Damned Healer -
Chapter 160: Fully Heal
Chapter 160: Fully Heal
Darian immediately felt a subtle death-Yin rising in that fallen body. After cutting the connection, whatever was sustaining its life vanished along with it.
They moved closer, and Darian carefully analyzed the body. For someone to become a Risen, the three life energies would first get corrupted and disappear. He pulled out the Stellar Ore and used a bit of all three energies.
He placed them exactly where they should go inside the body. But he quickly realized that the body couldn’t use them anymore. The corruption had spread through all the flesh and meridians.
Darian already knew he couldn’t heal corruption coming from a Risen Chief or above. Wounds caused by them, if purified quickly before sinking too deep into the body, could still be removed.
But all these Risen had been transformed directly by a Risen Lord’s power. The level was insanely dense, and their bodies were completely corrupted. Technically, it should’ve been impossible to do anything about it...
But after the connection with that so-called ’Celestial Shadow’ disappeared... he tried using the white power on the body.
Niara’s eyes lit up.
"Success!"
The physical body was cleansed of corruption like normal. He focused again on the life energies and watched them get absorbed.
The heart started beating again. The soul and mind stabilized.
"I... I can fully heal a Risen..."
Niara’s heart was pounding like a drum. This was insane. Every time someone became a Risen, there was no way back besides killing them. That had become universal knowledge: Risen were people who had lost all life and turned into monsters that needed to be eliminated.
That time with the demon beast, Darian had only stopped the corruption from reaching the mental sea and completing the transformation. Technically, he hadn’t healed anything, and that wolf was still unconscious even now.
But this time, he actually pulled it off. Someone dead was back... well, not exactly, Niara quickly realized.
That Mannaz’s body, after being fully corrupted and transformed, even though it technically wasn’t a Risen anymore, was still purple and gave off a bad feeling.
It was like taking a piece of rotten meat and trying to roast it, hoping to clean it all up. Would it ever be the same as a fresh piece? Of course not.
Would the other Mannaz in the universe accept this person, even if they technically weren’t a Risen anymore? Sadly, the vast majority wouldn’t.
Darian nodded, not caring about that. This kind of full healing came with tons of side effects. This person would never be like a normal Mannaz again.
As for this new ability of his, it only worked because the connection was still faint and the Risen not fully transformed. He was sure breaking the connection on fully transformed ones would be much harder. But in the future, maybe he’d find other ways to help.
He turned to Lucy, Lucius, and the others.
"Don’t kill anyone else. Just keep them locked up. I’ll end this quickly."
Unfortunately, he only got this ability after creating the second ring and changing bodies. Too many innocent Mannaz who had been turned into Risen had already died. Now, he felt responsible for saving the ones that were left.
Niara took a deep breath and understood his intentions. Soon, Darian cut the connection of all the remaining ones and healed them. It took just over an hour.
In the end, seeing the Risen without corruption and feeling life inside them... those Elders and Ruoku were staring wide-eyed, not even knowing what to think.
"This..."
"They won’t wake up anytime soon, but we’re taking them with us. Call Endi to help. Use the Academy’s teleport inscriptions and move them to that planet," Darian said quickly, and the four of them nodded in understanding.
He took a deep breath, sensing the entire Academy. Then, with his new senses, he easily scanned the whole planet.
"They’re all gathered inside the Academy... good. Let’s go." He said to the twins, who nodded.
The three moved toward the central building. At the entrance, Darian pointed Lucy and Lucius toward two much farther regions. As soon as the twins got close to the area, they clearly sensed where the traitors were hiding, and no one would be able to escape.
They were near the treasures and the most important spots in the Academy, right beside thousands of other regular Mannaz. That was probably where they were transforming the Risen with the Academy Leader’s help.
"Wipe them out. Then, head to the main library and pick out some martial arts for your Summoners. Stick to C and D level, just grab whatever Jade Slips seem interesting. Later, you’ll study them properly. The Academy has copies of everything, so there’s no problem taking some," Darian said calmly.
Lucy nodded. "Bro, after that, we’re looting everything and leaving, right?"
Darian shook his head. "No. Just make sure you grab the spatial rings from all the traitors. That’s ours by right."
