Defying the Rogue Alpha
Chapter 118: Wolf

Chapter 118: Wolf

"Your wolf," she whispered. "The half-shift is sexy."

Dennis blinked. "Sexy? You mean monstrous."

"I like it."

He blinked again.

Oh. She was insane.

His lips curled into a crooked smile. "You’ve got a kink, don’t you?"

"I like danger," she purred, giving him a squeeze that made his hips jerk.

Dennis was no longer in control. That ship had sailed with his belt. Zoe was steering now, and truth be told? He loved it. Loved her wildness. Her confidence. The way she didn’t shy away from him. She didn’t fear the beast in him, she dared it.

And then... she dropped to her knees.

Dennis’s jaw dropped slightly. Oh, Moon.

She looked up at him from below with mischief in her eyes. She was teasing him now and the tension was so tight he thought he might explode from just that look alone.

Then she licked her lips.

Twice. And every nerve in his body fired off.

She took him into her hands, marveling as if he were a prized artifact in a sacred temple. "Not bad," she murmured. "Very not bad."

Dennis didn’t get a chance to respond. She opened her mouth, and when her lips wrapped around him, his head slammed back into the wall.

His hands gripped her hair. He wasn’t pushing, but he needed her. Needed more. Needed everything she was giving and more still.

And holy hell, she delivered.

Zoe moved like someone who had studied the art of pleasure.

Dennis gasped, a sound that didn’t sound like any language he knew.

His legs shook.

His entire soul trembled.

And still she kept going, as if she were trying to destroy him in the best way possible.

"Z-Zoe..." he groaned. "Fuck! You’re perfect."

Dennis blinked again. He was panting. Is this what it’s always like with mates? If so, he had to say a prayer later.

He couldn’t remember...no, he was sure it had never been this good. Not in his wildest moon-drunk dreams. His brain, what was left of it, was somewhere between panic and praise. Because who the hell was this woman? He figured she had been sent by the Moon Goddess with a side note that wished him good luck surviving.

"Zoe..." Dennis choked out. He tightened his grip in her hair, to slow her down. To remind her that if she kept going like that, it would all be over before the real fun began. And he was not ready for it to end. Not even close.

But Zoe had her own plans. And slowing down? Not on the list.

She kept going, stubborn and sensual, clearly enjoying every second of his unraveling. The woman had no mercy. Not for him, not for his self-control, and definitely not for his sanity.

A dangerous growl escaped from deep within his chest. His wolf, Dread, had had enough. With a flash of heat and a jolt of power, Dennis let go of the leash.

His blue eyes glowed gold, his body shifted slightly. He grew broader, his muscles tighter, his scent richer. Even the hairs on his arms bristled with power. He wasn’t fully shifted, but he was no longer just Dennis.

Zoe’s eyes widened in appreciation. She barely had time to grin before he yanked her up and kissed her. His lips crushed against hers with hunger, groaning into her mouth as if he’d been starving for centuries.

She kissed him back with equal fire, tasting the wildness on his tongue. Her arms wound around his shoulders, and she giggled mid-kiss when he literally tore her clothes apart. "Missy is going to be mad." she teased breathlessly.

"I’ll get you more." Dennis growled. There was a dangerous glint in his golden eyes.

He threw her onto the bed. Zoe landed with a soft bounce, propped up on her elbows, wide-eyed but grinning.

Her gaze dragged over him with admiration and awe. The half-shift looked incredible on him. And yes, she noticed everything. Including the very obvious way his body had... grown.

"Holy hell," she moaned. "Is that even legal?"

Dennis smirked and cracked his neck.

Zoe’s laugh turned into a gasp as he grabbed her by the hips and pulled her to the edge of the bed.

He knelt between her legs, spreading them gently but firmly, and lowered his head slightly. Her scent hit him, so intense, it made Dread whimper.

His eyes rolled back for a second. "You smell like trouble," he said.

"I am trouble," she shot back, breathing hard. "But I’m your trouble."

That said, Zoe wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him toward her, both of them sighing.

As Dennis sank into her, he didn’t know where he ended and she began.

