Chapter 279: Endangers

The car partition had been lowered. Irina and Lara could see Mel surveying the white Van with an edgy look. They became curious as to why she was so attracted to the white Van. It seemed she was waiting for something to happen. After a few minutes in a wondering state they both can’t hold anymore, they decide to ask her.

But they were afraid to disturb her, so they looked at each other while whispering...

"Irina, you should ask...."

Irina shakes her head. She insists Lara has to ask Mel. Because she was traumatic when she bothered her from making a program, Mel scolded her.

Finally, Lara dares to ask, "Young Lady, sorry to bother you. I was just wondering if there’s anything fishy in there...?" Lara pointed to the white Van where they had parked their car earlier.

Irina, who sat beside Lara, was also curiously waiting for Mel’s answer. But to their surprise, Mel did not answer them but threw another question that shocked them both.

"Lara, Irina, is this car bulletproof?" She asks without shifting her eyes from the white Van.

"Y-Young Lady, what’s wrong? Why are you suddenly asking like that?" Instantly Irina alerts, worried that the young lady wants to do something that endangers her life again. She knew from Hans that the Young Lady often acted unexpectedly and did a dangerous act. It might get them in trouble if she does that now.

"Can you both just answer my question..." Mel looks at both of them with impatient-looking eyes.

"Y-Yes, this car is bulletproof. Why do you ask like that, Young Lady... is anyone stalking us?" Irina looked around them with a sharp gaze. Looking for anything suspicious. So did Lara. She quickly swept her surroundings.

But after they did that, they didn’t find anything suspicious. Both Irina and Lara looked at Mel again, who now focused on looking at the White Van.

While Irina and Lara were feeling worried, Mel, on the other hand, felt very calm. They will be safe if they are in the car, even though there is shooting action outside.

"Young Lady, can you tell us what happened? So that we can get ready." Lara instantly remembered the incident when the young lady’s grandfather’s car was hit by a truck. She imagined Young Lady would crawl out the back window of the vehicle and shoot snipers from the automobile’s top. At the time, her action had resulted in her hand being slashed.

That incident earned them a warning from the Young Master. They were threatened by the young master. If something like that happened again, they would be transferred to another unit in a remote post.

And, ’Another Unit in a remote post’ in the young master’s mind would mean a unit in an extreme location like the north pole or the deserted mountain. No friends to talk to, not even regular internet access. That task was the same as languishing in a dungeon cell at the ’Shadow’ base.

Something that an elite team like the two of them avoided. Being a Young Miss bodyguard is an achievement for both of them. They are too comfortable with this task. They don’t want to be transferred to another unit. What’s more, the young miss treats them not as subordinates but almost like a family member. In the last few months, they had started to feel bonded like family.

Hearing Lara’s words and seeing their tense-looking faces make Mel laugh...

"Hahaha, Lara, Irina, relax, now you two just sit in your seat and look at the white Van. Soon there will be a good show there." She looked back at the white Van.

Meanwhile, Irina and Lara, who still don’t understand what young miss said, simultaneously looked in Van’s direction. But they waited a few minutes, and nothing happened.

"Is the young miss pranking us?" Irina whispers to Lara.

"Could be..." Lara replied in her low soft voice.

Amid their growing curiosity, their eyes were suddenly wide-open when they saw four big men who came out of the restaurant. They were immediately surrounded by a group of people dressed in dark green, fully armed. They were like special forces in the Russian military.

"What happened?" Irina said in a loud voice.

"Damn it, Irina!! Don’t scream!!" Lara glared at her. She was afraid the special forces would attack them too.

Irina immediately covered her mouth. Then she looked at Mel... "Young Lady, what is this? Who are they?"

"They kidnap people," Mel said without glancing at them. Her eyes were glued to a young boy with brown curly hair who stood not far from the location of the special forces. He is Stefan, her hacker friend with the ID Grim Reaper.

She smiles while taking her cell phone and sending a short message to him. She has already decided to meet Stefan without hiding her true face. She trusted this young man enough. Besides, he is a good hacker who works closely with his country’s military. Just like herself, he also comes from a good family and has never caused any problems in his life.

Irina and Lara are now in shock when they hear Mel’s words.

"What the heck! How could we cross paths with them?" Irina didn’t expect their luck to be so good to avoid trouble. "Young lady, if you hadn’t asked us to change the parking lot, we might have been sent to the army headquarters as a witness."

Lara suddenly looked at the Young Lady with a questioning look. How can she know if there will be an exciting show? Even she asked her to move the car. Does the young lady have spies in the Russian army? So that she can know?

Mel, who had just texted Stefan, looked at Lara and Irina. Instantly she was surprised to see the two of them staring at her intently as if they were trying to scan her brain.

"Why are you guys staring at me like that? Is there anything you want to ask?" Her lips curled up into a faint smile.

They both nod,

"Yes, young Lady, how could you know?"

"Do you have spies in the military?"

"Did you hack the military communication system?"

"Hahaha, both of your imaginations are something... huh! Alright, I will tell you guys."

Irina and Lara are staring at her with curiously looking eyes.

"Would you believe me if I said I have super-eyes? I can see through anything even in thick walls...."

Irina and Lara are dumbfounded. They both thought their Young Lady was so weird.

Mel could only smile when she saw their doubtful expression. When she wanted to explain to them in more detail, someone knocked on their car.
