Chapter 61: CRACKS

_Leo eyes have the ability to see things for what they truly are_ Kakashi paused for a while. "Don’t tell me that..."

"Yes, this is not over" Leo confirmed.

The door suddenly close shut and all the lightbulbs began flickering intensely. The demon corpses started coming together, forming a bigger monster, low growls and whispers could be heard around them even though Kakashi couldn’t pinpoint it’s location, he can clearly hear their silent whispers.

"...Help me..."

The monster limbs were all awkwardly bent over and it could barely stand straight,it brown skin was both rough and slimy, it had a long scorpion-like stinger which was dropping acid, it face was flat because it had no eyes but it’s maw was wide open.

*Shriek!!!!!*

The monster shrieked and launch towards Kakashi with a tail attack. Kakashi took his short sword from Leo and used it to block the attack. The monster opened it maw and spat acid at him, Kakashi quickly held Leo shirt and jumped out of the way.

"Let go of me, I can do on my own!" Leo yelled as he pushed Kakashi away and stared at the monster.

The monster froze for a while before breaking free, Leo fell to the ground and covered his face as blood slowly dropped from his eyes. The monster launched another attack with it’s stinger at Leo but Kakashi jumped in front of him and caught the stinger.

"Stop pushing yourself in danger!. I’m protecting because I want to, not because it’s my job!. If you want to kill yourself, do it when I’m not around because I’ve promised myself that I’ll never let anyone die!, Not when I’m around!" Kakashi yelled as he struggles with the monster who was trying to pull it’s stinger back.

The longer Kakashi held the stinger, the more his hands melted due to the acidic slime that covered the monster’s body. With a violent twist to his right, Kakashi was able to pull the 200kg monster and threw it against the wall. The monster crashed into the wall, covering half of the building with dust but the wall didn’t break.

"But... I can do it, it...it’s not my fault..." Leo stammered, his body shivering as the blood that dripped from his eyes was accompanied by some drops of tears.

Kakashi tuned to Leo but the monster suddenly stood up and charged at Kakashi, successfully grabbing him by the face and slamming his against the other side of the wall, it opened it maw and was acid to spit acid when Kakashi held his maw and forcefully closed it mouth before stabbing it in its neck.

"No one is expecting anything of you, so stop pushing yourself so hard. I don’t know what might have happened to you but if you keep doing that, you’re going to kill yourself. Right now, I want Leo’s help, the Leo I meant this morning, the Leo that’s always calm..."

*Shriek!!!*

The monster let out a sharp cry of pain as it tried to throw Kakashi away but he held firmly to the monster, stabbed it in it’s eye before pinning it down and finally cut off it’s head.

Kakashi was able to kill an unknown rank monster with just a few burns thanks to his karma shield.

"But I can’t!. Don’t you get it!" Leo revealed his eyes. They had cracks in them, like they were made of glass. "My eyes are cracked, without them, I’m useless!"

*GROWL!!!*

The monster growled a little, it’s wounds gradually regenerating. Kakashi quickly jumped towards Leo and stood in front of him with his short sword in his right hand.

"Yeah, you might be useless but you still decided to fight. You should be proud of that" Kakashi tried to force a smile but it just wasn’t working.

Leo eyes widened, blood slowly dropped from the cracks, his chest became tighter._What’s this feeling?_ He asked himself.

"C...an you still see?" Kakashi asked, struggling with his breathing.

"A little, but y...yeah" Leo answered, but his voice cracked for a different reason.

"Look for it’s core. I’ve cut off it’s head with a holy sword but it still regenerated, I’m not sure if this is it’s real body"

"Sure!" Leo quickly looked around, his eyes cracked even more while the monster was still regenerating before standing on it’s rather tiny feet. "There!. Right above us!"

Leo shouted and pointed up at a spot on ceiling where there was a lump of flesh.

"Thanks!" Kakashi yelled and turned to the monster. "You are going on a trip with me"

Kakashi immediately charged at the monster who retaliated by spitting acid at him, he dodged till he was close enough before using his arm which was reinforced with a karma shield to block the last attack before grabbing the demon’s stinger and threw it towards the core, but the time he jumped after it and stabbed it through the monster and right at the core.

*Shriek!!!!!*

The monster screamed as Kakashi stabbed it to it’s core and it’s body started to melt. Kakashi fell back to the ground but landed on his feet.

"Are you okay, Leo?" Kakashi asked as he slowly limped toward Leo, his left leg and right arm had also suffer some burns and so was his right cheek. The blood had completely disintegrated from his body before he was able to make it to where Leo was.

"It’s nothing new, I’m going to be okay"

Kakashi squatted before Leo then blushed and quickly covered his face. "Leo!, Y-your shirt!"

"What’s wrong with my sh... Wahh!" Leo suddenly realized and used his arm to covered his chest.

"You got boobs!" Kakashi exclaimed. "Don’t tell me... You’re a..."

"No, damnit!" Leo yelled at Kakashi. "I have boobs because... I’m a... Girl" she said looking flustered.

"Wait, that isn’t possible!. The Leo I met was a boy, he looked like a boy, acted like a boy and also sounded like a boy!"

"I said I’m a girl!!!. Now stop staring at... Argh!!" Leo yelled and covered her eyes as it began to dripping blood, the cracks had become wider.

"Just calm down" Kakashi said. "We just need something to wrap around it"

Kakashi looked around but the only thing he could find was the bandage Leo had used to wrap around her chest.