Zoe screamed, a mix of pleasure, pain, and shock all wrapped into one heart-stopping moment. It wasn’t just the sensation, it was the size, the sheer magnitude of him inside her. Her body was adjusting, stretching, fighting and surrendering all at once. Her brain fired off warnings and moans at the same time.

"Oh God!" she cried, eyes wide, legs trembling.

"Wrong name," Dennis growled.

"Fuck! Dennis!" she yelped again. And for the record? She wasn’t being dramatic. She had absolutely underestimated this man... or wolf... or whatever or whoever the Moon Goddess had sent her way.

Zoe’s whole soul hitchhiked on that moment. He felt amazing. Too good. Scary good. But also like he was singlehandedly rearranging her internal organs. She was pretty sure her ovaries were now roommates with her lungs. Her body was hugging him tightly, clenching like it wanted to keep him forever.

She glanced toward the door, face flushed. The packhouse was quieter now, most of the wolves out enjoying their freedom. Thank goddess. Because otherwise? This moment would’ve turned into the pack’s evening entertainment.

Still, there was no hiding her scream echoing down the hallway. She was loud. She was unapologetic. And she didn’t care anymore. Not with Dennis looking down at her like that, his hair falling over his golden eyes, his muscles flexing with each calculated, devastating thrust.

She gripped the sheets. Dennis was ruthless. He was fast. Then slow. Then deep. Then teasingly shallow. Her poor brain didn’t know whether to praise him or curse him.

Her thighs trembled, and she cried out again, breathless. "Fuuuuuuck..."

The bed squealed under the force. Then, with one final, heroic creak, it snapped. Right in half. Wood cracked, the mattress dipped.

Zoe snorted, then laughed. But before she could catch her breath, Dennis was back in motion, as if nothing happened.

"What the fuck!"

"You asked for the wolf," he grinned wickedly, "now you get the wolf."

She wasn’t sure how she survived, rocked through another wave of pleasure so fierce it made her toes curl and her vision blur. Her body trembled as she cried out her release, stars exploding behind her eyes.

Dennis howled when his climax hit, the sound raw and primal. He gripped the shattered headboard for dear life, in fear of crushing the woman beneath him, of losing control completely.

He collapsed beside her, chest heaving, both of them sticky with sweat, tangled in what remained of the sheets, and surrounded by broken wood.

Zoe rolled over, her skin warm and slick against the rumpled sheets, her breath still shaky. Her eyes found Dennis, who was lying beside her, chest rising and falling.

"That was..." she began, breathless, staring at the ceiling. "Oh my God... I can’t feel my legs."

Dennis let out a lazy, satisfied chuckle, dragging a hand over his damp forehead as he turned to her, his smile all teeth and triumph. "Same here... babe... same here," he murmured, then leaned over to press a kiss to her temple.

Zoe’s grin widened into a full-on chuckle. Her body, still warm and tingling in all the right places, shook with laughter. And then, the laughter twisted. Her chest tightened. Her grin cracked and tears welled up, sudden and unexpected.

She never cried.

But here she was, lying next to a man who had just made her feel like a human being, like a woman... and she was crying. Why? Because she was happy, she felt peace and she didn’t know what the hell to do with it.

She had grown up in chaos. Pain was her lullaby. Missions were her purpose. Loyalty meant doing the job, even if it meant sacrificing her soul. She wasn’t meant to be soft, to be touched with kindness.

Her mission had been clear: infiltrate, observe, report. Get close if necessary, eliminate if required. She never imagined her heart would get involved. And now she was trapped between two worlds; one she came from and the one she had just tasted.

"Zoe?" Dennis’s voice was cautious, a hint of alarm creeping into it as he propped himself up on one elbow. "Zoe...? What’s going on?" His gaze roamed her tear-streaked face with confusion and rising panic. "Why are you crying? What... what did I do?"

She blinked rapidly, swiping at her cheeks. "I’m sorry," she whispered, slipping out of bed. "I... I can’t do this."

Dennis sat up straighter, completely baffled, his heartbeat hammering against his ribs. "Wait, what? What do you mean you can’t do this? We just... we literally just did this. Zoe, what are you talking about?"