He let out a small sigh when he saw the twins’ expressions change. "We’ll be forced to leave, but if we take everything from the Academy, this galaxy won’t last much longer. There are too many traitor Summoners and Spiritual Guardians who want to kill us, but the people of this galaxy aren’t at fault. Unfortunately, I still don’t have the power to protect them, so we need to leave this place as safe as possible."
The problem was that the stronger summoners were all out in that attempt to take another Galaxy back. No doubt, within those with three rigns or more, there were traitors. If any of those disregarded everything and attack Darian and Niara, they would be dead for sure. They couldn’t stay, especially now that Darian’s powers were shown so openly.
The twins gave small nods. They were going to run and never come back. The obvious choice would be to take everything they could to try and survive, but Darian wasn’t going to sacrifice an entire galaxy for a chance at life.
Niara let out a quiet sigh. Soon, the twins and their Summoners ran off.
Darian could feel the traitors through karma, and no one could escape the planet. The Academy Leader helped by gathering all his allies and making them work, so they didn’t need to waste time hunting people down.
They moved into a passage that led underground.
A large door appeared ahead of them. Niara clenched her fists.
*BOOM!*
Inside, around ten Elders with desperate faces stared at them. They had no idea the Academy Leader had already been defeated.
"Well, well... our time has finally come." Niara spat, clenching her fists, excited.
Right in front of her was the Elder who had screwed them over during the rookie test, stolen their stuff, and even helped cause that massacre among the Abyssal Corrupted Wolves.
Darian had promised she could take her revenge, and the day had finally come.
"NO!"
*BANG!*
She gave him a "light" punch to the stomach, sending him flying and smashing hard into the wall.
Darian, still wrapped around her, waved his hand. Something small floated toward him. It was the Elder’s spatial ring.
He looked inside.
"The treasure’s back with its rightful owner," he muttered, seeing that thousand-year-old Rainbow Lily he’d been forced to hand over in the past. Now, with his increased power, it had become an even greater treasure for him to use.
*BANG! BANG!*
Niara had her moment. She didn’t just hit that Elder, she went for all of them. She liked fighting, but there was no joy in something like this. She just needed to make them suffer, to avenge the demon beasts that had been killed.
Once she got tired, Darian didn’t forget to give that Elder an extra gift: a shadow rune.
Once it was all over and the rings were collected, Darian looked around. This place was really close to the core of the central inscription.
They went deeper underground through the corridors.
Soon, they reached a room with a sea of golden runes, now almost completely black. This was the heart of the galaxy’s inscription. Floating in the center was a celestial blue sphere, but it looked pale and fragile.
Darian gave a nod and removed all the corruption from the golden runes, but secretly left some of his black power hidden inside. You never know what the future holds.
As they approached the sphere, Niara felt that trace of Bloodline and primordial Divine Dragon power she had left there. It was weak because she had stolen almost all of it for herself. When she was in the library, she could’ve taken everything... but she hadn’t done it, or the galaxy’s protection would’ve disappeared.
"That bastard burned through 95% of it all. When the Risen realize that, they’re gonna attack the galaxy with everything they’ve got, now that the inscription defenses are weak," Darian said, and Niara’s eyes widened.
But he was way too calm. She took a deep breath, knowing everything would be fine. She would never doubt him again.
"Use your own Bloodline and burn your power to help the inscription. With what you have... once the inscription absorbs it, it’ll automatically gather energy from the universe."
She didn’t hesitate and reached out, touching the sphere. Her Bloodline reacted, burning all her power at once.
Green scales appeared all over her body and pulsed.
That power was drawn into the sphere, which started trembling.
The whole place began to vibrate. First the Academy, then the entire planet. Within seconds, the whole galaxy seemed to shake slightly.
After an hour, Niara pulled her hand back, breathing heavily.
Her entire Bloodline was drained. She was weak and exhausted.
But she hugged her chest, feeling her partner wrapped around her, a relaxing sensation washing over her.
That’s when Darian realized why she felt so much more comfortable with him close: his body was stimulating her Bloodline, and whatever was inside her was regenerating way faster.
He sighed and checked the sphere. "It’s at 60%. That’s enough."
He turned to her with a serious expression. "Let’s go. We need to find that thing... or we’re really screwed."
