Chapter 272: Truth Behind Her Coma (2)
Right now, she has mixed feelings.
She felt confused and sad to hear Uncle Robert telling her an absurd thing. What Uncle Robert said earlier didn’t make any sense at all. How can she recover on her own without any medical treatment?
She wanted Uncle Robert to tell her the truth. She wanted to know what really happened to her eleven years ago.
Uncle Robert froze in place. He was considering whether to tell Mel and her husband about what happened at that time.
"Doctor Robert, please explain my wife’s actual condition. Why do you say she can heal on her own? Isn’t that impossible?" Andrew, who was just silently observing Uncle Robert’s, finally joined in the conversation after seeing he seemed reluctant to tell them. Making his wife get emotional about her past.
"Yes, uncle... I was a patient who had the right to know. If uncle is afraid to tell me because my grandmother asked uncle to be silent, I can call her now to ask her permission...." Mel took out her cell phone and was ready to call her grandmother.
"Little Mel..."
Uncle Robert wavers when he sees Mel’s reddened eyes holding back her tears, and her face turns pale... After a few moments of silence, he finally said everything; Starting when he received the medical report from the Moscow Hospital until she arrived at the hospital and what happened until she woke up from her coma.
Andrew was shocked by what he had just heard from Uncle Robert.
While Mel’s face looked even paler than before, her tongue was stiff. She couldn’t say anything, even though her brain was filled with many questions she wanted to ask Uncle Robert.
While she was struggling to get her tongue to move, she suddenly heard Uncle Robert say...
"Little Mel, did you feel something strange when you woke up from your long sleep?" Back then, he asked her, but she said Nothing. Maybe at that time, she didn’t understand her condition, so she didn’t notice. But now that she knew what had happened to her body, maybe she could remember a small change had occurred in her body.
Uncle Robert waited patiently for Mel’s reply to him. He understood. Now Mel was in shock with what she had just heard. He glanced at Andrew. The husband’s condition was the same as the wife’s. Right now, he, too, was frozen in place, unable to speak.
Hearing Uncle Robert’s question, suddenly Mel realized something. Her power, like controlling machines, creating computer programs in her brain, and making it into a practical gadget, was the effect she got after she woke up from the coma. This includes her power to understand computer language.
But she had a doubt. Does superhuman power just come to her like that?
Instantly she felt cold all over her body. Her brain was busy searching for answers to all the questions that popped into her mind.
What the hell is happening with me? Was I injected with some kind of freak drug? Was I some kind of superhuman like in Marvel movies? Am I the reincarnation of a god? Or, Am I getting crazy now?
Gosh!! God, What happened to me? Is this all just a dream? Actually, I’m still in a coma right now?
Damn it!!
Mel closed her eyes and buried her face with her two hands. Her body trembles, she cries. Right now, she can’t hold her emotions. Her current feelings were mixed; scared, anxious, confused, and sad.
Making Andrew and Doctor Robert shocked.
"Little Mel, Little Mel..." Uncle Robert stood up from his seat and called Mel’s name over and over in worry.
"Wife?" Andrew immediately knelt in front of her. He then hugged his wife, trembling body tightly as if transferring his energy to her, "Wife, it’s okay, It’s okay, don’t think anything of it. Please just stop it, relax your mind, alright! Everything is alright..." Andrew whispered in her ear gently and hugged her in silence. He knew that his wife was in shock and confusion. He let herself calm down first before continuing to talk about this matter again.
After a while, Mel could control her emotions. She took a deep sigh before whispering to her husband, who was still hugging her, "Husband, I’m fine..."
Andrew let go of his arms. He held his wife’s chin and saw her gray eyes, which were a bit red from crying. For a moment, they spoke through their eyes.
A minute later...
Mel asked Andrew to sit back, then she looked at uncle Robert, "Uncle, I’m fine, don’t worry. Earlier, I was just confused and sad..." She wiped the traces of tears that were still on her cheeks before continuing her sentence. "Uncle, after you know my body could heal itself, did you do a test with my blood or a test that made sure there was no strange thing in my body?"
Mel didn’t know what more to say. She just wanted to know if her body wasn’t the result of the doctor injecting her with a weird drug that would allow her body to heal automatically. She hoped it was not a drug that made her talk to machines and all the abilities she got after waking up from a coma.
Doctor Robert seemed to know what was on Mel’s mind. He smiled before replying, "Nothing. You are clear of anything like what you think... Everything is normal. What’s strange about you is your body heals itself. But strangely, after you just woke up, the healing power is gone. You remember, right? When did you hurt? Your wounds are healing normally, different from when you first came to this hospital."
"Uncle was right. Until now, I have never healed myself again." She remembered a few times she was injured when she was training in XTeam. And she needs time to heal. So, the healing power only happens once, meaning no one is injecting anything into her body.
But, why can she control the machine? She also can understand computer language? And can make gadgets that only exist in movies or future devices? She seems to have a brain that is far more advanced than most humans.
Why?
