Death… And Me
Chapter 3540: Something Wrong

Chapter 3540: Something Wrong

Elsie spent her days in pretty much solitude. She tried to wander around a few times, but she never managed to go anywhere too far from her starting point. That was obvious, as Sister Orb always had an eye on the entire Dimensional Realm.

Sometimes, she complained and shouted, wanting the twins to go and see her. Yet, not even their shadow appeared. They were cultivating, and Elsie knew that. There was no way they would stop just because she asked.

Then, there were other times when she lost her patience, shouting that she wanted to leave and couldn’t deal with waiting anymore. Well, her wishes were always fulfilled. As long as she said she wanted to leave, a portal to the outside world would appear just by her side, no questions asked.

For some reason, every time it happened, she felt even worse, as if she was losing some kind of battle of pride or whatever, giving up in the end. So, eventually, the portals closed, and she went back to her own cultivation.

Do not misunderstand, though. It wasn’t that Elsie didn’t have the patience to cultivate. If that was the case, she wouldn’t have reached the Space-Time Realm, nor would she have comprehended the Sixth Stage of Sickle Intent. It’s just that her situation was complicated, although the twins never wanted to hear about it.

Suddenly, as she cultivated, Rean and Roan appeared nearby. Even Kentucky and Celis were there as well. "Now, would you look at that? She is still here," Rean commented with a smile.

"Ah!" Naturally, Elsie noticed that and immediately looked back at them. "Just where the hell have you all been?! Have you finally given up? I told you that this little amount of cultivation time wouldn’t make much of a differen-"

Yet, she noticed her Divine Sense wasn’t being blocked, so she checked their cultivation, which caused her words to stop middle way. Surprise couldn’t even start to describe her feelings after seeing them. "Ele-Ele-Elemental Space Realm?! You went from the Middle Stage of the Space-Bending Realm to the Elemental Space Realm in just 91 years?!"

"Yeap," Kentucky nodded. "We are amazing, you know? Hahaha!"

Elsie felt like crying. The same stages took her several hundreds of years, after all, and she was already quite fast in her race. "Just who are you? This kind of cultivation speed- No, wait! Are you perhaps related to the Supreme Palace? Or maybe the Ringel Organization? The Krisanden Sect? You must be! Only if you were related to those powers would you be able to cultivate so fast!"

They heard from Rifindio how their speed was indeed incredible but that the Supreme Palace and a few other powers also had experts capable of cultivating just as fast. It’s just that those who could do it were extremely rare, even among the experts in those places.

"Hum..." Rean pondered a bit. "You could say we are indeed related to one of them."

Well, that wasn’t a lie. They have Rifindio, and Rifindio is... or at least was a Camazotz Bat. So, they do have a connection with the Supreme Palace. Just not the kind of connection Elsie was thinking about.

"Sigh..." She sighed, or pretended to with her body projection, at least. "What do you want from me? There is no need to hide anymore. If you have such a connection, you must be related to the guys coming after me."

"We still have no idea what you did, nor who are the people coming after you," Roan answered.

"Yea? Alright, now that you said you had a connection with the Supreme Palace, how about you let me leave?" Elsie snorted, expecting them to do nothing.

*Zup!*

Once again, the portal to the outside world opened. "As you wish. Goodbye. Oh, and we are on another continent at the moment, so it should at least take some time for you to be tracked again. Good luck."

Elsie wanted to cry again. That was not how the script was supposed to play. "T-Then, I’m leaving!" Still, she tested it.

She came outside, and the portal to the Dimensional Realm was still there. She noticed the concealing formation around the area, obviously made to hide the Dimensional Realm entrance. Finally, she darted out of the concealing formation, disappearing in the distance.

"Sister Orb, keep the portal open," Roan asked.

"How long do you think it will take?" Rean wondered on the side.

"I think it won’t take more than five minutes!" Kentucky placed his bet.

"She was testing us, so I bet ten minutes," Celis joined.

[Heheh! I bet 20 minutes. That’s when the annoying idea that her enemies are closing in because of her tracker will start to truly feel unbearable.]

"Well, then I go for 15 minutes," Rean shrugged, placing his bet out of fun.

Rean, Kentucky, Celis, and Sister Orb looked at Roan.

"What? I don’t give a shit about your bets," to which he ignored completely.

Yet, they continued to stare at him, closer, closer, and then even closer. Veins started to pop out of his head out of anger, but they all ignored him. As if he could do something to all of them at once. "Fuck! Alright! 25 minutes. Now, get out of my face before I start cutting you all to pieces!"

And the answer was... 18 minutes and 44 seconds!

Space opened, and a Spatial Gate appeared. Elsie came out of it, diving straight back into the Dimensional Realm. "How could you let me leave like that?! Are you not interested at all?! You are hateful! Can’t you just remove this fucking tracker or whatever then?!"

[I won!] Sister Orb cheered. She was the closest to the right time. Too bad she was invisible to the Zuhure Spirit.

"Sigh..." Rean and the others didn’t like they lost, but at least Elsie came back. "Anyway, since you are back, we can finally start."

"So you finally want to continue to learn the Sixth Stage. Good, let’s resume from where we stopped," Elsie spoke.

Yet, the twins’ group shook their heads. "Actually, we want to hear about your situation. Why are you being pursued?"

Elsie almost lost control over her energies. Out of nowhere, they completely changed their narrative. Weren’t they the ones who absolutely didn’t want to hear about it? "I say, there must be something wrong with your heads."
