Chapter 300: Just Need You

At Royal City.

Mel finished her bath after 30 minutes. She immediately put on her white nightgown and checked her cellphone. Afraid there’s news from the hospital. But she felt relieved because she found nothing. She sat on the sofa and read her company email instead.

After a while, she felt hungry. After asking Max about her husband’s position, she found out Andrew was cooking on the second floor. She immediately went to the second floor.

This was the first time she came to this floor. It turns out the second floor is a family area. She saw an ample open space. There is a large L sofa and flat-screen TV, on the other side there is a fully equipped modern kitchen with a dining area.

Mel approached her husband, who was busy in the kitchen. Before she came to him, Andrew saw her. They smile at each other. Mel quickened her pace then hugged his waist from behind while peeking at what he was doing. She saw her husband was boiling something in a reasonably large pressure cooker.

"What are you cooking?" Mel was curious about his cooking because she seldom saw her husband using such a big pressure cooker.

Andrew smiles as her arms wrap around his waist. He turns his body and embraces her while kissing the top of her hair. "I made ginseng chicken stew."

"Y-You what?" Mel was dumbfounded. Earlier, Andrew asked what she wanted to eat. Mel carelessly answered that about wanting to eat the ginseng chicken stew that Lilly made for her. "So, you could cook it?" she asked in disbelief.

Andrew didn’t answer, but he took his wife’s hand and led her to sit on the island near the kitchen. "This is my first time making this kind of dish." He laughed before continuing... "Earlier, I had called my mother to ask for the recipe." He said while giving his wife fresh fruit... "Wife, you eat this first, huh. The main meal will only be finished in a few minutes."

Mel freezes when she hears Andrew’s words. What? He called his mother, just asking for the recipe. Mel glanced at the clock. Her eyes widened, and she realized her husband asked Lilly in the middle of the night.

"Husband..." Andrew, who was back in the kitchen, saw her. "You said earlier, you called your mother for the recipe?"

"Hmm... why?"

"Do you realize what time it is there?" Mel chuckled when she saw her husband’s blank expression. Damn it! She knew it. Her husband must have forgotten city J local time.

Andrew cleared his throat before saying, "It’s okay, wife. When I called... Mom and Dad didn’t seem to be sleeping. Their voices didn’t sound like they just woke up." He then focused again on his cooking.

Mel could only shake her head and felt embarrassed. Because she was sure, her husband must have said to Lilly that she wanted to eat the chicken ginseng stew.

Trying to forget about it, she starts to eat her grapes and strawberry given by Andrew while checking her cell phone.

"Wow... your cousin just released a blockbuster movie." Mel reads the news about Lizzy Adams. "Husband... Lizzy will come back to X country to promote her new movie. Can we meet her?"

"Sure, dear... I will ask James to arrange our gathering with her."

Mel giggled. "I bet brother James will be so happy because Lizzy came back to the country. Sometimes I feel sad for him... he has a beautiful girlfriend, but they can’t see each other all the time."

"He was so stupid. He knew the consequences. But he still decides to be in a relationship with Lizzy...." Andrew, from the start, did not approve of them dating because he knew their family would oppose their relationship. And again, Lizzy’s status as a superstar doesn’t have much time to date with him.

And also, Lizzy is young. But James insists and keeps dating. He can’t say anything to James because that’s his choice. He just turned a blind eye not to interfere with their relationship.

"If it was me. I wouldn’t be able to date long distances like them. I will follow you everywhere until you get tired of me...." She stared at him with her loving eyes.

"Hahaha, I know. I also will do that to you, my pretty wife. I will follow you wherever you go. I will even leave everything behind as I don’t need anything if I have you. Just you by my side is enough." His eyes looked at her. Mel saw from the look in her husband’s eyes that the words came from his heart.

Andrew’s love for her was so deep it made her feel very happy.

They stare at each other for a while until the pressure cooker rings. Signaling the chicken ginseng cooked. They both laugh because of that. Andrew immediately plated the main dish while Mel prepared the cutlery set on the dining table.

Later...

"How does the taste?" Andrew asked after Mel drank the ginseng chicken stew. Because this is the first time he’s made this dish, he wants to hear an honest review from her.

After tasting the broth, Mel put down her spoon and looked at her husband. She smiled, looking at her tense husband beside her. "Husband, you really are a genius when it comes to cooking. This is the first time you made this, and it tastes so similar to the one I ate at the W Mansion."

Andrew smiled proudly, then he gently stroked his wife’s hair... "Wife, eat more. I made quite a lot." He said and tried to eat his chicken ginseng. When he drank the broth, an instant smile appeared on his face. His wife is correct. This dish has such a heavenly taste.

In no time, they finish dinner and go back to their bedroom. After eating so much chicken cooked with ginseng, Mel ends the meal with some fresh fruit. Mel then feels sleepy. Tonight her husband seemed to know that she was so tired, he didn’t ask her to make love like he used to.

They sleep while embracing each other.

"Good night, my lovely wife..." Andrew whispered in her ear.

"Thank you, husband, for making such delicious food. I love you, and good night." She said in a barely audible voice.
