Chapter 304: Unaware

Time flies by so fast. It’s the first day of June.

Ten days since Mel and Andrew returned from country M.

And for the past few days. Mel has been busy in her Playroom. She rarely shows up at the office, let alone chat with her friends. Because she was putting her mind and energy into the ’Invisible Shield.’

Last night her new gadget ’Invisible Shield’ finally successfully conducted the first trial, and the results amazed her. Even the large bullets from the sniper rifle couldn’t cut through her ’Invisible Shield.’ Apart from being impenetrable to bullets, she also upgrades the invisible shield resistant to hot objects, fire, and explosions. Makes her so excited and happy.

However, this morning she was a little sad. Because she had to temporarily separate from her husband. Andrew had to go on a business trip to New York early this morning. He will spend about 2 nights and 3 days on the trip.

Actually, she wanted to go to New York with him, but because she had lacked sleep the last few days, Andrew didn’t give her permission to go with him. She agrees with him. She has indeed been sleep-deprived in the past few days and her body feels tired easily.

And her husband asked her to attend the monthly dinner at the W Mansion to represent him. But, before she goes to the W Mansion this noon, she will meet her gang ’Play Hard and Eat Hard’ for lunch together at Wolfgang Steak House.

She hadn’t visited this place in a long time, so she was looking forward to her lunch date with them.

And Mel was grateful because her husband, for once, allowed her to eat steak. But it had to be cooked well done. Mel had to agree to it or no steak for her. It didn’t matter to her. Most importantly, she wants to vent her longing by eating as much as possible at her favorite restaurant.

When she came out of the bedroom, she saw Irina was waiting for her in the living room. They immediately headed straight to the parking lot.

In a few minutes, they had arrived at the restaurant and directly got to her VVIP room. When she entered the VVIP room she saw all her friends already seated. She greeted all of her friends then came in and sat near Harry. In front of her sat Anna, then Windy and Sam.

Irina followed Mel inside and sat at the end of the table. She would not join in the conversation with the young lady’s friends but only listen in the corner with Lara.

"Boss, thank God you have time to come and join us...." They all greeted her once she sat.

"Yeah, I happen to have time today. Have you guys ordered?" Mel asked.

"We did, but Irina told us to not order medium-rare steak. Is that ok?" Windy said while glaring at Irina. She was surprised when Irina called her and asked the weird request. Because as far as she knew, that’s Mel’s favorite.

Mel nods. While chuckling silently. Even though her husband wasn’t here to monitor her food intake, Irina knew what she had to do.

"Boss, what are you busy with lately? After returning from Royal City, we want to meet you. But, Hiro said you can’t be bothered... are you planning a new company? Or, a new program?" Harry asked.

Ever since Mel came back, Harry wanted to meet her the most to discuss new game matters. And also ask about Amy. But he couldn’t contact her. She also never reads the text messages he sends. And her cellphone cannot be reached.

"Ooh... I have some projects. Secret project." She saw Harry beside her. "Sorry, I can’t share anything with you. How’s your game, Harry? Have you reached the final stage? Do you need me?" She asked.

Harry rolls his eyes.

He had told her several times since she was at Royal City about his new game project. But, it seems his boss forgot again. "Yes, yes, we need your judgment... Can you make time to check?" Harry said.

"Alright, send it to me... I will have a look at it once I have time." She said while eating the appetizer that was served on the table.

Then when she saw Anna giggling with Windy made her remember about Anna’s boyfriend, Hiro. Why did Hiro not join them? She thought Hiro would join them for lunch.

After she finished her appetizer she asked her, "Anna, where is Hiro, your boyfriend? Why didn’t he join us here?" Mel looked at her. She was taken aback when she saw Anna’s eyes wide open and her face turning pale. "What happened, Anna? Why is your face turning pale? Are you sick?" Mel didn’t realize she had just announced Anna’s secret in front of Sam and Windy.

While Mel is clueless, the others, except Harry, stare at Anna. This includes Irina and Lara, who sit somewhat away on the edge of the table.

Anna’s boyfriend is Hiro? They are all shocked by that shocking news.

Harry almost choked when he heard Mel’s words. He can’t believe Mel spilled Anna’s secret in front of others. Is she aware of what she has done? He thought Mel must be unaware. He grinned while eating his salad, and his eyes stared at Anna. He will enjoy the excellent show now...

"Boss... you said Anna and Hiro are a couple?" Windy said.

"Shi*t! So the man who conquers this playgirl is Hiro? Boss, you mean Hiro, our CEO, right?" Sam asked in shock.

Mel, confused with their reaction. She stares at Anna, the girl still frozen in her place. After a second, Mel finally could understand what had happened.

Damn!! What happened to me? Why can’t I hold myself back lately?

Not only Anna’s secret that escaped her mouth but her own secret too. She already told several people about her marriage to Andrew. She scolded herself in her heart. Her brain worked quickly to think of a way out. She had to do something.
