Death… And Me -
Chapter 3580: No Good News
Chapter 3580: No Good News
Kentucky’s eyes narrowed, and he closed his wings in front of him. His Scales and Feather Blades hardened, even using his Celestial Bloodline to increase his defense.
Celis gave up the wall of vines and roots he made on the other side. He did better and simply disconnected from them and jumped out of the path, flashing several tens of meters away.
The two flashes of light that came from Kikan’s mouth turned into blood spears, very similar to the ones Rifindio liked to use. It’s just that they were far more strong than what Rifindio could pull off at the moment. One of the attacks missed Celis, while the other slammed right on Kentucky’s defenses.
*Boom!*
*Ouch!*
Kentucky looked at his wings, and although the damage wasn’t high, that spear still pierced through his Feather Blades and Scales, only stopping slightly deep inside. It didn’t make it through his wings, though. "Where did this guy find all this power?" Kentucky said, shaking his wings and throwing the blood spear away. The laws and all the power they carried were easily dealt with, too.
"Tch..." Roan clicked his tongue, feeling the damage caused to his body by using the Red Lightning Enhancement. "Can’t you improve this shit? It’s annoying to have to heal every time we use it."
"Fuck you!" Rean cursed back. "I told you before, there is nothing wrong with the skill. Our bodies are just too weak! Things should get better once we reach the Space-Time Realm and Divinity Realm, though."
"Whatever..." Roan walked back in Kikan’s direction. Surprisingly, Kikan’s wings began to regenerate as blood flowed out, taking the shape of new wings. Yet, Roan could also tell that that kind of regeneration took a heavy toll on Kikan’s power.
"Seems like that ability of his isn’t without its drawbacks," Rean commented, also walking in the Camazotz Bat direction. "His body is spasming, and he is having quite some difficulty controlling all that power. I just wonder how he managed to steal everyone’s power so easily. It was as if the closer you were, the stronger the pulling force becomes. Those near him exploded almost instantly. Had we not helped our friends, they would have exploded as well, and they were quite far."
Kikan glared at the twins. They talked as if he was already done for. However, he truly didn’t know what to do. He was supposed to have surpassed anyone else in pure power, even with his Transition Realm cultivation. Yet, for a moment there, he couldn’t see the twins’ movements. Not to mention, Kentucky and Celis didn’t seem to have much difficulty defending against his attacks either. "Don’t get any closer!"
Then, all the power he had absorbed began to accumulate around his core, and the power there went chaotic. It definitely could explode at any moment. "If I’m to die here, I’m definitely bringing your little group with me."
The twins stopped. The guy was still a Divinity Realm expert, after all. If he exploded his core, he would die, but the explosion would definitely be dangerous, even for the twins’ group. It was worse, as Kikan was using the power he robbed from the other deaths to increase its potential.
"So he said," Rean commented to Roan on his side.
Roan narrowed his eyes. "So that’s how it is? Suicide? I expected more of a Camazotz Bat of the all so powerful Supreme Palace. That’s quite a joke."
"Shut up!" Kikan didn’t want to hear it. "Death or humiliation, I’m not the type to care about the latter. If I live, that’s all that matters."
"I have to admit he is right," Rean commented with a smile. "But aren’t you forgetting something?"
"What?" Kikan asked back.
"Just now, we could have killed you, but we didn’t. We purposely aimed at your wings, although you managed to regrow them. Can you imagine if we had targeted your head and core? Not even your soul would have remained. So you see, we didn’t want to kill you from the very start," Rean explained.
"Ha!" Kikan wasn’t an idiot, though. "That’s because then you could read my memories instead, wasn’t it?"
"Sure," Rean didn’t lie, "but at least you wouldn’t die. Well, probably. That depended on how much your soul could take while we read your past memories."
"That’s even worse than death!" Kikan was fuming. "I would basically become a retard!"
Roan snorted. "Hmph! Some idiots would rather become retards than die. But you... you won’t have the choice to die today."
"What do y-"
*Puft!*
Suddenly, a vine shot out of the ground, piercing Kikan from the back and going straight for his core! It was Celis, who took the guy by surprise.
Earlier, Celis had abandoned the vines and roots that he was using to connect to the vines and roots on the other side of the corridor. The same ones he used to block the path so no one could flee. Still, even if he cut himself from them, they were still part of his body. He could control them as long as there was a little connection.
When the twins cut Kikan’s wings, his body fell forward, and only stopped near where Celis’s vines and roots remained, even if Celis himself wasn’t there anymore.
Now, in the place where Celis was standing, there was a hole in the ground right below his feet, and it was it that connected to those same vines and roots he left back there. In that instant, Celis was able to pierce through Kikan’s body and envelop his core, taking control of all the energy that came from it.
Kikan immediately tried to cause the explosion, knowing that he had no way out. Too bad that with Celis’s vines there, he couldn’t even control his own energy properly. All those words the twins spoke were nothing more than a smokescreen to take Kikan’s attention away from the vines Celis left behind.
*Tud!*
Kikan fell to the ground, but he was still alive, just not able to move.
"Is this enough?" Celis asked, speaking as if he hadn’t done anything out of the ordinary. "It’s impressive how these top powers’ arrogance always plays against themselves. Why don’t they ever learn?"
Rean shrugged. "It is good that they don’t." Then, he turned to Rifindio. "This guy’s Camazotz Bloodline is pretty thick, isn’t it? Do you want it?"
"Eh?!" Rifindio was taken aback. But then, his eyes lit up! "Yes! Absolutely!" How could he refuse? Above all, he still considered himself a Camazotz Bat. Even if his bloodline mutated, he was more than willing to increase the Camazotz part concentration of that mutation.
Elsie and Royer were still shocked by all they saw, but they came forward nonetheless. "Your group... is full of surprises, isn’t it?"
Rean smiled, but Roan ignored them. He was more interested in something else. "How did you make everyone suddenly explode and even rob them of their energy, blood, and everything else? What was that? And the fact you figured out we aren’t from this Universe seems to be connected to it."
Everyone went silent. Indeed. Even Elsie and Royer were affected by that. They were sure they never had any interactions with Camazotz Bats before, so that made no sense. Camazotz Bats rarely came down to the Divine Realm to start with.
"Hmph! Just kill me! There is no way I’m telling you anything." Kikan had already resigned to his fate, and he knew no one else would enter this corridor. Let’s not forget every time the paths diverged, only a certain number could follow each path, and then, no one else could go through it anymore as an invisible barrier appeared.
"Too bad!" Roan couldn’t care less.
*Grab!*
He caught Kikan’s head and sent his Soul Power and Sky Energy inside. Since that was the case, he might as well read Kikan’s memories by force. He had no intention to let him go anyway. At the moment, almost no one knows about his group’s real power, and it would be better if it continued like this. Kikan would definitely tell them off.
Roan closed his eyes while Kikan contorted in pain. Roan held nothing back, and he didn’t care a bit about making Kikan into a retard as a result. However, as he read Kikan’s memories, he touched something.
*Click!*
"Shit!" Roan cursed, followed by a kick. "Let him go, Celis!"
Kikan then fell into the trench, but he barely went more than a few meters down until...
*Boom!*
His head exploded! The explosion, fortunately, wasn’t anything that big. Celis had taken his sweet time to absorb a big part of Kikan’s Divine Energy, even if he couldn’t use it directly due to compatibility.
Rean understood. "His memories were sealed?"
Roan nodded. "Yes. At least, the most important ones were. But I was able to see a few things before I kicked him down."
He then turned to Rifindio, Elsie, and Royer. "You guys are fucked."
