Chapter 219: 125. New Situation_5

Jiutiao Meijie stretched out her other hand, caressing Dubian Che’s Adam’s apple.

"I’m asking you!" Dubian Che grabbed her fidgeting hand.

Jiutiao Meijie sighed as if she was annoyed to death, "Fine, I promise you."

"Really?"

"Really... or is it fake?" Jiutiao Meijie said with a teasing smile, "You’ll have to keep a close eye on me from now on."

"That’s settled then."

"Mhm, mhm." Jiutiao Meijie lazily responded twice, "Enough? I’m going to take a bath."

"Wait a moment." Dubian Che flipped off the covers and jumped down from the bed.

Jiutiao Meijie, with most of her body exposed, didn’t bother reaching for the blanket.

Dubian Che took out the prepared gift from inside his suit and as he lay back on the bed, he covered them both with the blanket once more.

"It’s like a child hiding under the covers to sneak a read of a novel," he whispered to Jiutiao Meijie, "This is my birthday gift to you."

Jiutiao Meijie opened her eyes, glanced at it, and closed them again: "I don’t want cosmetics."

"This was discovered alongside the ’Healing Medicine’."

Jiutiao Meijie opened her eyes again. She didn’t look at the cosmetic but fixed her stare on Dubian Che.

"What’s wrong?" Dubian Che was gambling.

Jiutiao Meijie allowed only him to touch her; introduced him to everyone in her social circle; agreed to temper her anger and no longer kill on a whim; even let him spend the night, though they didn’t go all the way... He was testing, whether she truly had feelings for him.

If on account of a newly found incredible item, Jiutiao Meijie turned against him, pressing him about whether he had others, then from now on, he would only be consumed with thoughts of revenge, no matter what sugar-coated bullets were fired at him.

But if Jiutiao Meijie really started to like him and wouldn’t kill over trivialities in the future, then he wouldn’t look forward to getting items that could kill anymore.

Both of them stared silently at each other.

Suddenly, Jiutiao Meijie flipped over and straddled Dubian Che, her hands clutching his neck.

"Tell me," her long hair fell on Dubian Che’s face, "how many more things are you hiding from me?"

"There’s, there’s nothing. Really," Dubian Che’s breath hitched.

Jiutiao Meijie watched him for a while, then loosened her grip and collapsed on him as if sapped of strength: "If I find out, I’ll chop off your legs, make you sit in a wheelchair, and have you by my side for a lifetime."

"Truly, there’s nothing left."

"Your tone doesn’t seem so sure."

"There’s really nothing!"

Ignoring the fear in Dubian Che’s voice, Jiutiao Meijie took the round box of cosmetics: "What’s this for?"

"It might not be of much use to the current you." Dubian Che wrapped his arms around her waist, his gaze also on the round box, "It’s a beauty cream that can treat acne, remove spots, whiten, fight aging, and repair and brighten your skin tone."

"Is that all?" Jiutiao Meijie lifted her face, glancing at him.

Whispering into her ear, Dubian Che murmured, "Just one bottle is effective, the results are permanent, and there are no side effects."

Jiutiao Meijie narrowed her eyes slightly: "It won’t, just like the last medicine, test positive for a bunch of elements not found on Earth, will it?"

"Probably," Dubian Che replied evasively.

With a hum, Jiutiao Meijie tossed the round box aside, quickly engulfed by the soft bed.

She wrapped her arms around Dubian Che’s neck: "Carry me to the bath. I’m sleepy."

...

The next morning, because he still had to go to school and hurry home to change into his uniform, Dubian Che woke up early and bade farewell to Jiutiao’s mother.

Jiutiao’s mother had someone drive him back to his rental house; this time, he didn’t refuse.

It was after ten o’clock before Jiutiao Meijie lazily got out of bed.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Jiutiao’s mother teased as she looked at her daughter.

"How could I sleep well with all the groping." Jiutiao Meijie sat at the dining table as a servant had already brought over the meal.

"You guys go out." After the servants left, she put the round box on the table and picked up a spoon, saying, "It’s new."

Jiutiao’s mother’s eyes flashed as she reached out for the round box.

Opening the lid, inside was a transparent soft substance with a faint scent of herbs.

"What does it do?" she asked.

Jiutiao Meijie took a sip of milk that had just been delivered from Hokkaido that morning: "They say it can repair the skin? And treat acne and fight aging."

"There must be some special effects, right?" Jiutiao’s mother had used even the most expensive skincare products before.

"He said one bottle would take effect and that the results last a long time with no side effects. The truth of that, though... Mother, what are you doing?"

Jiutiao’s mother, not paying attention to her daughter, took a little bit out and spread it on the back of her hand.

A cold sensation emanated from the smeared area, and after the chill faded, that small patch of skin became clear like dust-wiped glass, visibly different from the surrounding skin.

Both mother and daughter observed this astonishing transformation, even more exciting than the initial ’Healing Medicine’.

Jiutiao’s mother closed the box, stashing it away in her kimono.

After doing this, she asked her daughter, as if nothing had happened, "How well have you trained him?"

"He’s often wilful but occasionally obeys, giving him a sense of achievement; I deliberately command him to do things, and when he fails, I punish him by giving him perks; I even turn a blind eye to his flirting with Kiyono Lin, pretending I don’t know..."

After hearing her daughter out, Jiutiao’s mother said, "It seems you enjoy it too, nearly being trained by him."

"What does it matter? In the end, he and I will certainly be together for life. He cannot escape the palm of my hand. It’s okay to indulge him a bit."

Jiutiao’s mother nodded: "Then, about his involvement with the Kiyono family’s daughter, what do you plan to do?"

"That’s not urgent. I remember everything, and after we get married, I’ll deal with him properly," Jiutiao Meijie revealed a cold smirk.

"You handle your own matters." Having said that, Jiutiao’s mother gracefully stood up and walked upstairs.

"Mother, don’t use all of it, I want to send it to the research institute."

"I know, am I not capable of handling things?"
