Chapter 150: They Made The Choice
Chapter 150: They Made The Choice
It was noon, and the blazing sunlight hit a massive tower made of reddish stones. At the same time, the tower itself was glowing bright, like a one-of-a-kind solar monument.Anyone who stared at it for a bit would be stunned. Those red stones looked like they were absorbing sunlight. A strong, natural energy was flowing from the tower, spreading across the land and feeding every corner of the planet. It was a massive inscription that nurtured all natural life.
This world was covered in dense forests, surrounded by endless rivers that cut through every part of it.
Right then, right above that radiant tower — far out of reach of any eyes or senses below...
... a spatial distortion appeared.
Seconds later.
**RUMBLE**
The top of the huge tower exploded violently with a cataclysmic impact.
The upper part burst open and shattered. The massive inscription that connected the whole planet was damaged. As a result, the entire world began to tremble.
Countless Mannaz appeared with wide, panicked eyes.
Some had wings, others were covered in feathers, some had hands or legs shaped like bird claws... each of them carried a trace of the Enfield bloodline. They were all part of the bird tribe — and this was their biggest planet, where the King lived.
Everyone on the planet started moving in panic. At the tower, the Mannaz looked up with shocked expressions.
Up there, they saw two glowing suns rising into the sky — but they looked like they were getting bigger and bigger.
A humanoid figure with a pair of pure white wings, like an angel, appeared. It was the King of the Tribe.
He looked to the sky and narrowed his eyes. "IT’S THEM! GET EVERYTHING READY FOR DEFENSE!"
At his roar, everyone tensed up. Word of the Dragon King’s total destruction had already spread everywhere. It wasn’t hard to figure out who was behind it, and the Academy Leader had already warned the tribal Kings about a possible confrontation.
Now, the demon trying to burn down their homes was right there staring at them. But... there were two?
The King stared hard at those suns for a moment. Then he saw, right in the center of them, two young Mannaz. He recognized them instantly — they were the two recent miracles, created through joint effort by all three tribes.
Decades of effort went into those two. They were the only ones who stayed stable long enough to reach the age to become Summoners. All the others died not long after being born.
On their shoulders — he couldn’t see clearly, but there seemed to be tiny shapes... Spiritual Guardians!
Up in the sky.
Niara and Darian stood just behind those ’suns’. Both of them looked surprised — and kind of happy.
"Perfect, Lucy and Lucius’s blessing multiplies and can hit insane levels, depending on who they’re fighting," Darian murmured.
Basically, the more the heavenly laws want to crush someone — in other words, the more the enemy’s karma is dark and heavy — the more power the twins get to fight back.
Right now, they’d gained strength that no Spiritual Guardian with a single ring could even dream of having. Even one with two rings would be a joke in comparison. But that kind of power depended heavily on the situation and the enemy.
"Little sister, don’t show mercy. If you hesitate, people like that will just end up hurting others later," Niara said softly toward Lucy.
Lucy took a deep breath. "Don’t worry. I’ll finish them... I won’t hold back."
"Younger brother, use your mercy to take them down fast. If you go easy and don’t finish it properly, you’ll end up putting your sister and your big brother at risk," Niara said calmly to Lucius.
He sighed. "I won’t let you down. People like this don’t deserve to live."
Darian nodded. Niara spent some time with the two of them, helping them train and getting to know them better. Even though she wasn’t great at explaining or teaching, she trained alongside them and beat down the Summoners until they learned by doing—it was insanely effective in every way.
After getting to know them a bit, Niara could describe the twins simply: two opposite halves in perfect harmony. They thought and acted very differently, but there was zero conflict or rejection between them.
"Alright, go—I’m counting on you," Darian said, turning to the other four.
They were three Elders and one Summoner without a partner. They nodded and gripped their weapons. Darian handed them artifacts, pills, and gear.
Their job was to stick with the twins and help in any way they could. They were experienced fighters, so they’d guide and teach them in battle.
"GO!"
They all dropped straight onto the top of the shattered tower.
Darian and Niara hovered in the sky. Below, they saw a sea of Mannaz attacking without hesitation.
The four Elders formed a circle, with the twins and their Summoners in the center. This was their first battle—an insanely tough trial for the two of them.
Luckily, the young Summoners had been trained since they were little and fought like pros. With Niara’s help, they’d improved even faster. The real challenge was Lucy and Lucius learning to control their Blessings precisely in the heat of battle.
They needed to swap roles and adapt their fighting styles by instinct. That way they could squeeze every drop of power out of their abilities.
*Wooosh!*
Their lights grew more intense, shifting color and brightness constantly.
It didn’t take long before blood started splattering among the attackers.
Screams echoed.
The two caterpillars trembled, eyes wide with real fear. They were fighting and killing for real for the first time. This reaction was totally normal—if they’d been calm, that would be worrying.
Darian sighed in pain. He never wanted these two to have to go through this... he’d rather keep them safe at home, living peaceful lives. But they’d made their choice. Darian had no right to decide how they should live. As their big brother, he could only support them as much as possible.
It didn’t take long for them to settle in. Slowly, they kept fighting and calmed down.
Over the days, Niara also told them what the Kings had been doing. She shared her own story, and what the twins’ Summoners had suffered. They knew exactly what they were fighting for—they had to stop this atrocity.
Darian watched for a few minutes.
Then he relaxed. The four experienced fighters were focused on organizing their battle formation. They were steady and could heal any wounds.
Of course, they were burning energy like crazy. This fight was unwinnable by numbers alone.
"Let’s go," Darian said, and Niara nodded.
Her body pulsed, her scales glowed.
"Black Dragon Armor!"
The skies went pitch black.
Everyone on the tower top stopped and looked up, terrified.
Lucy and Lucius took deep breaths and nodded excitedly, clearly feeling that incredible power erupting. The others couldn’t sense it as clearly, but they could.
Their power was like the heavenly laws themselves wanting to help them—gifting them a surge of strength. Darian... he was like the laws, wielding the world’s power to obliterate everything in his path.
The twins felt ecstatic, hungry for the fight.
Niara streaked forward like a black lightning bolt.
*BOOOM!*
They struck the tower’s base, right by the ground. They were heading straight for where this tribe’s King was hiding—in the underground vault, just like on the other planet.
After that day, nothing of that old kingdom would remain.
***
At Celestia Academy.
"FUCK!"
The Academy Leader roared, feeling another strike hit one of the big inscription nodes. He didn’t hesitate and sprinted to the underground chamber, where the black heart that controlled everything pulsed.
When he arrived, he saw a pair of red eyes in the pitch darkness. He took a deep breath and said,
"My Lord, we can’t let them continue."
A dry snort echoed.
Then a guttural voice boomed back: "How pathetic. Fine, I’ll lend a bit more help."
