Death… And Me
Chapter 3566: The Limit

Chapter 3566: The Limit

"That’s it!" Before Rifindio could even check that area, another voice came from behind. Rifindio looked over and saw Elsie, followed by the twins’ group.

"Rifindio, don’t go too far. What if the guys around targeted you?" Kentucky complained, looking everywhere and seeing nothing out of the norm.

Rean was more interested in Elsie, though. "Did you find something?"

Elsie nodded, then looked back. They had walked back quite a few kilometers, so they were also outside the range of the experts near the lake. There were others also far away from the lake, but not where they were at the moment. "Rifindio, how did you find it?"

Rifindio looked as puzzled as ever. "Find? Find what? I’m lost here."

Elsie narrowed her eyes, not truly believing him. She looked at Rean, who understood what she wanted. A second later, Rean’s Light Element gathered, and the light around their group bent to his will. They simply disappeared from everyone’s sight. "Is this enough?"

Elsie nodded. "Yes, take a look here."

Some noticed Rean’s actions, but no one seemed to care. Plenty of groups were using their own concealing methods as they didn’t want others to see what they were doing.

Elsie got past Rifindio, walking in the same direction he was a moment ago. She had something similar to a Spatial Ring attached to her core, especially for this trip, where she couldn’t access her Pocket Dimensional Realm. From there, she took out a medallion with a picture of a small stone in it.

It didn’t seem special, and the twins’ group couldn’t feel anything from it, even with their Divine Senses. However, when Elsie approached the area Rifindio was moving to...

*Zummm...*

The medallion lit up with a yellow light... no, it was a golden light! Space contorted, and some kind of door appeared in front of their group. No, it was more like a small compartment, way too small for anyone to fit inside. Well, if Elsie dispersed her body projection, her core alone should fit in it. It also had the same color as the light from their Universe, green.

That didn’t matter, though. She just opened it, and inside, they saw a few bottles. Elsie took them out, and as if detecting that the bottles were removed, the compartment disappeared. Finally, Elsie distributed the bottles.

As one could imagine, everyone was puzzled, looking at Elsie and waiting for her to explain what had just happened.

She put her medallion away and finally spoke. "I told you before, didn’t I? I have my reasons to be here. Don’t ask me how I know about this. All you need to know is the contents of the bottle."

"It’s an antidote," Rean spoke before Elsie could say anything.

"Eh?!" Elsie looked at Rean, shocked. "Y-You... How did you know?"

Rean faintly smiled. She truly has no idea how much Rean had worked with poisons, corruptions, diseases, and all kinds of things similar to them in the past. He himself had used his Purification Skill to get rid of many of those. He just needed a quick check with his Divine Sense to identify the liquid’s purpose. "As I thought. The water of the lake can be countered, can’t it?"

Seeing that Rean didn’t want to talk about it, Elsie didn’t insist either. It was good since that meant she didn’t need to explain herself either. "I believe that’s the use of this liquid."

Kentucky narrowed his eyes. "You are a Spirit. You don’t really have a body. How do you intend to take this antidote?"

Elsie shook her head. "You will see."

Roan took his bottle and used his knowledge about alchemy and Divine Sense to check the contents. "What I can confirm is that it is not harmful. As to what it can do, I’m not certain."

"Hey, look!" Suddenly, they heard a commotion by the lake.

Several experts from the various Universes approached it. On their hands... bottles with purple liquid, several of them! "The same bottles as Elsie’s..."

Elsie sighed. "Sure enough, they came prepared as well..." she murmured to herself. "We should join them."

The twins’ group followed Elsie, and at the same time, they looked at the lake. The experts with the purple bottles began to pour the contents into the lake, and that caused a shift in the murky water.

The dark color slowly gave way to a slightly clearer shade, although it was still black. More of more of those bottle liquids were thrown inside, and the water of the entire lake continued to change, starting from where the bottles’ liquids were poured.

At some point, those around noticed a pattern. Most of the experts from the top powers from each Universe seemed to have those bottles. Somewhere on the left, several Camazotz Bats did the same thing, and Rifindio found Rafa, also pouring the contents of a bottle inside the lake. For a moment, he noticed her eyes turning in his direction, and he quickly averted his gaze. They only found these bottles because he followed her... and didn’t find her. He couldn’t help but feel like he had been lured there.

You also had those from the Dread Ship Sect of Universe F951 performing the same actions. Then, a lot of black clothed experts from Universe F955, from a power also known as the Mouth of the Beast Organization, followed suit. They were the top and controlling power of that Universe.

There were a few exceptions, but the majority of the powers with those bottles of purple liquid were definitely the controlling powers of their Universes.

Initially, the twins’ group thought the Camazotz looked as lost as themselves and that they didn’t know much about this place. Now, the idea that they didn’t know anything about the Palace was gone. There was no way they didn’t have some inside information. But then again, the leaders of their organizations reached the Celestial Realm in this palace. It made sense that they knew something.

What angered everyone was that these experts from the top powers had never been here before. They could have arrived early, but they didn’t. What did that mean? They slowed down on purpose, aware of what was going to happen by the lake! They slowed down and waited for the explosions to happen! That was their way of reducing the competition. Too bad no one would dare to do anything against them, even if they noticed that.

"Should we also pour our bottles’ liquids there?" Kentucky asked, concerned. If they did that, they would catch the other groups’ attention.

Roan shook his head. "If we do, others will think we have information about the palace."

Elsie agreed with him. "He is right, but if not enough bottles are found, we won’t have other choice. We will have to add ours to help clear the lake’s water. Otherwise, we will be stuck here."

Roan agreed with her. He could see the lake was clearing up, but it was still pretty dark. There was probably a threshold that could be used, and everyone who watched the lake’s transformation thought the same.
