couldn’t resist the wicked grin that spread across his face. That wasn’t so hard, he thought with a touch of smugness. Leon might have been wary, but he was still playing into Alaric’s hands. And that was exactly how he liked it.
